I think the Brewers are plenty close. The competitive nature of TOR/SEA and then TOR/LAD makes me think we just gassed out at a very bad time. Woodruff was big. Then our horses just didn't hit. Perhaps taking out the Cubs was the catharsis for our guys and they just couldn't get going after.
Obviously, baseball has structural problems. But if Smith's toe came off the bag, or the catch isn't made, or any number of things, the "we need a cap now" talk is far more muted. This is our first repeat in quite some time, baseball does offer lots of parity. Everyone is sick of the Dodgers being there, yes. I just don't quite feel that it's hopeless for MKE, though.
