  1. You could also give him an "out" at the end of Spring training that states he is a FA if he isn't on the 25 man roster.
  2. My understanding of the discussion is that the guidelines say Hader is out, Woodruff is in. That would be my vote.
  3. Hanging either WC or Division Title flag without the WS flag just shows you ended a loser. The playoffs are fun, but if you can't stand at the top at the end, its "maybe next year". So to answer the question, the distinction between the two is a moot point.
  4. We have the guidelines for who is in and who is out. Why alter it based on gut feelings? That is why we have guidelines... Also, I'm not sure how Woodruff's spot in the rotation would impact a rookie status.
  5. I remember thinking as a kid: wow, we are very far behind the Bears in head-to-head record. Of course, I was used to Walter Payton running over us and Mike Singletary's intense eyes tearing apart our offense. But what a turn of events over the last 25 years. And I love Acme Packer's commemorative t-shirt!
  6. Cubs fans posing as Brewer fan posters... You really need to be a "L" if you have that much time to fake two (at least) logins here just to post garbage that gets you banned and is deleted quickly....
  7. All is forgiven Rocketman82. Thanks for leaving.
  8. And Trevathan is given a 2 game suspension. NFL agrees that he used his helmet as a weapon: The league said that Trevathan violated Rule 12, Section 2, Article 6 (i) which states that "there shall be no unnecessary roughness. This shall include, but will not be limited to: (i) using any part of a player's helmet or facemask to butt, spear, or ram an opponent violently or unnecessarily." Even if his head was up, there was no reason to hit him like that. The play actually should've been whistled dead as progress was stopped. Putting your head down and only Adam's head to hit (being engulfed by other tacklers) only makes it worse.
  9. His arm is better this year than last. Good touch but little zip. It will be interesting to watch him mature and see how much his arm strengthens by the time he is a senior.
  10. I think Ueck is enough... County Stadium was just a backdrop...
  11. Thankfully, Adams injuries seems to be minimal given the hit. Only a concussion without further structural damage.
  12. Cook signed 2 year $12.2M. Bennett was 3 years for $21M. Cook could ask, but got less. I know Cook wasn't great at blocking, but I don't see Bennett as wonderful either. Better, but not massively. At least Bennett made a good down the field catch tonight.
  13. Mike Glennon is continuing the fine QB tradition in Chicago...
  14. Ok, but that wasn't really the question. How about: Bennett + Kendricks vs. Cook + Kendricks Kendricks could've been signed either way.
  15. Ok, I'm not trying to dump on Bennett, but I am a little surprised on how slow he has started with the Packers. Meanwhile, I was also pretty surprised that they Packers signed Bennett over Cook. Yes, Bennett is an upgrade, but sometimes the player fit on a team is also important. Cook was hurt early last year, but seemed to fit on the team really well at the end of the year. Still a long time to see how Bennett will fit in, but given the slow start it makes me wonder if that was the right decision.
  16. They expanded the PS a few years ago, I think that was a nod to having a deeper "bench" while still allowing someone else to nab them to the 53-man squad. But I think eliminating the 45 man active list (all 53 active) and having a shorter DL with more returning players would help. I don't think we need more than a 53 man roster.
  17. Certainly depends on the injuries. We certainly seem to have a share of hamstrings. A few years back, someone did an analysis that showed we were in the top 10 each year. But I'm not sure where that is. It just frustrating because we seem to be beating ourselves constantly.
  18. Ouch... Packers better wake up. Their defense is missing a lot of players and now they are down 14. Don't see Rodgers throw a pick 6 very often...
  19. Seems like the topic is continues to pop up each year. MM keeps trying to "fix" it, but we tend to be heavily injured each year. There are freak things, but a LOT of hamstring injuries that pop up also. Mediocrity on behalf of Capers and the D is still our biggest problem, but injuries is a close second. Seems like we get derailed every year by it.
  20. I did. I got the email, but forgot to follow up. But I was on "the list" too. Maybe they prioritize the people who were exposed.
  21. He did fine as a coach. I just didn't like the spread offense concept here. And his recruiting hurt the offense in switching back. Looks like we finally have some decent WRs again.
  22. I hate to burst your bubble, but there are few better than him in the league. He isn't perfect but no one is. He is a major reason why we have been in the top of the league for years.
  23. Meanwhile, India has selected Maverick in the Cricket draft as a bowler...
  24. I think the defense adjusted well in the second half. I was surprised to seek how well King did with Julio. But I guess it helps to have similar size/speed to keep up. Hope that is a sign of things to come. And I echo doc's comment above. I was just happy to see Rodgers come out alive. I was stunned to see both OTs out of the game. That could've been much worse, but they did well. Though Rodgers rarely held the ball longer than 3-4 seconds. And that really limited the offense. Plus losing Jordy. Take Julio out of the game on the other side, and we probably win the game.
  25. No, my quote wasn't blue. I'm not talking about the trade, but after Brinson got hurt, they took all the best players from AAA and pulled them to sit the bench at MLB. I agree that MLB success beats MiLB success, but they pulled up a LOT of unnecessary players to do nothing at the MLB level. I think they could've taken a couple specific players and left other until after the playoffs were over.
