  1. That doesn't explain the taking him out in the middle of the game, where the manager has to take him off from playing defense at shortstop. If its planned, then he wouldn't have been playing. I think the Brewers had everything lined up and were close to pulling the trigger anyways, and the Rengifo getting dinged was the excuse to push the button.
  2. The Brewers need to have bench players that are making min.wage or close enough. If Lara is still the 4th OF in 2029, they are going to be looking to unload this contract to save payroll. I'm not against the contract as the gamble is, if he is very good, those option years are going to be very valuable either to us or in trade value.
  3. Regardless if joke, Skubal is on DL, so can't be traded, right? So you aren't holding out Lara that long. But, maybe another trade was imminent? Lara would be the most obvious chip to include depending on how big this is. https://www.mlb.com/brewers/news/each-mlb-team-s-best-trade-chip-in-2026
  4. I hope they bring up Fitzpatrick for Hall at a minimum. Don't mess with it, just put on DL. Plus, they really should DFA Woodford, and bring up Yoho. Yes, there is no true multi-inning garbage man, but how many times have we really used Woodford in the role like yesterday? I will be annoyed if Anderson ends up being day to day and not pitching to 10 days anyways. So i wouldn't object to bringing up CarGo to replace Anderson and be the "Woodford" for two weeks.
  5. Houser has pretty big splits for lefties hitting him. So I can see why Ortiz is not starting.
  6. I reckon it is to keep pitching as long as Woodruff/Henderson are out. Keep his innings/pitch count as low as possible in the mean time. DL stint when Woodruff/Henderson are ready, and after that see where the Brewers are at.
  7. If they move Priester to the 60 day DL, can they backdate that to whenever he was first officially out? If not, I assume they DFA Woodford?.... Need a 40 man spot.
  8. I assume Drohan will be in the starting pitching rotation instead of Patrick since I assume Koening will be up somewhat soon. Need a lefty/righty mix in bullpen. Plus Patrick makes it sound like he works better not knowing when he is pitching - nervousness. To me, if I was in the pen, I would be worried every day, versus as a starter I can relax on the offdays as I know I won't pitch.
  9. Put me down in the increased media revenue sharing and I would be happy for the Brewers. Personally, I don't mind not having money to pay for a high priced free agent. When you have that, those players are worth their cost the first 2-3 years and then are not playing up to the cost of the contract after. Then the last couple of years, they are not playing good enough to even be in the starting 9, but they keep their spot in the lineup just because they have the huge contract.
  10. And if the season ended today, there would be two teams under .500 the Twins and As in the playoffs. Add in the White Sox at exactly .500
  11. I don't know anything, but isn't that risking team chemistry for Abrams?
  12. Any reason Gasser wasn't sent down for Yoho/McGee? Or does that news just not come out until closer to game time tonight?
  13. What is the recovery timeframe for that? Up until it jeapordizes next spring training, might as well keep trying the rehab.
  14. If he doesn't slip and Abrams doesn't reach first, I bet they don't even score on him.
  15. Thanks for the information, I just thought it was humourous that you said that other than a 23 game stretch when we have only played 33 games. Other then 2/3 of the time the bullpen has been good.😎
  16. Wow, I assumed too much. We have him for a total of three arby years. So, that is not as good, especially if this year is a lost year. Well hopefully ii is an issue where injury was hindering his performance and whenever he comes back, he will be an above average pitcher (even though he wasn't for KC last year)
  17. Even if he sucked all year, it is way too early to say bust. Whether on the player or the trade (from either side). Zerpa has five years to develop value. He might be a below average pen guy until he costs more than min.wage or maybe he is a starter for a couple of years in there, or becomes an Ashby.
  18. Or if you get insurance, what they will actually pay out on is very defined and rigid. Usually only a season-ending injury to begin with. And they wouldn't insure any body part with a history already. I doubt they actually have insurance on Woodruff.
  19. There is going to be alot of red after today I assume.
  20. I was surprised since he was hurrying to get ready the inning before, that he didn't come in instead of Drohan. Did they say something that I missed that he got hurt warming up?
  21. Don't agree with that logic. I can see Zerpa going down while those two stay up. Zerpa can be sent down. Zerpa hasn't pitched two innings in a game yet, so isn't stretched out for Woodford duty (even though they mentioned early on that he potentially could be a starter). Drohan is a also a lefty. Woodford is set up to pitch multiple innings, and is a righty the opposite of Zerpa/Drohan in case he has to pitch more important innings.. Drohan is still a question mark on his potential, whereas Zerpa has been working toward proving that last year is what he is.
  22. I"m not against Zerpa remaining on the team (if that is where he will get more coaching), but he shouldn't be pitching in any leverage situations. He and Woodford should be end of the totem pole. If Zerpa needs to work on pitch(es) send him to the minors and have him work on that with less pressure. If Murphy can't manage without a Koening lefty in the last three innings, then Ashby needs to be moved to strictly that role and not pitched before the 7th. Hall and Drohan (until he proves he can't) will have to pick up more of the load.
  23. I feel they are an above average team that seems to be in a tough division and of the seven series we have played, six of them have been against teams under .500. With the return dates for Chourio and Vaughn being pushed back if anything.
  24. Woodford hasn't pitched since March 29, so he is going to get some innings soon. So don't know if Red Sox are heavy left/right for a selection between the righty Woodford and the lefty Drohan.
  25. The Royals and Rays are .500 in games not played against Brewers. And the White Sox are 4-2 in games not against the Brewers.
