  1. Well, what do we think about the humidor being installed in Arizona, though? [sarcasm]They'll be targeting more Cubans?[/sarcasm]
  2. I was thinking the same thing about what you wrote... you could at least have some constructive feedback on it.... Kirby - Its taking a lot of patience, but I'm excited to see him this year. Lara - Stick a fork in him... he's done. Sure, he is still young, but there just isn't any growth. I don't see it getting better. Bickford - I'll be watching any report on his FB speed this year. Seems like he was 88-90 lately with bad results. If he is back in mid-90s, he could be interesting. Ray - I have some hope for him figuring it out, but I'm concerned. Grisham - Similar to Ray but looking very much plateaued. Coulter - I don't see upside anymore. Nottingham - Hard to really judge as defensive reports seem to have improvement. Shown a good bat, then disappeared. Will be a key year to see if he can put together.. Tyrone Taylor - Doesn't seem to have much going for him. Not great defense. No bat improvement or promise. Trading Brinson and Harrison gives him more chances, but not much upside. Hauser - I liked Hauser before his injury as a starter. Has a smaller chance as a SP now, but I think will at least make a good RP. Just needs to hold his control. Taylor Williams - I'm almost certain he could be in the BP this year... unless they try to make a SP out of him again. But looks great either way. Devin Williams - A sleeper. He was slowly, but consistently improved as he climbed the system. Miederos - So much talent... so many problems. No idea if he can put it all together, but I think he has a chance at the BP yet. Lefties get a lot of chances. Lopez - Man, what happened to him??? I have no idea what to expect his year. Still something there, but was exposed a the MLB level. Erceg - Kind of down last year at Carolina but I'm guessing he will be a big breakout at AA this year. Missaki - After two TJs, I don't have high expecations from him.
  3. Yes, we've had two HOF QBs back to back, but players like him are rare. You let him play as long as possible and enjoy every minute. See Tom Brady. 40+ and winning SBs
  4. [sarcasm]Yes, but what does Mark Cuban think about it?[/sarcasm]
  5. http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/prospects/watch/y2012/ I found it amusing at how many Brewer connections there were (Odorizzi, Thornburg, Peralta, Yelich, Nick Franklin, Christian Bethancourt), but even more amusing were all the names that BF.net bantered about as trade rumors, specifically failed prospects to resurrect: Profar, Bundy, Wil Myers, Zach Wheeler, Mike Olt, Puig. Even Archer is in there...
  6. *Challenge Flag Thrown* Guys, there is a perfectly good thread on collusion and baseball finances going on in the Major League forum. Given that this thread is more intended to be on DDSM and their Brewer players, I would ask that you take the discussion to the other thread. Thanks, CWH
  7. Maybe I time it wrong, but it seems like every time I turn to NBC, I get figure skating....
  8. Sweet, so we drafted and developed an Ace finally! Not bad for a Suppan comp at draft time....
  9. Maybe we should just make new terms for it all... Boomers - Top 5-10 or so pitchers that represent the creme de la creme of the pitchers. Toupees - Top 30 pitchers in baseball.
  10. I honestly don't know what I'd prefer anymore. Is there such a thing as rumor fatigue? Closure. We want closure.
  11. I'd prefer all top 4 FA pitchers to Archer. Archer was good 3 years ago, but very average since.
  12. Rhetorical: (of a question) asked in order to produce an effect or to make a statement rather than to elicit information.
  13. Sorry, but no way has Disney done a great job. Not even good. This move was better than episode 7, but mainly because 7 was absolute garbage. For episode 8, I agree with most of what was already said. Casino/Rose/Horses - disjointed. Leia/Mary Poppins - ridiculous. Luke-surpisingly good. The force projection fight actually made it make more sense (fighting the walkers). Of course Rey's parents are something. Ren said he saw them and that is why she would turn dark... The later conversation was desperation to get her to turn. And of course, if you haven't figured it out, with all of the Yin/Yang (good and evil balanced, etc...) that only thing that makes sense is that she is Ren's twin. This also explains how they were able to maintain the connection after Snoke died. I took Snoke's inability to see Ren's intention to kill him as Ren's growth in the force. And the dark side's over confidence in themselves.
  14. I've been in favor of traditional BB for a long time. When we switched to the NL, I loved the additional strategy and gamesmanship. But I am tired of seeing pitchers hit, no one teaches players to bunt correctly and the injuries. its time for the DH.
  15. Might've been the case were we were in the playoffs and he wanted everyone focused on winning...
  16. The Bucks were not allowed to sign him. A bought out player can not go back to the team that originally traded him until his contract expires or July 1st, whichever comes first. Huh... I did not know that. Seems a little unfair. If someone doesn't want him after the trade, why not? (Rhetorical question, yes, its about skirting salary issues and some possible collusion). Still seems unlikely to ever be abused.
  17. [sarcasm]Bummer, I opened this hoping that Hauricourt was being traded to the Chicago Tribune...[/sarcasm] We could probably improve the title...
  18. Monroe's contract is bought out by Phoenix and is a FA. Do the Bucks have a chance at getting him? He isn't the ideal C, but he fits well as a backup C. Sounds like the Pelicans will put a push with Cousins out.
  19. Archer had three really good years, but the last two (should've been his peak at 27 and 28) have been really average. Especially since his away splits have been really bad.
  20. [sarcasm]He’s just looking for some good press.[/sarcasm] Ha! Very nice.
  21. When they opened their new stadium, they taught everyone to do this. Literally. Before the first game (or some building opening), they told everyone what the cheer would be. Thus, its 100% artificial. Not to mentioned ripped off from Iceland (with "permission"). I keep thinking of taking a SKOAL tobacco can and photo-shopping it to SKOL...
  22. I beg to differ. I've lived 18 years up by the northern MN/WI border (Duluth/Superior), 12 years near the southern MN/WI border (Winona) and now 1 year in the Twin Cities. Also 8 years on the IL/WI border. I'll take the Bears fans over Viking fans any day. Most Bears fans I know say the same about Packer fans over Viking fans.
  23. Signing a good player to a reasonable contract should never, never, ever avoided because we have a prospect coming through the minors that we don't want to block. The best case scenario leads you with two good options and trade bait. The worst case scenario is that you have someone to play the position and your prospect flamed out. There are just too many ways that prospects flame out to count on them making the majors years from now.
  24. Villar is really the only legit backup at SS too. And yes, I know Sogard played there some last season.
  25. Arcia (324 OBP) and Villar (293 OBP) weren't #1 nor #2 material last year. Those BA positions should have an OBP north of 350 at least. Of the players we have on the roster, Phillips and Thames had good OBPs last year. Walker would be a good choice too if we resign him. Sogard did great, but I hesitate to rely on him reproducing it, but some players just click in certain situations.
