  1. Homer - Nice, but isn't that a P instead of the B? I'm not done on Graham yet, but we paid a lot of money for meh return in year 1. Hopefully this year will be better for him. He certainly didn't look comfortable out there and maybe we need to adjust on how to use him. Otherwise, Bell(29) was the only real positive player from last year's FA. (Ages were at the 2018 signing period): - Graham (31) wasn't horrible, but a TE at $10M+ should've brought more - Tramon (35) - a little better when he moved to safety - House (28) - bad signing. Looks like the tank is empty for him. - Wilkerson (29) - actually a good signing for the $$, but got injured. - Lewis (33) - a bit of a bonus at the end of FA, but really did nothing on the team. So going for guys in the 25-27 range is a big change. Hopefully catching them on the upswing
  2. As others have said, I don't remember a first signing day like this ever. Granted, we had a bit of work to fix our poor drafting and extensions over the last few years. I'm not overly familiar with any of them, but I like that they are all in their prime and not 30+ signings. That was the main mistake last year. So do we put "Z-Smith" and "P-Smith" on the jerseys so they don't get confused? "And its a Smith sandwich for the sack! (or would that be Smith squared?)"
  3. As said earlier, there was zero chance he’d be back & any talk they’d hold onto him was just sports talk to get leverage. The bridge didn’t need repairs, it was far past that. The bridge was burned to the ground. Now the deal they got for him?! Eek. Raiders loaded with high picks & best they could get was a 3rd & 5th? Think Packers will regret not doing this the same as not trading a 4th for Moss did. ARod will continue to have one true weapon in Adams & we will have to pray Graham re-emerges or a bunch of kids take giant leap. I think bring back Cobb would be smart considering I don’t think Humphries, Tate, Beasley, J Brown, Crowder are all that better of slot WRs. And it was clear that AB was in charge of the situation. In retrospect, not trading for Moss was probably a miss (can't guarantee he does as well in GB) and I didn't want him then. But I still struggle in getting a tool like AB on our team. If you knew he wasn't going to be a headcase, it might not be so bad. And he is going to be a big $$ hit too. Frankly, he seems like the perfect Raider. Also, Gruden is making his bed with the Raiders. We will know very quickly if he really wants to sleep in it. (Not just AB, but also Toomer, Mack, etc...)
  4. A month or two ago, I read a lot about signing Anthony Barr as an OLB. He wouldn't be terribly expensive compared to other OLBs and a decent chance to be a breakout candidate. But I'd see them signing one OLB and drafting another. Could do the same at Safety.
  5. So YoungGeezy, is there anyone you don't have a crush on?
  6. Wow. Noah Fant just ran a 4.51 40-yard dash as a 6'4" 249lb TE.
  7. Yeah, I wish him well. After the concussion issues last year, I thought he might hang it up. He was an ok college QB, but didn't really improve after his first year.
  8. So after a billion and one mock drafts before the Combine even begins... who is that player that you are really watching and hoping gets picked by the Packers? For myself, I'm really leaning towards TJ Hockenson. Drafting him at #12 is way to high and its starting to sound like #30 might be too low. None of the OLBs that are expected to be available at #12 really interested me. No one seems really "special" at that point. ILB White could be interesting, but keep getting a Hawk vibe (high floor/low ceiling) from him. Hockenson seems like a very special player compared to TEs in the draft and in the NFL. It wouldn't break my heart to trade down to #20, grab him and pickup an OLB that falls to #30. In pickup another OLB with the #2 or #3 pick we add by trading down.
  9. Yep. Throw in that he is 31 and that sums up my concerns on whether he would fit.
  10. I'm sure the Steelers are on a major PR push to try to maximize his return, but I really doubt AB plays another down with the Steelers. Our #30 is the most I'd give up and I'm still not sure he is a great fit. I think I'd rather chase some of the bigger defensive names and go draft a WR with #12 if they think the need is that bad.
  11. If you need to speed it up, seperate the point and the flat. and it will cook much faster with more bark. I also use the Texas crutch after the meat hits 165 degrees. At that point, you can raise the temperature. Then faux cambrio until you are ready to eat. Mine has always been tender. Just don't let it sit in a lot of liquid all that time or you will have pot roast (did that once). It was still good, but not brisket.
  12. Any team trading for Brown will need to consider if they can make him happy playing there also. I can't imagine Brown would be happy playing for the Cardinals right now.
