  1. I'm content with however this falls. It's baseball. The Red Sox can lose a one game playoff to Baltimore. I'm just not losing sleep over what team and what pitcher it is. We can be shut out by anybody and will have to be on fire to do anything in the playoffs anyway. Glad to be in the tournament, let's bring it on.
  2. I don't think we have many "must win" games in the regular season. For the division, sure, but I don't do jinxes and we are surely headed at least to the wild card. We're at 99.7% and a magic number of five. It would be historic at this point if we didn't make it. Our division chance has increased to 19% which is pretty reasonable. But I still think it's important to go in playing well no matter what seed we are, instead of backing into it.
  3. It's never been out of grasp but the Brewers division probability has been hovering around 10% for a while.
  4. Woke up hoping the Cubs played at 1 or 3 or something. The waiting for the game is brutal this time of year. I gave up on the division weeks ago but another day that goes our way and it's within grasp. What a great season this has been.
  5. Big win. One more day like today please and things really get interesting.
  6. Just login to your my brewers ticket account at the alotted time. Haven't seen anything about a special URL and doubt there is one. Seems like that would actually make it less secure than tying it directly to the accounts.
  7. Cubs play Thursday and we have off, until then this annoying .5 game thing will be in play.
  8. Rally time. Got to have this one if we're making a real threat for the division.
  9. Yeah, it's the World Series. $200 to see the Brewers in the World Series in the venue? I'm all over that. It may happen once in my lifetime and that'd be lucky.
  10. But that's exactly what happened to the 82 Brewers. Down 0-2, and won 3 in a row to advance. I don't especially dislike going to Cubs games. They give me a chance to see sad/angry/disillusioned/worried Cubs fans after a Brewers win. They're not so mouthy then. I didn't buy the postseason strip because the Miller Park experience has soured on me. I despise waiting in traffic to park. The entrance lines are too slow. The food is spotty and at it's best is pretty unremarkable. The pace of action seems so slow to me. I'm usually too tired to last a whole game and then exhausted the next day. My days as a 20-pack holder are on hold for now. Maybe I need some time away from MP to rekindle my appreciation of it. Yes, but the mindset of most people will be that the series is over. I sympathize with your grievances. I park at or near Target though and come from the West, so there is no traffic really. Easy out too. I enjoy the walk through the park by the VA to the stadium, and I time it just right, or meet someone in the lot for tailgating. I rarely eat the food, but I think a few things are pretty good, and at least better than most sports stadiums. I have young kids, so during the regular season I don't see all the action anyway, we're up and moving around a lot. The 20-pk was awesome for me this year and there was no hesitation to renew. I had something to do all summer with the kids and it wasn't as much of a commitment as I thought, the games were well spaced out.
  11. I think the price would fall because Brewers fans will not want to take time out of the day/weekend to see a team down 0-2 in a best of 5. I highly doubt I would go to the games if that's the case. The secondary market will be flooded.
  12. IIRC the Cubs only came to MP once this year over a weekend and it was in April. That dictates a lot, a lot of SSH don't really want to bother making a Tuesday night game. The last series the attendance was barely over 30k. The series flow will dictate the attendance a lot. If the Cubs come to town up 2-0 MP will be a sea of Cubbie blue.
  13. That price won't hold. It's early movers trying to take advantage of planners and people who don't care at all about money.
  14. .... I wish the mods would step in on this topic and make a site-wide rule because it's getting ridiculous and a certain poster is the common denominator every time it comes up, getting on his moral high ground and dictating everyone's household finances. What makes me laugh about this idiocy the most is that most people sell the tickets on stubhub. You never meet the buyer and you don't get an alert that a "Cubs fan bought your seats." It is fast and easy and when time is of the essence that is what matters. I'm not dealing with Craigslist and Facebook no-shows and re-negs, I just need to get rid of the seats. I hate to break this to you but I bought an entire postseason strip and I'm sorry but I cannot physically make it to 13 games in 3-4 weeks. If the Brewers make it that far, I will have extras and they will be sold. Do you know what the postseason strip costs? I don't even have premier seats and my pair was $3k. What matters to me is being assured I have a couple tickets to the World Series and being SSH is the best way to do it. It would be great if only Brewers fans bought up my extras but needing to unload them doesn't always allow for that kind of selectiveness. Call me a "sell out" if it makes you feel better about yourself. I'm putting way more money into this team than you are.
  15. It just seems strange. Put up with him through god knows how many relapses, then suddenly cut ties because he's late to a meeting. The new regime must not want to fool around. I'd guess they probably know he's using again. Weird situation.
  16. I don't care who we play, I guess I'd say LAD who is I'd least like to see. Kershaw is most likely to throw a CG shutout, but it's baseball. Anyone can do that on the right night and we could light him up for 9 runs.
  17. Why did Cleveland cut him? I never saw anything besides really vague explanations. It seems really, really strange to stick with him all this time and now get rid of him.
  18. That seems harsh. King is a guy that battled injury in college, missing games every year except his senior year. I think I'm willing to give the guy a little more than one season and two games before calling him a bust, though. I don't think he's a bust, as their defense immediately became worse when he left the field and the Vikings went right after House and Williams matching up with Diggs. Williams may still have some vet value but he cannot run with a guy like Diggs. King can and they knew it. Unfortunately he can't stay healthy.
  19. King's never going to be a contributor. A corner that can't run without pulling a muscle isn't worth a whole lot. So that means more Davon House, who should not even be on an NFL roster.
  20. Contact will slowly be eliminated. They can't do it overnight so they are doing this. There is already a grassroots movement to kill youth football. Those things will not get better for the NFL with time and more science. I foresee a league in the future where we're playing two hand touch with sensors and every player is wearing gloves that sense when both hands have made a tag. There will still be blocking and hand fighting but tackling will be gone, as will rushing on offense but that's also been largely negated already anyway.
  21. For their offense maybe, but their defense cannot play fast, at least not up to this point. I'm not really using what they did in 2010 as a criteria for the current ability. Dom Caper's defenses had some dreadful performances in New Orleans and Atlanta. This defense is definitely faster even if it isn't better at all. I'm looking forward (not really) to the 10/28 game in LA as a true litmus test for this team.
  22. IDK how I feel about throwing 7 pitchers or something to get through a winner take all game. IDK if the data even exists to determine this, but at some point it feels like you are increasing the chances of needlessly taking somebody out and putting in somebody who's having an "off" day.
