  1. I got two Bucks aprons from a Palermo's box, lol.
  2. People seem to forget that Adams had a really bad second year, dealing with injuries and dropsies. WR does typically have a longer learning curve than most positions. I just think they have overshot that group's development. I think they absolutely need a proven vet. It doesn't have to be someone like AJ Green, but they need someone who's proven they can play already. They already have enough young guys. Someone like Golden Tate who was out there last season. Anyone that knows how to get open and preferably + speed. I'd rather the early picks stay on the defensive side.
  3. Yeah, that's what happened. If he hit some early throws maybe it's more fun to watch, but at halftime their RB was literally averaging a first down. 10.3 yards on 20 carries. There was no way they were going to win. All the "overmatched" talk was 100% accurate. There was an alarming team speed disparity when the Packers had the ball. It felt like 11 v 15.
  4. I think it's extremely likely one of them is cut in camp. I also think things are going to be very different from what Packers fans have gotten used to. I think they will address the WR/TE issue aggressively. Maybe they think they have their TE but Rodgers is going to get some help next year. It was too obvious for them to ignore. They just don't have any WRs that create their own plays outside of Adams. And they REALLY made a mistake not bringing back Randall Cobb. I was in favor of moving on and wanted him cut prior to last year, but man did that backfire. He wouldn't really solve the separation issue they have but he would have looked like Art Monk with the group they had this year.
  5. They literally did that last month. And he is a top 10 QB. I'll agree that he's become too risk averse, I think it's a fair assessment. But he isn't running as much anymore because he's old. Watch some tape of the Super Bowl. He's looks like lightning compared to now. And the answer is not 15-18 picks. Setting a goal of interceptions is comical, but we could probably survive if he was throwing 10 and connecting more often on those risky throws. I'm not even sure he needs to be that much riskier. He threw downfield a lot this year and just flat out missed guys a lot.
  6. Did you think they would net gain 7 wins last offseason and be in the NFCCG game or did they have too many needs to achieve that?
  7. Martinez is bad. I'm not going to argue that. He is just not athletic enough to get around the way they need a MLB to in that defense.
  8. The 49ers are a dominant defense with a very meh CB2. They're not going to be void of weaknesses. They need LBs that can cover and contain the edge. They don't need a corner better than King and they don't need two linemen. They got torched in 2009 to end their season and were the top D in 2010 and they didn't do it by plugging every hole with all pros. They hit on Sam Shields and it made a world of difference. It can be very subtle things that open up schemes. I just genuinely don't see where the sky is falling stuff is coming from. If I have a big issue with the team right it's that they should have had this soft rebuild underway a year earlier because it was kinda obvious they were going to suck last year and we could be a year further into the next guy's plan. They're fine. From an organizational standpoint this team was a MESS last year. There was so much turmoil and the MLF hire was widely hated. They had a great year, just give em a chance to see what they follow it with. They won a lot of games and know where they have to get better.
  9. Allison may not play football again. You can make a case he was the worst player on the team.
  10. I'll be pulling hard for KC. 50-year drought, good fans, Midwest. I don't want to see Garapolo win a Super Bowl throwing 25 passes in 3 playoff games.
  11. C'mon, that's not even true. I know we're all sad, but it's not. Rodgers had an MVP level run in the 2016 season that spilled into the 2017 playoffs. 2015 is just false. He was basically still working miracles until the two years the team missed the playoffs, one of which he missed half the year. It's been a less productive transitional period of his career, not unlike other vet QBs have had. There was a regime change, he threw for 4000 yards and 26/4 and people are talking about him like they're watching Michael Jordan slosh around for the Wizards. His play was not great this year, but I think it's getting a little hyperbolic.
  12. Their successor would still likely hit FA before Rodgers retires. He was not great this year, but I am not ready to throw that towel in yet. Still think with some time in this offense, and a season or two to infuse the right personnel that he has something left. I don't even think they know what "this offense" even means yet. Rookie coach getting here is pretty wild. He's set a high bar for himself but I'm excited to see if they can build on it. I think Rodgers will have seasons better than this one.
