  1. They don't really give out the bobbles any other time besides the game and some of them sell out. Peanuts is huge and so is Star Wars. They might allow a pick up later if you talk to a rep. Obviously they set some aside for the SSH rewards and other random stuff, but if you don't grab it the day of you are taking a risk. There's nothing to stop you from getting the bobble with your own cheaper seat though. They have no idea where you're sitting; you just grab them off a table in exchange for the voucher.
  2. So then what is the question? If you can get the vouchers you can get the bobbleheads.
  3. Not sure I get the question. You need a ticket to get in, the voucher isn't a ticket. I've been told by the rep in the past that you can only purchase the voucher IF your package includes a ticket to that game. I've never tried asking for a voucher of a game I didn't have tickets to, if you're suggesting buying the voucher and giving it to someone with a ticket. I'm not sure what he'd say if I tried to buy a voucher and then bought my own cheap ticket, if that's what you're getting at.
  4. I don't really hold any weight in that stuff or what it "seems like" he might do. Most of the flattering things Giannis has said about Milwaukee have to be framed with the fact that this guy just turned 25. He said at a lot of these things at 22, 23. He has powerful people in his ear, all the time, and he could very well just change his mind or his long-term goals, or he/his girlfriend may just want his family based somewhere else. I'll be convinced he's staying when he signs. Until then it's just guesses based on his very limited media leaks about it. It's easy to say the right things and change your mind when the opportunity to leave becomes tangible.
  5. I was going to say he would come out behind if he turned it down this summer and blew out a knee. But I'm actually not sure that's even true. Ignoring that he seems lower risk for that kind of injury than say, Joel Embiid, I'm not sure it would even matter. Someone would pay him just as much the following offseason. If he wants to leave, he is. It's that simple and nobody knows.
  6. Then skip the pitcher's spot and just have 8 guys bat. That would seem less damaging to the Brewers than another disadvantaged position. Though maybe not, because the lack of a "free out" might hurt them even more. I dunno. I'm not even that old and I hate the idea of a player that doesn't have to bat. I grew up on the AL Brewers and hated it as a kid.
  7. I think that's a good point. I don't think he's going anywhere because it's going to be really hard for anybody to pass up the certainty of $250 million this offseason when he's offered the supermax that only MKE can offer. I mean, it's kind of stupid to do it, honestly. But we just don't know. I don't take athletes at their word.
  8. It's inevitable but I don't like it. Seems like it's bad for smaller market teams overall. It's sort of an equalizer forcing the pitcher to bat, but if you remove that from the equation it's just another spot where the richest teams can fork out cash to create a large gap between their DH and say, the Brewers DH. Maybe someone can point out that's not true, but that's how it seems. I wish they had to bat in both leagues, but I know this is a matter of when, not if.
  9. I hope Feyereisen finds a way to stay on because he is a really interesting player to me. He's been a very solid performer and consistent at every level. The walks are maybe a bit higher than you want, but I would like to see him get a shot.
  10. Like I alluded to above, if you are within an hour of the stadium and a collector, the 20-pack just gets more worth it every season. I'm in one of those groups and sometimes I just don't feel like going to a game. 20 is a lot, especially for me in WA County. I'll post my tickets for free, and just tell someone to mail me one bobble. They always do it, and everyone knows the trusted members of the site. I only ever keep one bobble, so I always sell the extra at the SGA games. Purchasing the vouchers ahead of time is a nice perk. I'm too impatient for this, but one of the SSH rewards is always a package of bobbles from the previous year, too, including several theme nights. I genuinely think I'd keep the package alive with 1 ticket even if I moved away.
  11. I like this one a lot. The BP is the biggest area of concern to me and it's nice to see it fortified a bit. Good, reliable veteran arm.
  12. Idk. If the Bucks end the season with anything short of at least a super competitive Finals, that Giannis conversation is going to get a lot more uneasy. If they are decidedly outplayed but anybody, it's awfully hard to reboot without a significant change. Particularly if they are upended in the ECF again.
  13. Keeping Giannis, that's the reason. Not necessarily if they don't win the Finals, but why/how they don't win the Finals. If they don't even get there, or they get dominated by LA, then something is wrong with the formula and they'll be branded a regular season tiger. This is my only hang-up with this team. They look great, but they have to crush the best of the best in the playoffs. Until they do it, that'll be the knock on them. If that happens, I think you can expect a significant shake-up to keep Giannis - that would be the reason, despite doing everything he's asked to this point. If they lose in 7 and two games go to OT, then sure, you can run it back.
