  1. I think that's a bit harsh. They haven't put anyone into the NFL who's a superstar but they've had some pretty good college QBs since the 90s.
  2. Yeah, I am not really worried about Love. There is too much talent and 'wow' moments to not see the obvious, he's extremely good. Long term anyway. Whether he is hurt, the offense is out of sorts, or whatever is wrong this year, I am not really worried about him down the road. I just hope they can make a run this season.
  3. Depends what version of the Packers shows up. They are capable of looking like the best and also about 11th best on any given day.
  4. Well, I hope that was the turning point of the season. It felt like it.
  5. This team is really bad. The cast of role players is embarrassing - it would be hard for a random fan to put a worse group together. I thought Brook was cooked two years ago, but the rest of the guys mentioned above bring absolutely nothing to the table. I'd rather take a bunch of G League flyers and try to find the next Khris Middleton. The Giannis era is over in Milwaukee. I hope he gets a dignified end and is traded somewhere to win before he declines. He isn't absolved of guilt as he demanded a lot of the bad decisions, but that's par for the course in the NBA.
  6. I would say Tolzien is up there as far as UW QBs go. Stocco too. I don't count Russell Wilson.
  7. Careful. It was extremely controversial to suggest the first game wasn't over the moment the opening kickoff was in the air.
  8. Yeah, I'm hopeful for an OK season, but it's based more on gut feeling than anything I've seen. If they can get Khris for 2/3 of what's left, it helps. He is old and held together by Elmer's but when he does play he provides a significant value that no one else on the roster does. Giannis and a couple bright spots should be enough to win 45 games. I have a hard time believing they are as bad as their current standing, but I thought the same thing about the Jets.
  9. I want no part of Adams. Guy seems a bit like Rodgers Jr. And I like both Rodgers and Adams...it's just, let's cut ties to that era. Even though I'm sure you're referring to what is basically a role player. By next year at least a couple of those WRs should be coming along nicely. I don't disagree with what you're saying as far as a reliable veteran being helpful, but I'd rather just turn the page and get someone a bit younger while you're at it.
  10. I'm not a Badgers fan but I just was Googling around and Ron Dayne's entire offensive line from his senior year went to the NFL. That's insane.
  11. I would be interested to see if Zach Wilson ever gets another chance somewhere. This really makes you wonder how much of that was him. Whenever I watched him play I thought he would have stretches where he looked pretty good and made some really nice throws. It's hard to imagine any QB being drafted there and succeeding now.
  12. That was a pretty dumb attempt.
  13. I can't see the Packers getting the division. They are effectively two games back of both even with a DET loss and have to go on the road with both as well as play some other losable games. It's within reason that they find something in the second half here and win the NFC, but it's hard to envision they pass both in the division with how inconsistent they've been all year. I'm fine with it though. I've watched that division championship/bye week/ home field advantage failure play out more times than I can count.
  14. It's not terribly surprising but I wish Rodgers had done something, anything, after leaving GB. Like go to the playoffs once and just show you can still play. I don't think he is really the Jets biggest issue, but it's a bit of bummer to see it play out so meekly. I don't see him wanting to retire but I don't see the Jets wanting him to play again. I don't follow cap dynamics but I assume they all but have to bring him back.
  15. Yeah, they're just a bad team. Their softer schedule doesn't matter because they are just bad. Vikings stink too, obviously not as bad, but, at this point I think it's probably better off they make the playoffs and keep someone actually good that gets hot, out of it.
  16. I don't think the Bucks are 1-6 bad. I think they'll get it together enough to be a top 5 team in the East. I just don't think they're a championship team anymore. And yes, Doc is horrendous.
  17. I think going for 2 in those situations is almost always a 50/50 and if you miss it you get criticized but if you don't go for it and lose you also get criticized. The way both offenses were playing, I would have gone for it. Wouldn't like my chances if I didn't win the toss in OT.
  18. If I gave Mahomes the ball with 27 seconds left and a 1pt lead, I would honestly think it's more likely that I lose than not.
  19. The Bucs are a very interesting team. They have some very high quality wins, nearly knocked off KC, but are still middling and have some bad losses. Wins against WAS, DET, PHL, and a 51-point game in NO. Two OT losses to KC and ATL.
  20. It's just a show to publicly and definitively have Love's back. I don't think it's a big deal. It's their job to ask the questions, it's not his job to point out how bad he's playing and give them easy articles to write.
  21. It was obvious that Jacobs was a huge part of the plan and I think he would have had 30+ touches if the game had remained close. And they really were not stopping him at all. That was the worst part about that pick. It set them into a panic and of course one possession into the half they were down 24-3. It basically took him out of the game. I know nobody likes it but in certain situations I am content to run out the clock and yes, even kick the ball to start the half. There's just so much that goes wrong like it did yesterday. With the amount of slop that had already taken place, that was the exact situation I would have ran the ball on first down to see what kind of gain you get and then be content to just go to half down 10-3.
  22. That ball is pretty darn close to being where it should be if Watson just keeps running. It's out of the danger zone where the other safety would kill him too. I hope he was asked about that play. I'm genuinely curious if he just lost the ball or Love threw it where we wasn't supposed to.
  23. Yeah, what? Lol. It lands almost on the nose at the 25. That was a bizarre play. And Watson absolutely toasted that defender right out of his break.
  24. Love isn't having a good season. He's been throwing enough TDs to keep the hot takes mostly quiet. He has a QBR in the 50s and a completion % flirting with sub-60 to go with league-leading INTs despite missing 2.5 games. 5-straight wins and 6-2 made it hard for anyone to bring up, but he has not been good. I am not long-term concerned about him being the QB, but he is struggling and just hasn't been good. I have said this in prior weeks, but he is the biggest problem on the team right now. They won't ever be good across the board, but you need way more out of the guy you mortgaged everything on. It's kind of a reason for optimism that they're still in playoff position with how much he has struggled.
  25. I really don't think any of this has anything to do with weather. They just sucked at too many key moments. They've been dropping the ball in summer-like conditions all year. They were moving the ball ok most of the game and then suddenly they just wouldn't. I have been wondering to myself all year if they actually need help at WR. They have a stable of 2s or 3s but I am not sure they have a real stud at that position that can be counted on all the time. Maybe they are just too young to have to that yet. Reed would be that guy if they have one, I guess. But they held a team that has just scored 42, 47, 52 and 31 to 17 offensive points. Two touchdowns scored on 4th down. They were also gashing them right up the gut at will until they got so far behind they couldn't run. Horrible in game decisions from the coach, thought stalling out on the opening drive and kicking a FG was big, too many huge drops...just so many unforced errors. I just think weather is a low hanging fruit. They've been completely schizophrenic all year in mostly sunny conditions.
