  1. Telegraphing that was fine because Adams was open. That was a terrible throw. With any air under it that's a catch.
  2. Awful throw. Adams is open and that's a huge play with a good throw.
  3. I feel pretty good right now. Came out of that opening diaster and have a tie game going while able to run and play decent defense.
  4. Vikings offense is not quite lighting the world on fire but the Packers really can't fall behind. This just is not a big play offense built to play that way.
  5. That incompletion on third down is representative of why this offense is bad. There's a blitz that comes in free and Rodgers immediately finds a guy one on one. It's a good match up and a decent throw and the WR isn't even looking for the ball despite waving for it, runs toward the middle of the field instead of outside where the ball is and where any decent QB would throw it. It's the kind of busted play that Jordy Nelson made for 8 years.
  6. Middleton is overpaid but that's really an empty word in the NBA. Your hand is forced if you can't reasonably get someone better than the guy you have. What he is though, is really the only the guy the Bucks have that hits highly contested jumpers. They have some shooters, but Middleton can create a shot from nothing better than anyone they've got.
  7. "They should have paid me but they paid Eric Bledsoe." That's all this is about. When Bledsoe likely signed at a discount in the middle of the season the writing was on the wall. I'm not sure Brogdon offers what Bledsoe does on the defensive end of the floor. Brogdon may be a better player but it's one of those things where you have to look at incremental value. If paying Bledsoe instead means you can bring in Korver and Matthews then it just makes sense. Just using those names as examples, didn't crunch any numbers. But I think the incremental value was the decision maker.
  8. Like I said I'm not a huge fan, but when Rey put the lightsaber behind her and Kylo grabbed it, I thought that was one of the coolest moments in the franchise. My biggest gripe was Palpatine spelling out everything very slowly. "She will stab me with the saber. The ceremony will begin. I will eat a double cheeseburger" etc.
  9. And that's part of the reason I preferred #2 to #1. The #1 seed was likely to get the NFC West runner-up in the second round. Of course that's all out the window now if the Packers win and both those teams finish 12-4. It's hard to imagine Seattle sweeping SF as well. But the thought that Seattle and SF might both have to play Wild Card weekend is pretty fun. The Vikings aren't a sleepwalk opponent either. I mean, neither is Philly on the road either. NFC playoffs are going to be super fun.
  10. The seahawks actually have looked bad the past three weeks, some of it is definitely injury related but that's what happens in football. 49ers defense has been average at best since october aside from the Packers game. I dont see GB beating the saints in new Orleans, but a cold or sloppy weather game at Lambeau in January makes it interesting if they match up in the playoffs. A win tonight in any way, shape, or form is enormous in terms of playoff positioning. The Seahawks haven't come under the scrutiny the Packers have for whatever reason but they are a pretty damn similar team with an arguably shoddier defense. Wilson > Rodgers this season, but that team has been squeaking out crappy wins all year much like GB. They've been doing it less convincingly, IMO. The Packers win close, but many of the games are never really in doubt. Seattle has been pulling rabbits out of the hat all year. It's the Saint and 49ers above the field but that doesn't mean they'll come out of it. If the Packers win tonight they have a pretty favorable path.
  11. I'm not a huge Star Wars fan. I mean, that's disingenuous. The original trilogy bores me to death, and the 90s ones are just laughably bad to me. With that said, the Disney films are the only ones I've ever been able to sit through awake. They're fine. I think the whole franchise is drastically overrated. My kids love it, and I think that was always the intention. It's taken way too seriously and a lot of the fans take it too seriously. As a story itself, I think it's less creative than a lot of less heralded franchises. But everyone has an opinion. I thought the new one was fun, gave me chills at several moments. I certainly didn't think it was as bad as critics said.

  13. Gio is an odd player. He's had an extremely good career, and was incredibly productive in Milwaukee especially. And yet, nobody really wants the guy. It's just a bit strange to me. Inferior pitchers have and a much easier time getting signed.

  15. I think that's dead on. If they don't win, that becomes the narrative.

  17. If they don't win the East I think the Giannis meter goes from concerned to panic. If they can't do it this year he has to have doubts they ever will. It's a full on choke job unless he gets hurt. I'd give them a break on losing the Finals. Playing that Lakers team then won't be the same as in December. They SHOULD win the Finals, I think, but that's never a given.

  19. The Blue Jays did give out a Smoakey BBQ set consisting of a spatula and tongs. Not kidding.

  21. Umm, most of us peasants do not consider major league baseball as affordable at all lol you beat me to it. Far from affordable, in fact, it is down right expensive to go to a game at all. Tickets and parking alone are ridiculous. Add in gas money, food, drinks, etc and going to one game with 4 people traveling from Appleton will cost at least $200-$250, and that is with 400 level crappy seats. Sorry but I am strongly in disagreement that MP isn't affordable. Especially if we are comparing it to other teams and live sports in MKE/GB. Tickets are ridiculous? I don't even buy mine this way, but there are scalpers practically giving them away on many nights. There are multiple games a year where I have to sell mine on SH for the minimum allowed price of like $6. Then there are the million promoters giving them away with gas/pizza/ice cream/whatever. The food and drinks are huge varied expenses; I mean for christ's sake, they allow you to grill a brat and walk into the park with it. You can buy peanuts at Target and carry them in. The amount of crap they let you get away with amazes me. You can buy advanced parking for $10-15, and if you don't want to do that, grab one of the hundred shuttles and ride free with a $3 PBR. If you don't tailgate, which I normally don't, there is no reason to pay anything at all to park. I'll concede that I'm not driving from 3 hours away. But Miller Park is extremely affordable if you're willing to make it that way. I can get my family of 4 there on a Sunday for $65-$75 with just a little advanced planning. I'm not buying them all pizza and I'm packing lunches but we've done it many times. I'm not sure it's fair to bring gas into the equation; where somebody lives isn't their fault.

  23. That's a completely impossible thing to gauge with your eyes. And no, there were not 10k empty ticketed seats at 81 games. Sorry but that just did not happen. There have been a lot of giveaways for many years now that inflate those figures slightly but it still occurs when the team is winning. It happened at several games last year. You are drastically overstating it. The point is that winning is not what gets MOST, key word MOST people to MP. A website like this has a naturally inflated sense of the importance of this. A team like MKE cannot sustain itself relying on winning. It is the tailgate culture and climate controlled drinking + affordable family fun that's getting most people out on a given day. Not seeing a winner.
  24. I'm not, but the winning is definitely not getting a million more people in the gates. They drew 2.8m after a 74-win season in 2013. The fact is that since MP was built and the climate was controlled, the attendance has drastically increased, which supports the idea that MOST people really only care about having a nice day when they go. The evidence is much stronger for that argument than winning bringing people in. Both of those things attract people, that's obvious, but winning a bunch of games is not netting a million people. More like 300k. Significant but it's not a primary driver IMO. Another factor that can't be ignored is their use of extremely popular promotions over the last decade which is far more expansive than in years prior. The restaurants, the "experience," the bars...there's a much higher floor for attendance than there was in the 90s.