  13. He can be a "guy" but that doesn't mean you have to replace him. You need "guys." AJ Hawk was a guy. On a good team, he had a great year and was a key player on a title team. In reality, enormous gaps are rarely as big as they seem. I've heard all this before. The Vikings are geared to dominate the division for years, the Packers are going to down the NFC for a decade, they won it before they even peaked! It never works out this way. It's a league full of blown knees and fired coaches and schemes that get exposed. The Packers can absolutely beat that team year. They could also not, but I'm not going to rip my hair out because they're so much better than us and we need to fill 10 holes. It's just never that simple. Sometimes one or two guys, or a strategy that uses what you have a bit better makes all the difference.
  14. IMO the draft is not going to cut it as far as WR goes. They need a veteran player that contributes tomorrow. That's a position that typically takes years to reach the kind of impact they need. Metcalfs happen, but their group is so bad they need a proven player.
  15. Seattle was a good team and Wilson is a magician. That game never felt safe to me. The narrative of the Packers "not beating anyone" died last week for me. At some point 14 wins are 14 wins. SF is better, but the Packers proved they were the NFC runner up. They beat Minnesota twice and took out Seattle. In the end they were a top 5 team. I don't think they were on a KC/BAL/SF level but they got where they did by being good.
  16. I think the thing that bugs me the most is that somehow through 18 games they never even had a good performance this season. They had a lot of uglies and a lot of great halves, but never a great, complete game. They had things to clean up all year and despite the record most of it just never really got cleaned up. @Minn and SEA were pretty good by any measure. Sloppy start in Minny but they dominated a good team, on the road, with a lot on the line. Last week was their best game of the year. The scores were never impressive because their offense was just not explosive at all. Not at all. If anything bugged me it's that their offense never seemed to improve one iota. It was the same sloppy product from Week 1 on.
  17. Jason Wilde on Twitter: Garoppolo went from 2:10 left in the half to 8:05 left in the game without throwing a single pass.
  18. The NFL can be very volatile and they could very well and probably will win fewer than 13 games next year. I still think Rodgers will have a year or two of MVP-level resurgence, not unlike Favre and Manning had late. At this point it's about making sure they have a shot each season, and a defense that's at least OK. This was crappy but that defense is still a lot better than it has been. But I think it's clear the two best teams are going to Miami.
  19. That's a subjective thing but I find it an empty way to go about sport and life in general. Your pursuit isn't "meaningless" because you fall short of a goal. Mike Holmgren talks about this exact thing in the America's Game of Super Bowl XXXI. That he finds it a poor philosophy and doesn't want his players to believe it. I'm just a fan but the 2018 Brewers weren't meaningless to me and this team wasn't either. They were realistically a 10-6 team that pushed to the brink.
  20. And if you can't hack it in the postseason than none of that in the regular season actually mattered at all. Except they hacked it last week by getting Wilson off the field to win the game. And no, I don't agree with that central point anyway. Your entire season isn't meaningless if you don't win the Super Bowl. And many of the best coaches agree.
  21. The defense has hacked it when it's mattered all year. Abysmal, embarassing showing, but that's precisely why this team was 13-3 and not 9-7. They got off the field in the 4th quarter a lot this season.
  22. Still don't agree at all. You're not playing for FGs now at all much less when you have to get 3 two pointers on top of it. That's just not realistic. How big is that 1 point looking right now at 34-20 instead of 34-21? You can not agree, but I'm betting that's a pre-determined percentage pick there. It's just about making it 3 trips down with 1 of them not very far rather than 3 long trips. I think it shifts based on the deficit and time left.
  23. And Rodgers is 28/34 for 300 yards and the Packers are down 20.
  24. It made sense with the game where it is. Two touchdowns and a FG. You can't do that down 20. With the time left and the miracle you need the (albeit very low) percentages are probably going for 2 there.
  25. Probably trying to get as many points as possible at this point. I mean, the math just didn't even make any sense on it. It does. At this point in the game down 19 is 8+8 plus a FG. Time is not on your side, so just needing a FG is a big difference. It's a silly dream, but that's why the chart probably said 2pt.