  14. I suspect there are still more. The WWE date sounds suspicious and there is no stitch n pitch night or coaches with cancer that I saw.
  15. Theme nights are live https://www.mlb.com/brewers/tickets/specials?fbclid=IwAR3yfRDai7tSgOXKVNsf6yFokpoJrBT8Ry4efdCRDi0FSj5BzmfdQak_Guk
  16. Now I'm down the rabbit hole and found this Nelson interview from last year which I'm now listening to https://player.fm/series/the-moonlight-graham-show/ep-121-brad-nelson-of-the-milwaukee-brewers-garrigan-golden-bears Guy hit 27 homers as a sophomore in high school and was apparently an incredible basketball player too.
  17. Baseball is cruel. I remember Brad Nelson well and his fizzle-out. However I did not realize he was still playing AAA as recently as 2014, Mexican Winter League in 2015. Maybe he was just having fun, but it's crazy to think he was battling back for another shot after like 20 at bats 6 years earlier.
  18. I didn't go, but it really needs to get out of the WI center. It's simply outgrown that venue.
  19. Urias slugged .600 last year in AAA, not sure how that is no power. I was never sold on Arcia because he never showed any ability to drive the ball and didn't ever show he could take a walk. Urias has shown both of those skills even it was more doubles driven when was in his teens. I was sort of kidding, but I'm not expecting big power numbers out of him this year. If he plays good defense and is an upgrade over Arcia at the plate, I'm golden.
  20. Mids must have seen my post that he's not a legit second star.
  21. Yeah, it could certainly work if the majority of players they added this off-season perform at league average levels (or slightly better). From a fan perspective it isn’t nearly as exciting as the additions of the past two off-seasons, but ultimately it could work out just fine. I think they have done enough to contend for a playoff spot, but I would put their odds at less than a coin flip of actually making the playoffs. I think their most likely range of wins is somewhere between 82-90, with 85 being my current prediction. I also have a gut feeling that only one NL Central team is going to make the playoffs this year. To be honest I prefer what they've done this year. I loved Grandal, and Moose was a good player for the Brewers, but the Brewers had a real problem last year with 6-8 in the lineup for a lot of the season. I'm anticipating that's not going to be as bad this season. None of them may be world beaters, but what I like about this group offensively is that I think it has a higher floor than last year's team. I like the addition of Smoak a lot and think he'll fit in nicely, but they have a nice balance of guys to play matchups and should be cutting back on Ks a lot. I like the lineup. I'm indifferent about the SP; I expect it to be very similar and hoping for a bounce back from Burnes. The bullpen is where they're going to add or drop key games that make the difference.
  22. Don't have to regain your power if you start with none.
  23. Borland got his $463K for one year of not playing. Guess it didn't concern him too much... https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/san-francisco-49ers/chris-borland-14487/ Borland made 8 starts and played in 14 games for the 49ers in 2014, making 107 tackles. He had to pay back 3/4th of his signing bonus after he announced his retirement. Just because Borland counted for $463K against the 49ers 2015 cap doesn't mean that he saw that money. He didn't. Thanks. That was an awful take and I didn't have to waste any time dispelling it. It's so odd to me when fans try to take potshots at players who criticize the league.
  24. "A total of 41 baseball players were identified, all of whom were documented to have a chronic presentation of a nonunion or partial union. The population consisted completely of male athletes, with a median age of 21 years (range, 18-34 years). All patients were competitive athletes, with 12 professional baseball players, 17 collegiate baseball players, and 12 high school baseball players. All patients were treated with hook of hamate excision, with 7 patients undergoing concomitant procedures as indicated. The median time to return to play was 5 weeks (range, 3-7 weeks). The time to return to play was similar between professional, collegiate, and high school athletes. All athletes returned to their preinjury level of activity by 7 weeks postoperatively." Doesn't really sound all that bad. 8 weeks from today, the conservative estimate I've seen, Is March 24. So he should be with the MLB team, if that's the plan, before the end of April.
  25. They did talk about it, it was reported widely he was flying in to have his wrist examined. He clearly wasn't flown to the US to have his wrist "checked out" though. He was flown in to have surgery performed by the team's doctor of choice. I wouldn't expect them to say more than what they did. And if that's all they decided to say, there's not much to talk about.
