  1. There is an hour and a half edition of Baseball Tonight going on right now. I was watching specifically to see the Counsell tag and HR. They didn't show either. Extremely disappointed in that.
  2. And this would be July 29th and 30th. Hopefully we don't have to wait for the same dates in August for that to happen again.
  3. Intentionally walking Lopez to get to the great Craig Counsell? What fools.
  4. I don't know about that one, but I'll sure as hell take it. EDIT: Clearly safe, terrible play by the catcher.
  5. I'd agree with that. If he goes back out for the 8th though...
  6. But 2006 is considered his rookie year. The way I see it that's the one you start from.
  7. You forgot to count 2004. And yuck, Froemming just said Ga-LARD-o.
  8. Whenever we have a day game I just assume Gallardo is pitching.
  9. If we could get rid off Hall and his contract I'd take a pack of gum in return.
  10. Sorry, I don't feel like reading this whole thread, but he's not getting a free pass. Many fans think he should be fired, and he's catching a lot of heat. Personally I don't feel he should be fired (yet), but a lot of people do.
  11. I think we are done this season. I do not want to buy anymore. Infact I am in favor of selling. With that said, I have not lost all interest in Halladay (although it has declined somewhat). He's under contract for next year too. I think we have a chance to be something special next year, and it would be good to have a top notch pitcher the whole season instead of picking one up at the deadline. The asking price does seem too high though.
  12. I'm definitely for selling at this point. I'd take what we can get for Cameron and Hoffman. If for some reason a team is interested in any of our pitchers besides Gallardo and Parra I'd do that too. I think we should wait until the offseason to unload Hardy and Hart. Maybe trade Corey if a good offer is there, but I'd hold off on JJ. I think the return on him will be bigger in the offseason eventhough he'd have half a year less than right now. More teams would be in the mix and maybe there's some hope he can put together a nice streak and pull up that average. However if I were to bet on what will actually happen, I'd place everything on a trade not being made either way.
  13. Even if we did somehow trade for Davis there's no way Gillespie would come back. If we thought that much of him we wouldn't have traded him in the first place. You don't trade a player and then trade back for him two weeks later. That's just stupid.
  14. I'm pretty sure you could just go to Kinkos.
  15. I liked the black and white Bears uniforms a lot better. Dave Bush looked awesome in that. And Gallardo with an RBI single!
  16. Well being in the National League it shouldn't find it's way to the Brewers. This can't be good though.
  17. The posters on all JSOnline blogs are complete morons. Don't take anything from those posts ever.
  18. I know that he is absolutely terrible in the field, but I still have a hard time believing that it would negate the increase in offensive production. He has an OBP that is 70 points higher than Hart and he's nearly 200 points higher in OPS. And then you have to take into account that he would give Prince some solid protection. You can't be as careful to Fielder if you got Dunn right behind him. Going Bruan-Fielder-Dunn would be awesome. I really like this idea.
  19. Not that I'd necessarily want to do this, but I'd like to hear what some of you think. Trade Escobar for Halladay and still trading Hardy in the offseason for more pitching. 2010: Halladay/Gallardo/pitcher via Hardy/Parra/Bush 2B-Rickie Weeks OF-Mike Cameron/Casey McGehee OF-Ryan Braun 1B-Prince Fielder 3B-Mat Gamel OF-Corey Hart C-Mike Rivera SS-FA fill in, say Orlando Cabrera for 1 year P
  20. I wouldn't want to re-sign Halladay. He'll be going on 34 when his deal ends.
  21. That's something that is very appealing to me about trading for Halladay. He's under contract through next year. We wouldn't have to do a move like this again next year since we'd have Halladay from the start.
  22. Exactly what I'm thinking. I'd much rather trade Escobar than Gamel, and I kind of hope we do trade him soon. I think he has more value right now as a trade chip than he will ever be to our major league team.
