    Let's all just be happy the Cubs don't end with Philly, who decided the season was over 2 weeks ago.

    Not sure about that. They can win this game and go 1-2 over the weekend and the Brewers would still win with a sweep. Sweeps are always a challenge, but it's at home against a gutted 60ish win team. The Cubs have a pretty brutal ending stretch of opposing SP. At this point, it is close to 50/50 between us. But basically if they lose today, we become the favorite.

    It's nice that all of the remaining Cubs games are during the day after tonight's. Barring rain, we will know their result well before the end of our game each day, and they will be under the pressure of not knowing we have lost.

    Same, but I'd prefer the Cubs winning the play-in game. I don't want the Cards in the playoffs again, it's all different guys, but I'm sick of playing them, and the Cubs making four straight LCS seems like bad odds for them.

    I think 2011 was the best team since 1982, but I think this team is the best team for a playoff series, which really is not the same as being the best team for 162 games. I think the current roster is constructed to get to the playoffs and then manipulate the series format to its strengths. The offense has a nice mix of young talent with OBP veterans who've played in huge games and been successful. The defense saves a lot of runs. It's a roster with such depth and so many moving parts that you can twist them a lot of ways to manipulate matchups and beat anybody in a single game. I want the division so badly because I really think we are poised to make a run.

    I suspect it will be very muted if the Brewers clinch tonight. Pretty clear the wild card is not the goal.

    I released mine immediately, but I think that's likely. I imagine many search best available and then are surprised when it's something more expensive than what they want.

    What is FIB? Field infield box, not a special section for Cubs fans.

    Didn't buy any more but the WC game is definitely the most scarce. Best available had FIB for all sections for the NLDS, for the WC I got Terrace 434

    STL has more of a random "uh oh" factor to me than the Cubs. I really don't think the Cubs are going to do much. That team looks exhausted, it is badly banged up, there is trash coming out of bullpen lately and they had a major clubhouse issue at the end of September. It isn't really that surprising if they flame out, four straight years in the LCS would be a really impressive feat in itself.

    Things change fast but neither STL or CHC are top of the list concerns for me right now. They both look so drained that they appear to be favorable matchups more so than any of the NL teams at the moment. The only matchup I'm trying to avoid is LA.

    No, they'd clinch tonight with a Cardinals loss.

    I don't really mind Schoop. He hasn't worked as we'd hoped but I still feel like he could turn it at any moment and that's worth keeping around. He can put together a quality AB better than a lot of guys. And when we make it to the World Series he is familiar with Red Sox and Yankees pitching.

    THIS. We wanted the last games to matter for the Cardinals. And they do, they always have, but they do even more now. The Cardinals would love to drag the Cubs down into a one game wild card playoff to move on..... IS IT GAME TIME YET?! I feel like a kid in the back seat on the way to a family vacation. Yeah, I can't take this, and I have ton of stuff to do, but I am just at an absolute 0 productivity level.

    I'm disappointed but content if we go a game back tonight. We'd just be hoping big time for a Cubs loss tomorrow and still be 1 back heading into the weekend, which is what my pipe dream was as the start of the week. Keeping pace tonight, or God willing, going .5 up, would just be icing on the cake.

    The Cubs aren't missing the playoffs. The semi-realistic dream is we knock the Cardinals out and the Cubs lose a WC game with Colorado.

    Also, 10/2 is Tuesday, the NL WC, so I assume the Division tiebreaker is 10/1.

    I think the Brewers have caught the wave and are going to win the division outright. Just getting that feeling. The Cubs look totally drained, both from the jam of games and off-the-field stuff. I think they're out of gas.

    It looks like the Brewers Insider is anyone who's purchased tickets directly from the team before. The email includes your account number is why I think that's the case. It's the same # as my SSH account and I got the same email. I also noticed they added communication and bolded it about the checkout process.

    Brewers win out they will win the division. Tall order but a half-dead Tigers team and one game in STL isn't impossible.

    I've just opted for ignore on Captain Ticket Police, but he has been doing that schtick since before the season began and doing it CONSTANTLY. I don't even sell tickets unless I can't go, but I find it beyond annoying on principle and he is oddly obsessed with it and brings it up at every chance.

    It is possible to, though I don't think in this situation, just a fun hypothetical: 1) Play a division tiebreaker game, lose it 2) End up tied for a 2nd wild card, win 3) Go play the wild card game
