  1. To clarify my previous statements, QBs like Rodgers and Favre would be starting QBs on any NFL team in their eras. And they would probably be successful. But I think they found situations where they were paired with key people that elevated their games to HOF careers. The opposite examples work too. Matt Flynn looked like a legit starting QB filling in for the Packers... but looked horrible after leaving the Packers. Purdy strikes me a bit like Flynn. Smart QB that is accurate and plays well within his system. I'm not sure he'd see that level of success on every other team like he has for the 49ers. WOW against the Packers, but also WOW that downward trend line... Looks like the dude was figured out and he hasn't adjusted (or can't).
  2. But not on the basepaths. My goodness he was pulling a plow around the bases.
  3. Squirrels I believe...
  4. Wow! We have him totally out of position at TE then! 😉😂
  5. Gary Anderson crossed my mind while watching this game. 😢
  6. They don't announce it until later...
  7. I'm not going to buy-in on Darnold and the Vikings quite yet... 😉 but yes.
  8. I think the only thing definite is that if the Bears took him, he would've been a QB bust. 😂 I think a players success is very dependent on the situation and coaching he gets. Favre without Holmgren makes him ?? Rodgers without Clement working with him makes him ?? I think there are few players that just succeed anywhere and everywhere. Certainly Rodgers is better than many QBs out there... but often the differentiator between the very good and the HOF is the situation he is put in (IMO).
  9. It is an easy statement to say since no one can disprove it... But team dynamics and drafting changes so much with such a key player. Does he get along with the HC and players? Does his salary impact the 49ers cap to the point where they have to let others go? Maybe Rodgers was/is a caustic person that didn't help the lockeroom at all? A butterfly flaps its wings... As much as we bemoan not winning more SBs with Favre & Rodgers, very few QBs have won multiple in that span. Winning a SB is hard.
  10. Yeah, I forgot to mention a lack of Cooper out there playing this week. That was disappointing. Despite the gripes, Walker is actually pretty good player. He misses plays at times (i.e. INT glancing off his helmet), but part of that is being in the right place to almost make the play. We haven't had an MLB be able to do that for a while. And Wilson made a great INT... but adding Cooper's speed would've looked great yesterday. Thus the D still has room to improve.
  11. Ironically, wearing blaze orange in Chicago doesn't actually help prevent getting shot.😉
  12. Great games from Jacobs, the OL, Daub, and Reed on offense. Malik did a nice job playing within himself and the gameplan. We do need a few more pass plays setup for him though. Indy's second half adjustments slowed us down a little bit too much. A few more outs to the TEs or Watson going a deep route just to diversify the game plan. The defense was generally excellent also. I'm actually surprised that Indy didn't feature Jonathan Taylor more. He was the player we struggled to stop over anyone. But the D did a great job containing Richardson.
  13. I'm sure having the two ask questions about daily baseball stuff helps. Its more like 3 guys sitting around a table talking about work.
  14. No. But it was still an ugly game.
  15. We needed a night like this after that game...
  16. I didn't say aggressive. Assignment sure means fewer WRs running uncovered. Wouldn't change a ton in today's game, but the D certainly seems less prepared than with JL.
  17. I think JL has the D be more assignment sure. Still losing, but more assignment sure.
  18. Clearly a staple of air raid offense is run left on every play
  19. Sorry. I broke it. Its been raining off and on at my house, so my regular plans are a wash. So here I wait...
  20. Yeah, they certainly are deficient at the skill positions, but they are playing closer than the score.
  21. Well that was a sucky 3 play turnaround...
  22. Locke is just too short.
  23. Locke looked decent last year... hopefully that throw gets him back into the swing here.
