  1. They look awful but this is still well within grasp of the Vikings doing some Viking stuff to blow it.
  2. I agree because any of these teams can beat us, Philly included. There is just not enough obvious separation between the Packers and anybody. It'd be one thing if one of the QBs suck, but all of them are pretty good. The Vikings are a dangerous team. On their best day, one of the best. But they are so wildly inconsistent.
  3. Meh, I don't really bemoan Taysom Hill. Flex players like that who aren't great at any one thing are products of their system. He's a good athlete that Payton uses well but I doubt he'd be doing anything like this in Green Bay or a bunch of other places. He's good enough at a bunch of stuff to use creatively but I think he's much more of a right place, right time guy.
  4. Would you want to stay in New Jersey? Point taken though. I don't think people in WI get to use lines like this. I've vacationed in south Jersey for years and I know you were joking, but that actually does make a bit of sense. It's probably an easier sell than FL/TX/CA guys as the NJ guys are used to cold and snow. It's very densely populated so there is probably just a disproportionate number of athletes.
  5. BB is a sore loser baby. It still bugs me years ago when the Mangini Jets beat them, he did that brush-off handshake. In the playoffs (or maybe just the 2nd game, can't recall), the Pats won, and BB gave him this great big hug. And the media just gobbled it up and couldn't stop talking about how classy it was. He's the least classy person in sports.
  6. What is it about New Jersey that the Badgers seem to pull so many guys, particularly skill positions, from there?
  7. Also, Seattle isn't a dome, but I agree with your point. New Orleans has always been a difficult place to play. Kansas City, Minnesota, Seattle, Philadelphia. Some places just have a better atmosphere for their teams than the Atlantas and Tampas of the league.
  8. I don't think the Lambeau advantage is all that great. They've dropped quite a few duds in my presence, playoffs included. The advantage to me is simply that they don't have to play in New Orleans. I wouldn't bet a cent on them to win down there. Same thing with SF. But I think their defense might be too fast anywhere. Like I said above though, Rodgers could have a legendary game at any minute. He's due.
  9. I just see the Packers as close to 50/50 against anyone. With a bit worse odds against the Saints, but I still think it's a good game in Green Bay. I also doubt it will feel like 35 degrees by 6pm.
  10. I wasn't implying they're a poor road team and I'm aware of their W-L splits. I was just saying it's not the same daunting matchup outside their theme park. It'll be a raucous road environment in cold temps, how cold we don't really know yet but it won't be 68 with no wind on their track surface. There are places in the league I just never want to play and @NO is one of them. I wouldn't give the Packers a prayer on the road against that team but it just don't feel like it has the same blowout loss potential at home. I just don't really see the Packers odds shifting drastically one way or another no matter who they play. Philly can beat them at home and so can the Saints but I feel they have a chance against any of their potential opponents. At the same time they aren't a dominant team so I feel like anyone they get will be a game that goes down to the wire. So I just don't really care who they play 2nd round. They're not good enough for anyone to be a shoe-in opponent. The real leap I'd like to see happen is keeping the title game in Green Bay.
  11. I'm feeling pretty confident about the Packers chances against anybody besides SF on the road which is the only place they can play them. NO is an opponent where it's night and day based on where you play them. The rest of the teams are not significantly better than the Packers. The Packers could be one and done and it wouldn't surprise me at all but I'm not really throwing in the towel against anyone and that includes the Saints who I think would a lot of trouble in Green Bay. The Packers also have Rodgers which is always the ace in the hole. He's played poorly this year but at any moment he could be the old guy again. It's happened before when he snaps out of it and plays 5-7 games at an insane level. I think that's going to happen again just probably not this year.
  12. Fairly safe to say he'll be back next year I think. Two interviews with Carolina and being linked to CLE and DAL. They'd have to fire Garrett first but MM's name is sure being tossed around a lot.
  13. I like the Packers matchup with the Saints at home, I really do. Especially if it's cold and gross. I think they'll be OK.
  14. I think people always get way too worked up about the seeding. None of these teams are so good that they can cakewalk through anybody. SF is 3-2 in its last 5, winning by 2, 3 and 5. They lost to Atlanta in there, and yes the rest was a brutal schedule. They're my favorite, but there is just not that one dominant team. Whoever SF plays in the 2nd round is going to be a good team. Do you think they're that excited to potentially play SEA a third time, a pretty likely outcome? I'm just glad the Packers are back in this. Never thought in preseason they'd have a bye. Pretty amazing.
  15. Eh, I wanted SEA, but it's nice to see them suffer too.
  16. This is pretty much what Seattle's done all year. Let's hope they have one more.
  17. Yeah, I'm getting tired of that line myself. Do they have a WR problem? Sure. But that alone doesn't explain Rodgers. He is flat out missing guys when they have a step. He's overthrowing, under-throwing, and sometimes just not seeing them. The season they lost Nelson and Jones led the team in yards, he looked better than this.
  18. Jimmy is not that spectacular. That team is held up by its defense, not him. I've watched probably half of SF's games and he does throw the ball into traffic quite a bit. The problem is precisely that Rodgers hasn't been any better. But I wouldn't say he's surely been better than our guy. They're kinda the same actually. Decent on paper but pretty middle of the pack. The QBR reflects that.
  19. Call me crazy but I think the Packers will compete with NO if they get them. The Packers defense isn't the same awful one anymore and that's going to be a cold game against a very old QB leading a dome offense on a slow track. It's the best possible way to play that Saints team. The defenses are somewhat similar, both bend but don't break. If Minnesota is healthy I think their game with NO will be fun.
  20. Yeah that never happens.
  21. Oh, we didn't.
  22. SEA does look overmatched here. There's 40 minutes of game left but it sure feels like the cream is rising when it matters. If there anything I'm supremely confident of, it's the Packers will not go into SF and win a game.
  23. Seattle has a habit of disappearing for halves and then winning late.
  24. I think SF is. Seattle I was never as sold on. There were a ton of squeakers in those 11 wins. I think New Orleans and SF on good days are the class of the conference, followed by Seattle and Green Bay. I would give the Seahawks a bit of an edge but I think those two are 3a and 3b. I don't think they're as good as either of the other two.
  25. Marshawn Lynch looks straight up fat. Not football player fat, just a legit fat guy.
