  1. He will be a regular in the rotation, especially with Parker being out most of the season. I think his defense will step up this year. And he will be a spot up shooter when others drive. Kind of like a 7 foot "3 and D" type player.
  2. Hmm..I have to agree to disagree with you on this. House was in good position, but Brice had his hands on Graham the whole time and Graham didn't make contact until he was trying to get free and the ball was coming down. I initially thought it was not catch able, but after rewinding a few times, that was just a really bad call. https://twitter.com/LosRealAli/status/907008777030737920/video/1 That's the only link I can find. I think it shows two things. The PI on Brice was pretty obvious and not needed as House and he were in perfect position with him hemmed in along the back of the endzone, but also...Mike Daniels just wrecks offenses. I just watched the replay on NFL.com. The refs messed up on both sides.
  3. Next man up!
  4. NOTE: I've left the generic thread open now that we moved to the Other Sports Forum. But if you feel like opening a thread for a specific Badger topic, feel free to do that.
  5. I still scratch my head at hiring Anderson. I was abhorring the thought of transitioning to a spread offense... So glad we went back to traditional with Chryst.
  6. NOTE: I've left the generic thread open now that we moved to the Other Sports Forum. But if you feel like opening a thread for a specific Buck's topic, feel free to do that.
  7. As far as drafting for need over BPA, who says King wasn't ranked higher than Watt on the Packers' board? Technically, they didn't draft King over Watt. They traded down over drafting Watt. After trading down, they didn't have the choice to draft Watt. Pretty typical TT is having a number of similarly ranked players and trading down. Pick up a draft pick while still getting one of the group. I think the only effect of Watt being a Badger is that we got to see his progression up front and close. I don't think we wanted him BECAUSE he was a Badger. Given how little development time he had at OLB after moving from TE and how well he played... it was tantalizing to think what he could become.
  8. I'm assuming that you know who as you follow the MiLB, but I'll list it out anyway for those that might not. Former 2015 6th round pick, Eric is 23 years old and a starting pitcher at A+ this year. Last year he had a 4.81 ERA at Brevard. And this year a 3.94 ERA at Carolina. Neither of which is very good given the average offense for those leagues. So in short, not a lot.
  9. Why post it in blue? It's likely true and there's nothing wrong with that thinking. The big club in a hot race and they are short on starting pitching. They wouldn't sabatoge the AAA team to do so. They would just call up the guys they wanted like they have. They're not starting Brooks SO CS loses...though I can't really see a good reason why they are. They sabotaged the team when they called up all the stars that made the team a winner.
  10. Its hard to say, but certainly is in the short term.
  11. It wasn't a punch but Lane took his forearm and jammed it into Adams' throat. It was a deserved ejection and Buck and Aikman were terrible today. That is a given when their lips were moving...
  12. When Aaron barks... the Seattle DL listens.
  13. So, did anyone see the punch? I'm only left with Joe and Troy saying they didn't see it... I'm not convinced...
  14. A lion share of the Cobb might be cut discussion is heavily predicated on the young WRs showing up. But honestly most of them didn't. And this year was honestly a year early. Next year is his last year and some considerations might be made to pay the other guys. Not that he isn't good anymore, but is he replaceable? And the answer this year is clearly no.
  15. So, my DVR failed me and I only started watching when Seattle kicked the first field goal right before the half, so maybe I didn't miss much. So far Murphy looks like he is holding up at RT. Montgomery also looks good running the ball. And Daniels... holy cow. A one man wrecking crew on D.

  17. Please be aware that we now have a new sub-forum for non-baseball sport threads. We are still getting all the links worked out but you can find it here. Feel free to add individual threads for Packers, Badger, Bucks, WWF, Curling... whatever sports topics interest you.
  18. Big thanks to Hawing for making the other sports forum a reality! Thus, I'm locking this thread. Please feel free to make different threads for different topics.
  19. It is not legal to copy and past paid content here. Summarize it, talk about it, blurbs... but not a full copy.
  20. I think Taylor Jungmann deserves another shot now.
  21. I've long been a fan of traditional BB, but I think its time for the DH... Just too much specialization in the game anymore. That and Ryan Braun as a DH is probably a benefit for the next 3 years.
  22. If every packer topic became a separate thread, this forum would be nothing but a Packer forum, and myself, I would never come back... Not being a Packer fan, I am constantly bombarded with Packer news, non news, or anything Packer related everywhere I go. Radio ads, tv ads, you name it, Packers are everywhere. I am speaking for myself only, and you are correct, I don't want to see all the Packer topics separately because I wouldn't use them, I like them all in one tidy thread that I can simply ignore... This is my selfish opinion of course... So sad... just give in and embrace the Green and Gold. Your life will be happier. There are about 10 Packer posters around here. A few might yet come... And there were only a few threads. It wasn't like we were burying the "Techno-Geeks" thread so you couldn't find it. Or polluting the MLB or MiLB forums. But good news... looks like we are getting another sub-forum for non-Brewer related sports. But you might have to deal with another thread or two in the mean time before it comes to fruition.
  23. Yes, I want the Brewers to make the playoffs, but I can't say that I'm impressed by how they emptied the AAA team as they were going in the playoffs. I can't imagine Michael Blazek is impressed either... He pitched well for the team (2.70 ERA away from CS) but is relegated to relieving for Wilkerson, who just made his first AAA start. Seems like a poor way to treat the team after they worked so hard all season to make the playoffs.
  24. As for Gennett, you can't "blame" GABP for his resurgence this year. Here are his splits: Home: 306/355/575/930 Away: 290/344/522/865 - Those are good numbers for both home and away.... far above his career norms. He does, however have massive LH/RH splits: RHP: 317/368/583/950 in 337 PA LHP: 226/278/417/694 in 90 PA But, I fail to see why we have 5 pages of discussion. - Last year Villar clearly outplayed Gennett. - This year Gennett clearly outplayed Villar - Next year...? I hope no one believes either of their career years is the "real player". The Brewers have had a lot of players have a career year after a pedestrian career with other teams. Guerra, Sogard, Aguilar... That doesn't mean DS was wrong in getting rid of Gennett (or right). He made a decision between two non-star starting caliber players. He chose the younger, more flexible defensive player that switch hits. This year made it look bad, especially with the Brewers in the playoff contention. But that doesn't mean it wasn't the better long term decision. If you boil it all down, they are fairly similar players overall with different strengths and different warts.
