  1. I'm not talking about any Lambeau Mystique but I'll argue all day that the Packers are better off against that team at home than they are in Minnesota. There are certain teams with whom the Packers are night and day home/away. You think the Packers would play Atlanta or New Orleans as well in their domes than at Lambeau? I don't. If we're talking about the Dolphins and Redskins then I don't think it makes a lick of difference. But the Vikings and the environment they cultivate when they play the Packers? Yes, absolutely think it makes a difference.
  2. I think that Vikings team is far away better than ours. They can still blow out an ACL but I think they are the favorites. To put it another way, I see us performing a lot worse in their house than they did in ours. They had a ton go wrong yesterday and should have won...after they should have lost, but still.
  3. ...Who's saying the Packers have weaknesses all over? I don't think anyone has said that. But where is the Vikings roster weak, on paper? OL is all I can point to, and they are missing starters with injuries. They had three backups in at one point yesterday. RB? WR? Nope, nope. The entire defense is loaded.
  4. The Vikings get even better signing Dan Bailey today. I'm not sure there's a weakness on that roster.
  5. I don't think that's as likely as it sounds as paper. We get a sweep and they lose a series and we are still trailing them. That's IF that unlikely scenario occurs. Right now the Cubs are ~86% to win Central. We are 13%.
  6. I think the division is gone. The Cubs would probably have to really fall off for us to pick up 3ish games with 12 to play. The realistic goal is getting the WC at home. I think we are well-built for that game with our pen. You need 4 innings from a starter and you're fine. Could do something unorthodox too like let Burnes start or something. I like our chances in that game against anybody.
  7. At this point you really have to wonder if flags are the end game. Doing that overnight would cause a huge uproar, but making the game harder to watch slowly and then fixing it by bringing flags in is probably a better strategy. At this point at least the QB wearing flags would be better than we have.
  8. Would be fun to find a new way to lose that doesn't involve the other team's QB throwing for four benjamins.
  9. How can you have a pass rush when it's a penalty to blow the QB a kiss? The only defense you can hope for in this trash era of "football" is hurrying a throw and getting a pick. Oh wait, they did that. Also a penalty.
  10. We can lose to anyone and have been "that" team for like 5 years now. Any middling journeyman QB can put up 500 yards on us and that's all it takes. There's not a game on the schedule I pencil in as a win. We haven't been able to close like that for several years now.
  11. At least one of the teams in that lot will be like 4-1 when we play them, my money is on SF. And one of those brutal teams will have collapsed by then.
  12. The division winners get much bigger advantages in other sports. Home field is not nearly as important in baseball than other sports and winning a division gets you home field in the NFL. In football two division winners also get to skip an entire round. But the argument I'd offer is that the baseball season is extremely long. Winning a division is a very impressive feat on its own, so I think there should be a distinctive advantage. There was no such thing in the previous set up, the wild card team was basically on equal footing. Even more so in situations where the WC got out of playing the top team because you couldn't play a team from your division in the NLDS.
  13. I thought that game was over about seven times, the last of which in our favor was our possession in OT. Rodgers mishandling that fake killed the drive. We were well on our way to a chip shot field goal and then did the one thing we could not do, essentially get sacked twice. It was an awful performance.
  14. I wish I could cheer up but I'm seeing the exact same crap again. It'd be a completely different story if we lost 16-13 because you know we'll eventually score. But I can't get past 425 yards and 4 touchdowns. And why, why oh why, was Davon House running alongside Diggs? Literally out slowest player in the secondary chasing their super athlete. Unimpressed by Wilkerson, Graham and Pettine thus far. At lease it looks like Alexander and Jackson can play.
  15. It puts a lot more value on winning your division which should be a huge advantage. The Wild Card should be a harder path to winning a World Series and in the past it wasn't, now it is. This is one of the better changes they have made. Also teams play different schedules, being better by a game or two over 162 really means nothing at all. If there is a 20 game gap between teams I get your point but most of the time it is 2 or 3 games and that is nothing. If you want the highest chance to win in the playoffs win your division, every team has plenty of time to accomplish that. I think this is the best argument for it that I've seen.
  16. That tie is a loss. The Packers won't best them in Minnesota so all it does is assure that to win the division the Packers have to finish a game up on them. Defense was terrible again when faced with a decent QB, and maybe he has time to do something, but Graham has done nothing. That drop in the end zone is a play he has to make. Settling for field goals ultimately lost the game.
  17. Atrocious. How you lose that game after the Ha-Ha pick is amazing. Conservative offense until the very last time they had the ball. Roughing penalty was terrible, but we got one too. Crosby chokes. Their guy chokes. But the biggest problem? A decent QB and what happens? 425 yards and 4 touchdowns. We're the same team. 10-6 IF Rodgers stays healthy. Team's going nowhere. Graham has been a huge disappointment thus far. Not a game changer at all. Had a couple chances to make a statement today and dropped passes.
  18. Man oh man if the Cubs drop this one...it is ON. No point in being content with a wild card anymore. We can be better than them for 15 games.
  19. All sports should let the division winners in the playoffs, but the playoffs should then be re-seeded from there. It's stupid that it's never done that way IMO
  20. IDK how others feel about it, but I really dislike the expanded wild card. I know we could be the 5th team in, but I didn't like it from the start. It just feels unfair to the 4th team in the event they lose the game, especially if their record is much better than #5. My main reason for wanting the division is that I'm hoping the Cubs lose that game so we don't have to play them in the first round. I really also don't like how they made division matchups possible for the NLDS.
  21. The lack of communication on Rodgers means nothing. They're not going to come out and say he's ok. No NFL team is going to do that. My total guess is that he sprained his MCL and if it were another player they would sit 2-4 weeks.
  22. Didn't expect a sweep, my goal going in this series was to pickup a game. If this one gets out of hand we should white flag it and save our arms.
  23. On the dropped INT there is a no-call illegal contact. Adams is basically decked off his route and that's why nobody is near the ball but Fuller. Just something I didn't notice live.
  24. I don't think he'll miss time unless he re-injures it, which could happen. Not excited about facing Minnesota's front with him gimpy. The offense got better when he was hurt, because they went with the short, quick stuff and stopped the dance around until we find a home run offense. They do that so routinely it's become maddening to watch. On the touchdown to Adams to pull within 3, that is a play that Rodgers take off running 99% of the time. The only reason he didn't was because he couldn't. Despite that he's getting torn apart, I thought Kizer actually looked ok if he does need to fill in for a couple weeks at some point. He had things moving until the strip sack, which was a great play by a great player, but he's gotta take better care of the ball. I'm hanging the pick-6 squarely on McCarthy. They needed to get out of the half at 10-0, not call a timeout and force your backup QB to make something happen with 50 seconds left. That was absolutely terrible coaching.
