  1. 4th down was clearly a check by Love at the line. And got the matchup he wanted. He was wide open and it was a poor throw.
  2. That's a touchdown with a good throw.
  3. I think you guys are going to be way off on this, but I hope you're right. I'll be very surprised if he takes that option. At a minimum I think 1/5mm is WAY off.
  4. There's no chance Woodruff exercises his option. He needs to get paid. He's 32. He was much better this year than what that option is going to pay him and he needs the longevity. Someone who can do it will happily eat the risk that he might get hurt in order to have a player of his caliber on the roster. All the better if they DL him half the year a la LAD.
  5. Woodruff isn't going to exercise his side of the option but if he's even willing to talk, the Brewers need to listen. I think he's going to get priced out of our capability, but it would be nuts to let him go if he's willing to sign here for our price, injury concerns or not. Honestly, I know this was a terrible series, but I personally think it had more to do with us having an inopportune dryspell than payrolls and a talent disparity. The Dodgers are certainly better, but not "we can only score 1 run a game" better. The majority of this team can be brought back, with the exception of Ortiz, who we just can't move ahead with. I would also agree with trading Freddy if we like an offer. Miz is your ace.
  6. Our offense really disappeared after Game 2 of the DS but it got masked by the outcome of Game 5. We got bailed out with a few solo shots there but we had stopped stringing hits together. One of the reasons I don't fully buy the narrative that we just couldn't compete with the Dodgers. That may be true, but I think our own role in this is being cast aside a little too conveniently. We didn't play well.
  7. Saw this coming at a steady 3mph all week but the finality of it still sucks. I still spent today looking forward to the game believe it or not. I'll miss this team.
  8. What was he supposed to do? Say it was over? This is a bit of a reach.
  9. I remember a friend telling me last weekend we'd have to face Snell three times. He was wrong.
  10. He hit a solo shot in the first inning of Game 7 of the NLCS that blew the damn roof off that stadium. I was near Amy and so positive we were going to the World Series. And then, nothing.
  11. Hate seeing these guys go out like this but I suppose any way they went out was going to be painful. This was my favorite team since probably 2011.
  12. 9 years ago, your Cubs won a world series, which has nothing to do with this season, this team, or the fact Milwaukee has been their daddy since.
  13. Not when it was very specifically directed at your division rival that flies a flag after every game, that you just played and beat. It doesn't have anything to do with the Dodgers. The Cubs can't say a meaningful word about it. They lost to us. Just some stupid banter, I chuckled at it and never thought about it again. It's not like it said "We're going all the way, look out LA" Just think anyone making any kind of deal out of it is being a little too serious. It's a sport.
  14. I don't see what the big deal is with all that. It would make sense if they flew it at the end of the regular season then got eliminated by the Cubs. But they beat the Cubs. It just doesn't really make sense as some kind of egg on your face thing.
  15. Doesn't take any of the joy out of the season for me, but just makes me sad we're going to lose this version of the team, which was a lot more fun to watch than the last few years, especially the 2023 team's offense. I knew this was likely, but I Brewlieved. They were just a fun team.
  16. If they got this back to Milwaukee somehow, the whole mood would shift toward expecting to win. If we're going to lose I don't want to do it at home. But that's not really how these things work.
  17. Yeah I think way too much "they're worn out" AND "the Dodgers have too much money" is being thrown around. It's a lot easier to admit those things than just the possibility that we stopped playing well at a very bad time. I'm not saying the other stuff isn't a factor...but I think all of it's a factor, and the latter is the biggest one.
  18. I'm kinda done with Murphy slander. He's a huge part of why we got here. I give him a ton of credit for this team's soul. So will everyone else after we win the next 4... I just don't think he did or didn't do anything that cost us.
  19. Yeah I think this is a solid take. It's more therapeutic to lament this substitution or this start than to just admit we were inferior, and unlike we usually can, we didn't make up for it on the margins. We couldn't be patient because they threw strikes. We couldn't do anything on the basepaths because we didn't get on base. They didn't need to make a lot of hustle defensive plays. Any flaw we had pitching was fatal because the margin for error was zero.
  20. Lamenting the openers just feels like spleen venting. Ashby to go lefty lefty made sense. It's Brewers baseball. Those openers haven't lost these games. We can't hit. I'll stick this one out. Even if it's ugly we're about to lose baseball for 6 months.
  21. Seems more random than anything. Don't know our home record but that probably isn't great. We've advanced 3x in my life and two of those required a decisive game 5. This is actually the first time I've realized we've never won a 7-game series.
  22. I don't think the Steelers are going to do much. But I'm glad Aaron isn't lifeless and they should probably make the playoffs, which is a more dignified exit and I'm glad he's going to go out that way.
