  1. I feel much the same about Stearns. I don't care, but I have no ill feelings. I actually do think Counsell has feelings about it, but I'm not sure regret is the right word. $40 million can justify a lot in your head. I think Counsell is going to have feelings about how he is remembered by the city. I just don't think you can possibly shake all of that from your being, growing up 10 minutes away, having a parent work for the team, caring enough that you want to end your career playing for that team, then managing them nearly to the pinnacle of the game. When he retires and is well adjusted to his life of luxury and no pressure, I think he's going to have to have some feelings about what he did to his family's name in the minds of Brewers fans. I just don't think it's humanly possible not to experience some of that. You'll never get me to believe that Counsell's dream wasn't winning the Brewers a World Series. To leave for their rival, then potentially watch them do it without you while you become the #1 enemy of most of the fans...there is no way that doesn't sting, no matter what bad acting he's doing for the media.
  2. He went to go run the team he was probably dreaming to play for when he was 10...not the same thing as Counsell at all. If he were Counsell he'd leave the Mets the season after getting them back into the playoffs for more money from the Yankees and pretend he was doing it to "help all other GMs."
  3. Ridiculous and unprofessional play in which the crybaby threw a flag only because he got hit. They can all go. I'm ready for AI.
  4. This isn't the first time I've heard Jacobs referred to as a terrible human being etc. It all seems drastically overboard for a situation in which almost no actual information has been dispersed. Is anyone going to change their thoughts on the matter if there is a video released and it shows him being hit repeatedly by a pool cue as has been rumored? Of course it could be another Ray Rice video. I guess I shouldn't be, but I still get surprised by how people react so strongly to incidents like this given how many times the initial narratives end up upside down once details are learned. I keep waiting for the day people hold judgment until there's actual information to use. Guess I don't care about it too much either way. He isn't one of my friends, just some guy who carries a football.
  5. Team sucks. I feel nothing, no pain, no anguish. There's enough talent bubbling to the surface that all hope is not lost, but LaFleur is so stale and uninspiring I think we have already seen their ceiling. I've always felt like the line between 8 and 13 wins is very thin, and is crossed by making field goals, scoring points off turnovers, not going 5 yards on a 3 and out and missing a kick, etc. It's just the stuff that happens on the margins that makes you mediocre. Someone will inevitably look back at this season and make the observation that they "lost so many close games" and while it's true, it's just what happens when you're average. Good teams win most of those games, the Packers can't finish. I can't even look at today's game in a vacuum and say something LaFleur did that was really stupid. Don't have a big issue with any of the 4th downs. I just think it's the overall MLF experience. They can't run the ball at all and that's not helping. He needs to go, but this season feels like more of a talent void on the offensive line than anything he's messing up.
  6. You were right, just not in the way you meant.
  7. Lloyd is in good company. Smack is also not an NFL player.
  8. St. Brown attempts a double leg takedown and we draw a 15 yard penalty only because he also ends up kicking the official in the stomach. Fascinating stuff.
  9. I do because the Packers don't have even the threat of a running game. That's the easiest area of the field to defend the pass. Their defense is again playing well enough today to place a premium on field goals. Only problem is they might miss them.
  10. Neither will incomplete passes on 4th down. It's 10-7 3 minutes before half. Seems like an odd generalization.
  11. Harder area of the field to convert, much more limited playbook. They have no running game, so the defense is only playing the pass in that very small area of field. I was ok with that call.
  12. Dodgers subreddit is hysterical. It's all about how this World Series just isn't interesting and it's just two mediocre teams playing really bad baseball full of mistakes. Ok guys 😂
  13. Feels more like a sweep again. I think the fan presence is going to be downright embarrassing. Brewers setting merchandise records and the difference in watch parties at both stadiums has been humiliating. I think half that stadium is going to be Milwaukee fans. I don't think anything is over, players decide the games, but Tampa is reeling.
  14. Get up to the plate and stare at 6 pitches and then cry about a check swing, you sealed your own fate. That's about the weakest call/no call to complain about. They had so many opportunities to do something after the 1st inning. They have nobody to blame but themselves. I could not care less about that call even if it was incorrect.
  15. Torn on this. Obviously game to game I am wanting wins. I am minorly peeved we have closed out every series on the road. Unlike LAD where I felt like dropping a game even at 3-0 could immediately turn things, I think it's less likely with Tampa, their pen, and how gassed everyone is at this stage. If we have a 3-1 lead in this series I feel pretty good.
  16. Whining about a check swing call is about as pathetic as it gets. Don't swing at all then. And then the assumption the next guy doesn't get out anyway. I'd just counter with the run we had stolen in the 8th. Couldn't care any less. Total non-controversy. Don't blow a 4-0 lead with your ace on the mound.
