It's astonishing to me the number of complaints I've heard about our offense. This is 100% on the guys pitching out of the gate. They've been nearly the only thing catastrophically wrong with this series. Of course there's been bad swings here and there, but 9, 7 and 3 is fine. We'd have won yesterday without that suckfest from Preister. Our offense or lack of dingers isn't why the wheels are falling off. Four consecutive first inning bombs. Who the hell does that? -
Just wait. It's all table setting for him to be the difference on Saturday. This is what happens to us.

I'm much the same but someone has to start and they've all done the same thing anyway. Every guy in the dugout is already thinking "not this again." We are in big, big trouble.

This is going to be one of those games we'll lose 4-0 but I'll have to hear for 48 hours that our exit velocity was right where we need it.

Turang needs to get his ass in gear. Matters more than whatever P starts the game.

Peralta should get the start. But it's very easy to imagine him at 90 pitches in 3 innings. Everyone is nervous as they should be, I think that tends to make people exaggerate everyone's flaws as a legitimate reason they shouldn't get the ball. But you go with the horse that got you here to try and end this thing now. And honestly, I don't really have less faith in Miz than anybody else.

I'm trying to convince myself this was merely us beating the 08 Phillies in Game 3. Cute, but meaningless, as they went on to win it all.

Correct, that is the most delicious path, going right through Chicago. I would of course be depressed if we lost to LAD/PHL, but I consider the season a success generally if we win this series.

I mean if you want to do the rookie in a pressure situation thing, this was the game you do throw Priester. You have two more chances so he gets the lowest leverage start.

I just simply cannot feel optimistic about this. I don't know how anyone can. This team has absolutely ripped our heart out for the last 8 years.

Wasted a bullpen that will be asked to do this all over again. Probably twice.

Can't say Turang should have bunted or I would have made him. He's one of the guys you trust to bring that run in. But it's a situation where the bunt sure makes a lot of sense.

It's a slippery slope. Losing tomorrow on the road feels very plausible. Then it's a game 5. It's baseball. You go down 4-0 in the 1st and you're in trouble. The quicksand sinks you fast. I don't play, so I don't matter, but this game was the one I felt the most confidence in. Was hoping the Cubs just weren't up for it and would go quietly.

Was in the process of typing that I hated the walk because of the DP. Contreras was the guy I trusted to get a hit.

Turang continues to be terrible.

Jackson has to get over or this one's toast. Simply can't strand him here.

Bullpen deserves to win this game. Completely unreasonable ask of that crew and they've done it so far.