  13. Yes, he has disclosed that before. General comment to the thread: Regardless of how you feel about Josh's opinions, please refrain from personal attacks like being "unstable".
  14. There is already a thread about collusion, players salaries and salary caps. Multiple actually. Please limit the discussion here to Nola and his extension.
  15. Out of curiousity, I looked at the opening day salaries for the MLB for the last 6 years. Looks like they are averaging a 7% increase from 2012-2018. The lowest was a decrease of 2.6% from 2015 to 2016, but that followed the largest increase of 20.7% from 2014 to 2015. I'm not sure how 7% compares to the profit teams are taking in, but it certainly beats inflation.
  16. Historically, it seems like this comes up every 10-15 years or so. Teams go on a spending binge for a while, then run into a hangover cycle from overspending and back off. But then the big spending starts back up again. Its really hard to know what owners are thinking, but very few of them own a baseball team to just make money and not win a WS. And since they compete against each other, I kind of doubt they would all agree to price-fix. I just don't think they would agree enough to do that. As far as Machado and Harper, I'd love it if the Brewers could afford Harper. But I wouldn't touch Machado with a 10 foot pole. And it doesn't surprise me that they are taking so long to sign. After those two, its a massive drop-off in talent. And since one is a SS and one a CF, its not like they are competing with each other. So why not bide their time and see who ups the bid? There is not advantage for them to sign in December over February. Play a little chicken with the teams interested and see who breaks.
  17. Yes, this. Mason came on a team with Big Dog, Allen and Sam-I-Am. Those three played fast and fluid. Mason slowed down everything and was a black-hole on the court. He completely changed the dynamic of the team as they just didn't match playing styles. Jordan is an under the basket center and would clog up the very thing that makes our offense good right now: Spacing and outside threats. He fit better when we had Kidd running the offense, but our current offense doens't fit him at all. And Jordan was traded to the Knicks, so we don't need to worry about it.
  18. Getting DeAndre Jordan on this team gives me a bad feeling of deja vu from when we traded for Anthony Mason. Just the wrong type of player for this team.
  19. My only lament is that I hate the name change in general as it makes it harder to remember what its called when it changes. If it changes once in every 20 years, I suppose that isn't a big deal. Just so its not changing hands yearly.

  21. ...I am not so sure 2017 was as much on Hundley as we thought. Any throw over 10 yards had such bad accuracy that I don't think it matters what the rest of the team did. He might not have been the only problem, but he was the biggest one as a starter.
  22. I have unfortunately, made the poor, poor decision to move into the Minneapolis area (sacrificed football passions for family needs). That means I unfortunately hear way too much about the Vikings. There was a LOT of discussion that Cousins couldn't handle Defillipo's offense nor the calls. In fact, there was a ton of grumbling that Defillipo should've stayed and Cousins went (among fans) and that he is overpaid. Who knows... maybe he wasn't the brain-child he was made to be, but I'd give him a mulligan for his time with the Vikings. Also to consider that you merge a HC under pressure to win (contract year in 2019) with a new OC and a top-3 paid QB all trying to figure it out together. As it was just said, after Defillipo, the Vikings looked good against a few bad teams, but looked HORRID against the Bears to end thier season with Cousins and Theilen yelling at each other. Plus Cousins still put up 4000+ yds mostly under Defillipo. But it doesn't matter... We have Hackett now. And its probably more important that the team all form a great team to work together than being concerned about coach A vs coach B.
  23. Honestly, that is really hard to believe when you watch him (not doubting you, its just hard to believe). He is a good player. And I'm sure he makes the total stats via being healthy and starting 4 years and being very consistent. And I've not watched a LOT of his games, but everytime I do watch he never looks like he dominates anything. The offense around him just never seems to gel well either. After Frank and Sam left a couple years ago, Happ led a very bland post-up offense where you just foul him late in the game when its close. And a couple years later, it looks exactly the same with the same problems. I want to like the guy, but he just looks out of place in today's game. He should've played for Dick Bennett. Do you think he will be drafted?
  24. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't like Moore at all. He just does not have good hands. He catches almost everything with his body. It looks like they hit on Scantling and St. Brown though. Its quite possible they miss on him (not a shock to miss on a 4th round WR). But I see a LOT of similarities with Adams. I was ready to cut Adams after his second year because he couldn't catch anything. Doesn't many anything for Moore, but ...
