  1. It really doesn't matter. There is not a lot of weakness in the field and the Packers aren't super powerful. They'll have to beat someone good no matter what. I don't think 1 or 2 matters much at all either. It's just fun to discuss the matchups. If the Packers win a game I couldn't complain about any outcome after that. You already really can't, but if they lose right away it really solidifies all the trepidation people have had all year.
  2. Neither one of those teams was as good as whoever loses the game tonight. I recall the SEA over NOLA game being a pretty popular upset pick because it was in Seattle and they were an up and coming team. Nobody really bought into that Cardinals team either. Their offense was absolutely awful and they lost 4 of 6 to end the year. If the Eagles did beat SF next week, I'm guessing more people would pick them than the Packers. But I think it's moot because they'll get crushed by anyone they get first round.
  3. Nobody will be an easy out for the Packers. This is who they are and what they've done an entire season. Playing Philly means they just beat an NFC West team. If they do that, I would honestly expect the Packers to lose that game, and I would guess that would be an extremely popular choice among fans. I'm not sure the Packers would be favored to beat anyone in the 2nd round other than Minnesota. Not even sure about that, since they'd also be coming off a big win and have to lose to us 3x. But they have the Cousins factor going for (against) them.
  4. Let me clarify that I'm not saying the Eagles are better than the Saints. But the Saints are a dome team, and if we're playing the Eagles that means they just beat SEA/SF and I'm not sure I want that wild card magic coming into town, especially a team that already beat us once. I don't think the Packers are going to the Super Bowl, so I'd rather just get the Saints in the most favorable situation you can and see what happens.
  5. I really think that's more of a nightmare than a dream. I really would not like the Eagles. The Packers are just not that good and another cold weather team that can score a lot of points is not a great match up to me. My dream would be the Vikings knocking off the 3 and coming to GB 2nd round. I'd also rather see the Saints in the 2nd round if the game's at home, over the Eagles. Let me see Brees in 10 degrees. I have some faith in our defense.
  6. Eagles and Cowboys are 4 or they're out. They can't be in any other spot.
  7. The bye is so big for the Packers. For obvious reasons but if Seattle can win it forces these two to play another week and get beat up. Then there is another chance the Packers get Minnesota at home in the 2nd round, which is no cakewalk, but you can see how much of a change there is getting that bye vs. not.
  8. Same. There was absolutely nothing exciting to me about that team. I didn't know what their record was last year but I would've guessed they'd be 6-10 this year. There's a team that does that every year and I can't remember it ever working.
  9. This is a house of horrors for Crosby. Need to get up to at least XP territory to call it auto. If he can't hit this get him off the playoff roster.
  10. Center ball and get us a week off, Mason.
  11. That interception isn't too bad circumstantially, but goodness Rodgers. That's six with some air under it. It's amazing. This is like a different guy.
  12. Call me crazy but I'd go for 2. You'd play for a hold and FG if you're tied so I don't think it makes a ton of difference. Might have been your best shot to win. Not a criticism of the obvious PAT call but I'd personally go for two.
  13. Yeah I don't know how anyone watching this can say he is not a net negative. There is nothing positive whatsoever about his play aside from not turning the ball over. He has been absolutely atrocious and is getting thoroughly outplayed by David Blough. Nobody said he wasn't a negative today. You called him a negative in reference to the team being the worst #1 seed which implies he's a negative in the season, which he's not
  14. That pass to Tonyan was a lot worse than the deep ball.
  15. Taking care of the ball isn't a good enough thing to hang your hat on if you expect to beat playoff teams. You have to make more throws than you're missing at some point. Rodgers isn't playing great but he's done a bit more than just that. He deserves a lot of criticism but there's a lot he's doing that's not in a box score and not appreciated because we don't have somebody a lot worse. Like Brett Hundley. To say he's not a positive is a stretch. I think we're all just sick of the offense and the bigger issue to me is that it never seemed to evolve as the season went on. I think Rodgers has not been the guy of old, but these receivers suck. Even Adams is not a real threat down the field, he's just not that guy and nobody has stepped up.
  16. Is there a worse #1 seed in history if they pull this comeback and Seattle wins? I can't think of one. Yeah. There have been some cupcakes that flukey grabbed top seeds. Believe the Bears did in the 90s at 13-3 with Jim Miller at QB. They could've been a 2. The Chiefs had a bad 90s team that did it. Just by virtue of having Rodgers, even as bad as he's looked, I'd venture without looking it up they're not the worst.
  17. Well the Lions are well versed in exactly what we need them to do now.
  18. I wouldn't hand Martinez a big contract if he had 9 sacks today.
  19. Packers are in serious trouble. They are not a big play offense built to rally from this.
  20. During the week leading up to the Vikings game, they scrolled a stat on the bottom line that Rodgers has the 2nd highest passer rating on deep balls this year. That doesn't mean a whole lot since interceptions kill a rating and he's so afraid of them he doesn't pull the trigger most of the time. Almost every quarterback had a few they toss up at the end of a half or game. In his defense there is seldom any separation on them. I don't think it's debatable though his accuracy has not been great.
  21. Yeah, something like this. I think you're closer than most want to admit. Even so, with what's on the line and on third string QB you'd think we could make this a but easier. The idea that if they practiced on Christmas though they'd be blowing them out or winning is hysterical. If they didn't care enough to show up today they wouldn't have blown the doors off on a Christmas day practice.
  22. The 12-3 Packers may lose to the Lions with a bye on the line and it's because they got Christmas off? Lol. They didn't respect this team. They better start.
  23. C’mom - you’d take Dak over Aaron Rodgers? He has the best offensive line in football, Zeke Elliot as his safety blanket, and a better pair of wide receivers in Cooper and Cobb ... and is still only 7-7. Plus, in addition to the better record, Rodgers also has a better passer rating. Would you still take Dak and Cousins over Rodgers? Yes? Lol. What a weird post. We're talking about the 2019 pro bowl here, not Canton. Rodgers has not been great this year.
  24. I think the Packers deserve some respect at this point. Last night was a game they should've been exposed and they weren't. Going on the road in an all-the-marbles game, fumbling inside the 25 on the opening drive and handing over (what should have been) a 7-0 lead, as well as kicking off to start the 2nd half. Turn the ball over 3x and still not only find a way to win, but play the entire game is pretty good standing. At this point the offense is what it is, league average. But if both lines play that well they're going to be really hard to beat, especially at home.
  25. Rodgers should wave Barr off the field.
