  1. Indeed and I see why he wasn't swinging a bat lol. That was honestly a great event though and I was very surprised they televised it. Most stuff like that is such a dud, and yes they didn't do much with their bats, but I was shocked by how many fans stayed there for it, how many guys they got to show up and the overall energy. It was just refreshing. The players all seemed to be so grateful and really enjoyed being there and seeing their old teammates. It was awesome.
  2. His son is on the U13 Whitefish Bay team that will be on ESPN this weekend. I am sure that team is getting some analytics done and facility access that doesn't seem fair. That's all I got ;) On a serious note, I think the consensus will be this season was disappointing if we lose our first playoff series again. I think that's more than fair. This is looking like it could be the best pitching staff we've ever had. Sure, the offense lacks some firepower here and there, and the World Series is just such an incredibly difficult thing to do, that I would never make that the bar regardless of how good the team is, baseball is just a brutal game of chance sometimes. It's completely fair to be disappointed and point out there isn't enough talent offensively IF that happens again. Thing with MLB though, is that I don't know what else there is to do. The disparity of resources makes it very clear to me that your best bet is exactly what they're doing. Make it every year and hope you get lucky eventually. The criticism of what GB has done in the postseason is much more fair than this. I don't see it as settling. I think with MLB, it's just being realistic.
  3. I absolutely love the alternate uniform. The helmet is awesome.
  4. Greedy, but this is almost a bummer. Likely we take 12 of our last 13 and missed the Webb special by a 1-0 loss. Ouch.
  5. I've been meaning to whine about this for over a year, but you shouldn't be able to consult a video to determine whether or not you're challenging. You should have to make that call on the naked eye alone.
  6. Typically they'll come out around 11 wins and say they'll do it if they get to the magic number. They did it a few years back. 2018 maybe?
  7. As painful as it's been he's a 2WAR catcher this year. That's why he isn't sitting. He got the ASB off. I would have preferred they sent him home a few days before that and given him an extended break.
  8. I won't complain but thank God that 6th run crossed in time because that runner at 3rd was hosed and moving like a sloth.
  9. The Dodgers have done everything to give this game to us. It will be a real shame if we don't take it.
  10. I'll bite. I don't think Peralta is a true ace. He seems like a great guy, and a good player. 3 is a stretch. He's a very good 2 IMO. He was great today, but typically he really labors to get through 5 innings. It takes him too many pitches to get guys out. It sounds like cherry picking a flaw, which I suppose it is, but it's what keeps him beneath the upper echelon of guys in my opinion.
  11. Glad they're taking him out and hope he's ok as of now. They have a week off and are up 3-0 against a bad team. It would be reckless to leave him in to further aggravate whatever may have happened.
  12. A million players in every league bow out of this game because they are tired, want to catch up on Netflix or whatever. You don't get to be surprised by something like this when you make a tradition of doing that. The players have played a huge role in making this game illegitimate by their standards. The league is trying to make it the exhibition it's supposed to be. TLDR: Get over it.
  13. I've accepted this alt stuff is here to stay, but I wish the Packers would do something really fresh with it. Homage to County Stadium with Braves/Brewers color scheme or something. I'm just bored with the traditional scheme or the Acme stuff. Just do something new.
  14. I think we have the best team in the division. I just feel confident that we will overtake the Cubs. I think they pitch to contact too much and are too top heavy offensively. Over 162, the best pitching team will take it.
  15. I feel better than I have about the offense in about 7 years. Not because it's amazing but because it feels less reliant on two guys pretty much needing to be on a tear.
  16. Dame was a team guy. He left it out all there. Didn't work and he got hurt. But I still think Milwaukee wouldn't have been his first choice. He can rehab from home now, not have to be around any club, and then choose where he wants to be role player and maybe chase a ring.
  17. Dame getting hurt was oddly the best imaginable outcome for the Bucks. I doubt any of this happens without that. It forced them down a road they probably hadn't even thought of. Yes it comes at a substantial cost, but with the injuries in the East and the way this further depletes Indiana, I can't really think of a way that the Bucks could have given themselves this much of a chance.
  18. Athlon is a clickbait rag. That said, no ill feelings toward Dame. It just didn't work. It never worked. It was a valiant attempt on the part of the Bucks to grab the biggest name that was out there. A true second star, at a time when it was obvious the Bucks needed a reliable scorer. They just never played off each other the way you wished they would have. I applaud the Bucks for biting the bullet and moving forward. I don't know that they'll be any better. I would think that they will be, but I know for a fact they weren't going to get back to the Finals with Giannis and Dame.
  19. He probably said the equivalent of he "feels bad about it" and someone ran with that.
