    It took me less than 2 minutes to find John Sickles report from March 2018: 1) Keston Hiura, 2B, Grade B+/A-: Age 21, first round pick in 2017 from University of California-Irvine, ninth overall, hit .371/.422/.611 in 167 at-bats in pro debut between rookie ball and Midwest League, 13 walks, 37 strikeouts; excellent hitter who is close to major league-ready, plenty of bat speed, projected to hit for both power and average; main question is defense, as he was limited to DH by an elbow injury for most of the season, got into just three games at second base in pro ball; may be destined for left field but even so his bat will play anywhere; ETA late 2019 https://www.minorleagueball.com/2018/2/21/17038344/milwaukee-brewers-top-20-prospects-for-2018 Second base is not as difficult to play as 3B or SS. So the only way LF is an option is if you are butcher. This post just totally proved my point...thank you No, it doesn't. The writer said he didn't know how good his defense will be because he hasn't played much. That does not = butcher. Some people will just read what they want to hear. He may be a butcher (I don't know), but I don't think you can say that just because he hasn't played much defense the last few years. Plus, maybe it is just me, but butcher is usually reserved for the glove part of the defense, right? It sounds like he is athletic enough to have good range and most probably develop the glove, and if anything it will be the arm that is always the issue for Hiura.

    I don't want to force it either, I agree. But it would help tremendously to have a true LOOGY in the pen. Hader isn't used that way, obviously. Jennings isn't dominant enough against LH hitters to really fit that role. They obviously have a lot more info on QTC and Ramirez than we do, but if either has the right stuff that would be nasty on LH at the MLB level, that would be worth trying for sure. Just going by their minor league stats, neither Ramirez or QTC is a loogy. They have good numbers across the board, but if anything it appears they may be a smidge better against righties than lefties.

    You answered your own question. No reason to lock in the higher cost for 60 days until you absolutely need someone on the 40 man roster. {Also the Brewers don't want to put anyone new on the 40 man until they have to} I assume he will be labeled "healthy" and put back on a minor league roster pretty soon.

    I assume with this pitch count Chacin is probably going six innings and that is about it. Jeffress, Knebel for sure? Hader, maybe? Is there any reason Williams and Barnes can't go again if needed? I am leery of Jennings and obviously Logan at this point in time. Edit: Hopefully six.

    I wouldn't have complained. If we had someone that had at least a 20% chance of getting a hit up to the plate, I wouldn't have sent him and would have complained. Right now I figure Arcia is about a .150 hitter.

    Knowing there are two outs and Arcia up (and pitcher next if for some reason he walks), he should be tagging and going for it, even if they throw him out 75% of the time.

    Can't believe Montgomery complained about that strike. He is hoping to get that call himself, I assume.

    Kratz may be hot at the plate, but it doesn't seem like he has much of an arm, does it?

    In all fairness, does it really matter? He made a catch of very high degree of difficulty. That is indisputable. Solved! Yes, very good catch. Just keep keep the dust stirred, his two diving catches were much harder than that catch though, imo. And of the two diving catches, the straight ahead catch seems much harder, with a better chance of getting hurt to boot.

    Bring up Nick Ramirez and he can play 1st and pitch out of the pen. Why is Ramirez not up to AAA? I thought maybe AA is short of pen arms, but I don't see that to be the case. I know you need to save room for the guys that you can treat like a rented mule (Dillard, Zagurski), but it would seem you could find room for him. Unless Ramirez has been playing so long for Biloxi that he is the mayor now, he has been there four straight years now.

    If Anddrson wasnt batting leadoff in front of the top of the lineup I would be very tempted to bring them out for the eighth.

    Big opening at 1B now, right? I assume Miller plays SS to get some time in there. I see Bandy played 1B yesterday. Thats one way of Nottingham and Bandy getting at bats, but keeping them fresh. Outside of the box, has Wren ever played any infield ever? We know what he is as an OFer by now. Could check a box on the resume if he were able to scoop grounders and throws and be able to play some 1B now. Make more valuable as bench player.

    Off the major league team, I'd trade Davies, Suter, Santana, Arcia if the Mets gave them any value. I'd assume they would like a young guy like Williams. Assuming they don't want any, I'd be okay letting them pick any four minor leaguers they wanted. Even if they wanted all of Burnes, Peralta, Woodruff.

    I don't blame an OF that just sprinted a few times on defense about jogging to first on an apparent easy out. But Shaw only has to sprint a handful of times a game.

    It's one thing to back your guy, but you don't have to bag on the guy that is his backup. Very small thinking. I wasn't even bagging on him. I was bagging on the posts that were calling him God in cleats for merely taking an unavoidable HBP. Yeah that wasn't your only post regarding Kratz.
