  1. Fired high school soccer refs putting on the black and white stripes today.
  2. A Jewish teenage girl that lived 2000 years ago could've made a better call than that.
  3. What a joke... Ball was out.
  4. Nice hit by Sandborn!
  5. I've had Sling in the past, so I went to look at that first. They have a 3-day reactivation free trial. So I can get the blue package plus the BIG10 add-on free for 3 days.
  6. Agreed. I'd think if there was any hesitation at all for it, the would simply buy more time by saying - we are going to keep it for 2021 due to COVID concerns - and then buy yourself another year to determine if it is permanent. Seems like there is a lot of thumb twiddling over nothing here.
  7. I was thinking the exact same thing. Here is our Claudio without trading a draft pick.
  8. I was surprised last night to find out that in the Twin Cities market, I can't watch the Badger/Gopher football game, nor any of the NFL games on Saturday... I guess I might have to try fubo too.
  9. No, there are still times when the OLB's responsibility is in coverage. Every time we aren't blitzing (rushing 4), we have an OLB in coverage: - In base, there are three DLs and one OLB pass rushing. - I rarely see Z in coverage, so mostly Preston or Gary. - In (some) nickel defenses, Z switches inside and Preston/Gary are the OLBs, so you have 2DL, Z, and one OLB in pass rush with one OLB in coverage. I'm not sure what percentage of snaps we play with those defenses (and there is a pass), but the most obvious pass defense is Gary, Z, Preston, and Clark pass rushing. So no OLB in in coverage for that situation of course. We typically have 3CBs, 1MLB, and 3 safeties at that point in coverage. I've not seen Preston on a WR - that obviously is to be avoided. His overall play has really elevated the last 4 weeks or so.
  10. Looks like it's going to be a fun class. Got to see some of them play the last two year. I think that Woehler kid is going to be an absolute monster. I know a few guys on that staff as Muskego including the HC...that kid hits as hard as anyone I've watched at the HS level. To be fair, I didn't see Allen play much. Interesting that them adding ANOTHER OLB pushed them past A&M. That's a pretty big deal the way Jimbo's got that program going down there(and the state from which they get to recruit). Hopefully, their performance increases in the same increments that their recruiting classes have. They'll be playing for Natty's. Just gotta dive into that transfer portal this year and look for some impact talent at WR'er. If ever there was a year to really pick up a couple of transfers to get you over the top, it'd be with the young talent we've got on the way and players free to play right away. Edit-They're not ranked 15th on ESPN and Texas is ranked 16th with A&M at 12...but they definitely had the Aggies ranked below us just yesterday when I read this comment and checked to see who we'd have added that moved us up a spot. Given that (by using Rival's rankings) the incoming class of 2019, 2020, and 2021 are the best three incoming classes in the last 20-some years (whenever Rival did the rankings), the next few years could be VERY interesting for WI football. I was also surprised to see on 5 star and two 4 star OTs all signing together. That will be some strong competition. Edit- Looks like Benzschawel will move inside to guard with Rucci and Mahlman staying at T.
  11. [sarcasm]We can thank Hulu for ensuring Giannis got enough endorsements to stay in Milwaukee![/sarcasm]
  12. I can understand being frustrated by any "real" signings, but I don't know how you can be frustrated by signing Perdomo. Seems like a pretty forward thinking move to grab someone for next year and stash him away. Out of the box thinking is required when your budget is constrained.
  13. Out of curiosity, I looked up the value of the #41 pick in the 2019 draft (traded for Claudio). Fangraphs has that pick listed at $7.4M of value based on $9M/WAR. Thus, 0.8 WAR. Fangraphs has Claudio at -0.1 WAR for the last two years. Baseball reference has 0.7 WAR. The player picked at #41 (Davis Wendzel) has 19 total ABs in 2019 (and none listed for 2020 obviously).
  14. With so little HS football last year, I wonder how widely varying the ratings will be. There is always four and five star recruits that disappoint and no-names that surprise, but I've got to imagine evaluating talent was really hard this year.
  15. Well, I don't have a membership, but they had this in the free area that I found interesting: Here's how we project their lineup in 2024, with their 2024 age in parentheses. Catcher: Jacob Nottingham (29) First Base: Keston Hiura (27) Second Base: Brice Turang (24) Third Base: Luis Urias (27) Shortstop: Orlando Arcia (29) Left Field: Christian Yelich (32) Center Field: Garrett Mitchell (25) Right Field: Hedbert Perez (21) Designated Hitter: Dan Vogelbach (31) No. 1 Starter: Brandon Woodruff (31) No. 2 Starter: Corbin Burnes (29) No. 3 Starter: Antoine Kelly (24) No. 4 Starter: Adrian Houser (31) No. 5 Starter: Ethan Small (27) Closer: Devin Williams (29)
  16. Sounds like a rockin' family band! Crank it up! I'm fully acoustic - my kids make enough noise! I have my Wasburn, a Traveler Guitar Mark III, and a cheap kids guitar that I teach them on. My Washburn is a Mahogany and very mellow sound - my guitar teacher would tune it for me (initially) just so he could play it. My Mark III looks like a small electric guitar and built so I can put it in an overhead compartment of an airplane. I used to travel a LOT and could play this in a hotel with headphones (like you are using your computer). Or in my living room with the chaos around me.
  17. MN has a good RB and lost their best WR (NFL prep). We have a good run defense. Hopefully, we'll have our WRs back this week.
  18. Living in MN, I'm only blacked out when the Brewers play the Twins, so it isn't that often. I've thought about a VPN, but good thing I didn't bother.
  19. I took a couple years of lessons years ago and got to "campfire strummer" level. With COVID, I started online lessons and trying to take improve my technical mumbo jumbo abilities. What guitars do you have? Which one is loudest?
  20. Any guitar geeks out there? I bought my first guitar 15 years ago - a Washburn D10M and am considering an upgrade. Looking at a Taylor GS Mini KOA (drooling maybe?). Any opinions? Any favorite acoustic guitars?
  21. No worries! Christmas is coming! I mean Jeff Suppan signed on Dec 24th...
  22. Only if they're willing to sign him to an extension and basically void their 'out' that they have after next year. Right. You give him a signing bonus, add years, reduce his yearly cap hit, and push the 'out' a few years later. Given this year, I'm not sure that is a bad thing.
  23. Well... Rodgers is the obvious contract to restructure...
  24. I love this twitter response: Big Ben Tonyan I LOVE YOU NEVER LEAVE ME LIKE MY WIFE DID IN 98 I didn't doubt he would sign it, but I'm glad the east/west coast speculation will stop now. Tired of all the articles of how XYZ team will get Giannis...
  25. Knebel's injuries reduced his performance last year. The risk of him not bouncing back in 2021 (and our financial constraints) made it worth the Brewers trading him to the Dodgers who will pay his ~$5M salary because they believe he can bounce back in 2021. Even more likely in 2022. But no one will pay $5M for Justin Grimm (for example) because he has a history of poor performance. All MLB baseball teams showed the ability to easily make profits in the last 10-15 years. With COVID (like Knebel's injury), the performance of revenue dropped, but the long term viability (somewhat risky in 2021, even more likely to bounce back in 2022) is very good for any MLB team. Thus the short term revenue issues don't impact the long term viability of a team. That is the difference between value and revenue. A franchise value won't drop because of short term revenue problems but certainly will with continued revenue issues. This is why there is no baseball in Montreal anymore.
