  1. I don't know if the ump inserted himself into the outcome. He obviously thought it was the right call. No one is going to feel worse than that ump when he sees that replay.
  2. I'm guessing that response was in reaction to Griffey basically whining about retiring because he doesn't get any playing time. All I can say is, play baseball your entire life and be a superstar, then let's see how you react when you're suddenly benched. The only thing you've ever done, and you're basically told you can't do it anymore. Even if you are hitting .180, you wouldn't be happy about it either.
  3. I don't know about "small" but it's outside the top 10, and shrinking rapidly.
  4. It's just a hunch but I really feel like that was the final straw for Suppan. I bet he's gone by the end of the week.
  5. I think that was the last pitch Suppan will ever throw for the Brewers, and possibly ever.
  6. Ugh. I've been busy and haven't been able to follow the team extra closely. I check in when I can, but Fielder is still down at .264? Get it together.
  7. Between the multiple mansions and owning a pro baseball team, I think he's done OK for himself.
  8. To be fair, I thought he caught it in live action. Wasn't even close though. Braun covered that up and played it pretty nicely.
  9. I've been looking for this for what seems like forever. Can't seem to ever find it anywhere. If anyone has one they could part with, let me know. I'm also interested in the power blue Gantner the Woodchucks gave out, I just don't want to buy the one that's constantly on eBay. Thanks, let me know.
  10. I hate to be the Debbie Downer but Lucroy's numbers in AAA are awful. It is a small sample size and I'm not saying he's not going to be a good player, but we call up a guy hitting .244 with a terrible OPS and OBP and this is supposed to make us better? He hasn't adjusted to AAA so why would anyone think he's going to adjust to MLB? He's also walked THREE times. It's one thing if you guys are just excited to see him play, but does anyone think he's better than Zaun right now? Because I sure don't. We're a lot worse at catcher than we were 24 hours ago.
  11. I think a 20-game losing streak would be hilarious. We're not going anywhere, so why not?
  12. This season is a lost cause. Blow it up ASAP. Trading Prince Fielder is a good start to revamping a pitching staff that is truly putrid. There is still some solid foundation there. Braun, McGehee, Escobar, Gallardo, some guys in the minors who should be OK. A lot of dead money is coming off the books next year. I think the Melvin era is over. I'm not going to rip the guy to shreds because he did get us back to October. A lot of people before him failed to do that, let's not forget that. I just think it's time for a new philosophy at the top. This one's run its course.
  13. I can name at least five guys I would DFA before Gerut.
  14. Here's my ridiculous idea. Granted this is in my fantasy land where the players go along with it, which probably wouldn't ever happen, but... Forget about starting pitchers. We don't have any, so let's stop pretending that we do. I say pitch every game by committee. Stop calling them relievers, closers, starters, etc. Just treat every guy like you now treat a reliever. Everyone on the pitching staff pitches 1, 2 or 3 innings. Use like seven pitchers a game, and just use them more often. They shouldn't be throwing more than 40 pitches a night so they shouldn't be throwing anymore innings than they do now. I am still kinda drunk. Off to bed.
