  1. I really don't "hate" Brady. I do HATE all the press and talk he tends to get. I would loath to think of the sports coverage if he makes the SB again. His leadership ability and ways to rally a team are simply impressive. I've never been much of a Belicheck fan, however...
  2. Maybe we have a different determination of "should", but I separate skill from affordability. I think Jones would be the best player to have back - age, explosive skill player. But also the most likely to cash in in FA. If he gets the Melvin Gordan treatment, I wouldn't snub him from returning. Likewise with King. He has been an injury prone average-ish CB that provides good diversity to Alexander's style of play. It would need to be a low figure, but I'd take him back. He is probably a target to replace in the draft regardless of him returning or not (at least as a backup for injuries). I get the feeling Linsey is going to be less volatile in price (no injury red flags, consistent play, centers are centers) and going to find something out of our price.
  3. Billy Turner and Rick Wagner been very good since Bahk went down. Wagner has already "dipped" a bit with the Lions (but hey, maybe it was the Lions), but he will turn 32 next year. Both Turner and Bahk turn 30 next year and playing strong. But there are a few key positions where you simply pay up when you have a guy in the top-5 of the league. QB, CB, WR, Pass rusher, LT - that is 90% of the game these days. We are in the position to go to the SB because we have a top-5 QB, WR, CB, and LT. Not sure if Z quite makes the top 5....Gary might someday. Also, how is it I've not noticed Billy "William" Turner and made a pirates of the Caribbean joke? Maybe Rodgers should try a Captain Jack Sparrow facial hair for training camp next year? And speaking of name oddities... I mentioned this in the game thread, but we scored a TD almost immediately afterwards. AJ Dillon has four names (and is a "junior" to boot): Algiers Jameal William Dillon So, if you wonder why the Packer's picked him, he is literally the combination of Aaron Jones (AJ) and Jamaal Williams. Even his second name Jameal is so close to Jamaal - just steal the "e" from Jones. #thingsIfindAmusing
  4. I can't speak as an authority, but I was always taught to shoot the ball in a smooth flow - bent knees, bent back, dribbling the ball prior to the shot. Then you slowly straighten your legs->back->arms to actually shoot the ball (hard to explain, but think of it as a "wave" going through your body and up and out your arms). Doing it that way helped me go from 50%/75% in game/practice situations to 75%/90+% - (high school ball) Giannis makes me hurt every time he stands up (kind of a jarring motion - not smooth), then brings the ball up to shoot well after his legs/back are straight.
  5. I'm alright with that. When King's healthy, he's a ball hawk and he has the size and athletic ability to matchup. More concerning to me would be Sullivan in the slot on AB and then whoever is asked to cover their big TE's. Our LB'ers are not capable. Amos has been elite in coverage this year and Savage is coming on, but Gronk's usually good for a few big plays. We DO have the #2 secondary in the NFL...so I should probably be more confident. Brady's gonna give us a couple of chances to come up with some turnovers I think(and hope). Yes, I think King gets a lot of complaints, but overall, he is pretty solid. His worst games seem to be when he has been off for a few weeks for an injury and comes back. If he'd just stay healthy, he'd be above average normally. King also gets some unfair complaints for being 8-12 yds deep, but he is playing the scheme at that point (i.e. following orders). The third reason he gets complaints is because he isn't Alexander... When you have someone that good on the other side, it is natural to hold him up to that bar also. I think (hope?) Amos will be playing Gronk. He has been very good this second half of the year. Both teams are very good to get to this point... Should be a good game.
  6. It didn't work out well for him. Hopefully, it works for us better.
  7. No idea who Penne was throwing to... the easiest INT ever.
  8. No Boyle in victory formation? Nice job guys! Clean win against a good playoff team. So tomorrow is Old QB Bowl I and next week is Old QB Bowl II?
  9. Don't need Jones here. 100 yards is pretty, but a healthy playoff run is prettier.
  10. Pass rush for the win! There is your dagger!
  11. Ha! All the talk about "special hand signals" QBs have. Rodgers: "Hey!" *Points down field* -> Lazard TD.
  12. LAZARD! Welcome back young man! We missed you.
  13. Nice job on MVS keeping his knee up and stretching out!
  14. As much as I'm excited about Dillon, I'm ok with him getting his looks next year (or late when we have a big lead). He still is a rookie...
  15. And right on cue, Mr. Gary. Running through a pretty damn good LT and forcing the checkdown. Really hated the look pre-snap with every DB playing about 12 yards off, but Gary made it work. When they have to get 16 yards, being 12 off isn't a bad idea. Make it short and tackle.
  16. whew that was close. No turnovers guys.
  17. And Gary immediately gets the pressure!
  18. Nice move by Lowry to bust up the middle. Clark got the sack, but Lowry made it happen. I think the Ram's uptempo play has prevented getting Gary in.
  19. Scott needs to learn to flop on that.
  20. Brice is a 3rd string NT. Why is he in there?
  21. Yes, he is our best OLB for pass rush + run defense.
  22. another hooray for our special teams....
  23. I just think they didn't want the ball in Scott's hands again!
