  1. I hate the fact that this cost Ben Sheets a Win. I hate the fact that this umpiring crew continues to cost the Brewers wins. I hate the fact that the Brewers haven't been to the playoffs since 1982. I hate the fact that I'm too young to remember the 82 season. I hate the fact that the Brewers swing and miss so much. I hate the fact that all Brewer aces get hurt. I hate the fact that Ned Yost is the Brewers manager. I hate the fact that the Brewers are playing all these extra inning games. I hate the fact that Ned Yost uses 5+ pitchers when he can use 3. I hate the fact that the Cubs now spend like the Yankees. I hate the fact that my favorite team lets me down every year. I hate the fact that I could name 100 more things I hate as a Brewer fan. I hate the fact that I can't simply stop being a Brewer fan because I'm in for the long haul.
  2. Do the Brewers really need anything else to be stacked against them? When does this end?
  3. Postseason 2006, your screename sugggests there was a time when the thought of a playoff berth in 2006 was reasonable. That's hard to fathom now. And not only does it seem that the next target for postseason to shoot for is 2009, but I'm starting to routinely contemplate the very real possibility that this wave of talent we currently enjoy will be off to greener pastures without ever making a single postseason appearance in Milwaukee. It's a stop you in your tracks type thought.
  4. You know how uncomfortable it is to listen to Yost's post game press conferences each day. You see a man who is hard to like. Can you picture any way that that attitude he carries doesn't every once in awhile rear it's ugly head in the lockeroom? Would you want to play for someone who carried himself like that? And even if you were a consumate professional and took his negativity like a man, would it not have a tendency to make you play the game like you had a ten-foot spear up your backside? Heck yes he's stifling this team. They all play like they have to be perfect every day. Add in the fact that as someone said perfectly earlier, he manages with no feel for the game, and you have a recipe for futility.
  5. I think the Brewers will be sellers at the deadline. Hopefully Sheets is healthy and productive to that point. If that scenario does play out, you trade Sheets for a king's ransom.
  6. I see a team with a load of talent that is not improving. Other teams have brought up young kids who seem to be progressing as expected at the major league level. Who that onus falls on is open for debate. I see a team that plays extremely tight. Who that particular shortfall can be atrributed to also is up for debate. However, when those two things seem to be taking place at the major league level, it's tough not to question how effective the coaching staff is. I also wonder why the bench coach position has been a revolving door. Screw it, I'll say it. I think the manager is stunting the growth of this team.
  7. That sucks. The scare we had (may still have) with Yo, should teach us all not to revel in other teams' injuries. I hope he comes back in good form.
  8. There's no room for debate. The guy has to go. When you have to further tax a bullpen by removing a pitcher in a 14-run blowout, then even in a mop up role, the guy is hurting your team. And why did Yost even bother warming anybody up, much less bring someone in for him. If his arm falls off before he gets the 3rd out, who cares? We are looking at another second half meltdown if Yost continues using 5-6 pitchers a game. After Suppan the only pitchers that should have seen action were McClung and Turnbow. Yost simply has to be smarter in economizing the use of his bullpen. In a blowout like that you don't use 5 pitchers. What's the difference if he leaves TBlow in and he gives up 10 more runs? It still only counts as one loss. It's already to the point that the team would be wise to diagnose a few guys with "tired arm" and rotate a few DL stints to get them 15 day rests. Scatter those throughout the year and alleviate the workload on these guys.
  9. What's our season high for runs in an inning? Regardless I'd like to see it topped right here.
  10. Good stuff to start off the 8th there...a monster shot by Prince and a momentum swinging bunt hit for Corey. Please let this be a turning point for this offense.
  11. Putting this into words so I can see it written with my own eyes... He's doesn't pinch hit for his pitcher in a 1-run game with the tying run on base, then proceeds to take that pitcher out after facing one batter in the next half inning. WOW.
  12. That's a new low for him. I'm in shock right now. There is no acceptable explanation for that manuever.
  13. Seriously, fire that man right after the game.
  14. No flipping way. That's a fireable offense.
  15. And I bet his arm still feels better right now than any of our 8 relievers.
  16. Someone tell Bill this has nothing to do with a shortage of pinch-hitters. That guy is not too bright.
  17. I am totally on board with this as long as Bush goes all nine.
  18. I know how pitching probables work. They were tweaked, just today in fact. Bush's start is getting skipped. The probables can be a usefull tool if you're up to date with changes made. Had anyone tried to make any predictions based on the probables listed yesterday at this time, yes it would be been fruitless.
  19. The latest from Anthony Witrado... So the answer is yes...this is Sheets related.
  20. Trying to sort through all this, I also saw that Villanueva is set to start tomorrow's game. Meaning of course that Bush's spot in the rotation has been skipped. http://brewers.mlb.com/news/probable_pitchers.jsp?c_id=mil
  21. Too bad he's not left-handed and capable of playing in the field.
  22. Isn't there a 5 day minimum before a player can be brought back up? Or am I just pulling that out of the air? For some reason I'm thinking 5 days.
  23. Is there a place to find out if a 14-man staff is a MLB record, pre-September roster expansion? Anyone know off hand by chance?
  24. I think this points to a trade in the works as opposed to Sheets uncertainty. At least the optimistic side of me says so. Maybe this buys Doug Melvin a day to strike a deal.
  25. I think Ned secretly wants to carry a 15 man pitching staff. 8 everyday position players, one backup catcher, and one super utility switch-hitting bench player who can play all 8 positions in the field.
