  1. This is what happens when you hand someone a job even without seeing a thing from him in the spring.
  2. Are we gonna start 2008 with another blown 3-run lead?
  3. Someone wanna explain to me again why Corey Hart isn't batting 5th?
  4. Given Yost's history my money is on Money.
  5. How about Shane Victorino? He'd look good in the 2-hole? I thought he was a FA.
  6. Under Yost, no matter how much talent, this club will NEVER rid itself of its inability to come up big in clutch situations and its tendency to underachieve in the second half. His boneheadedness and unique ability to put players in a position to fail simply CANNOT be overcome.
  7. Could this be the move that is so egregiously stupid that there can be no one left to deny that this dolt should be shown the door? And he plunks a guy to put a runner on base in advance of calling on Turnbow. I think my 4-year old niece even knows how bad Turnbow is when he enters a game with men on base.
  8. Another coaching turnover would be the second one under Yost, meaning essentialy Nedly's third staff since he got here. That would make no sense. You don't keep recycling the underbelly of the coaching staff without looking in the direction of the leader.
  9. That whole dang coaching staff can be sent right out if town. 40,000+ and everyone at home knew not to bring in Turnbow with a man on base. They surely knew not to leave him in with two on. And when he walked the bases loaded, there wasn't a single fan who follows the Brewers closely at all that didn't know what was about to happen. I don't ever want to see that choker pitch another game in a Brewer uniform. And that incompetent coaching staff acted just the way Nedly would have had he not been kicked out of his 3rd game in 4 days. Go see a hypnotist Turnbow, you frigging headcase. Maybe he can trick you into throwing strikes instead of peeing down your leg. ----- Continued here: viewtopic.php?f=63&t=30548
  10. I think the easiest argument against Yost is the .459 clip this team has played at for now near 80% of the season. Just too much talent for that result. Not to mention, the second half failures and road woes that are a repeating theme under Yost.
  11. Me too, that's $1400 I'll hand over with a smile.
  12. It was actually California, and I've been back in Wisconsin for awhile. A lot has changed, but all for the better. I've got a whole new career as a commodities broker and that will pretty much eliminate any possibilty of relocation since I'm tied into the company's future and it isn't going anywhere.
  13. He actually just called me back a second ago. When I saw the caller-id I knew right away it was him. I paused for a second in a moment of sheer exhilaration, wondering, could Yost have just been fired?!?!? I dismissed the thought quickly, answered, and sure enough, Nathan was just calling to confirm my address. He said he had a hard time reading his notes and didn't think I lived on Stonecoop Drive. I gave him the proper spelling and that was that. Personally, I think he just wanted to try the number to see if I was for real. That's okay, it's understandable.
  14. This will surely bring some heat on me, but the thread indicating Yost might be extended prompted me to call the Brewers season ticket office with the following exchange... Nathan took all my info and said he'll send the initail email regardless to get the ball rolling. I told him I was really excited about the talent and have been building to the point of becoming an annual season ticket holder, but I just can't commit to it with Yost at the helm. I made it very clear that he could call me the day Yost was canned and I promised I would buy the package for 2 seats. (20 game, field level, 2 seats, $35 each = $1400) I know he's not gonna run out of his office and tell his superiors about my ultimatum but I feel good nonetheless. If anything he'll be able to joke about the call with his coworkers. But I tell you what, I feel better having been able to voice my displeasure. And I'm fired up as ever to be able to commit to a Brewers season ticket package. Cause if I'm signing on, it can only mean one thing...Yost is toast.
  15. If they bring him back and one of them says something like that, then all my faith in either of them goes out the window as well. I have zero doubt in my mind that a capable manager has us up at least a game or two on the Cubs right now. No one in this world will ever convince me otherwise. Ned's in-game AND in-season management have cost this team way too many games for it not to be recognizable to a competent baseball man
  16. I too have this this weird, horrifying feeling that Nedly will be brought back next year. It's beyond ridiculous. What part of these continued second half collapses and Yost's mind-boggling career road record suggest any remote reason to bring him back? Isn't the risk that his pattern of driving the bullpen into the ground with early overuse every year will repeat too great to even take a chance on repeating again. Every year the bullpen starts out great. To me that shows that talent is there. But Yost drives them into the ground. And every year the bullpen is a shell in the second half. Before being sent down, Villanueva led MLB in relief innings pitched. That's crazy. When Yost got here we had a 11 man pitching staff like every one else. Now, Yost needs a 13 man staff and forces Melvin to give away the farm to compensate for wearing them thin. To me, the Yost/Melvin match is fundamentally flawed. Yost's biggest weakness is handling a pitching staff, specifically bullpen. And bullpen is the one area where Melvin has to be budget conscious in a small market. I think Melvin has done a good enough job supplying Yost with a capable staff. And every year without fail, Yost runs them into the ground.
  17. Only problem with that is ignoring all of the scheduled days off recently. Didn't Carlos Lee play 162 games while he was with us? I'm glad to see Dillon get that big hit, but to me it's just another in a series of Yost head scratchers that ranks among the few that might work out.
  18. Now is not the time for days off. Braun is not a pansy. And a September pennant race is most definitely not the "perfect opportunity" for this nonsense.
  19. There are a few posts about it in the IGT. Yeah, it doesn't make sense to me unless Braun's banged up. Yeah, I spent 10 minutes looking for any news on Braun before I posted anything. I figured a minor tweak for Braun would be the only logical explanation. Short of an injury, this lineup is absurd. It's absurd in April and it's downright suicidal in September.
  20. I can't believe the board hasn't exploded with this ridiculous lineup today. Counsell and Dillon have no business in this lineup this time of year. I thought all those days off throughout the year were for September so that the guys would be able to play every day down the stretch. When I saw that Counsell and Dillon were due up in the bottom of the first I blew a gasket. Then they both proceeded to strike out and I felt compelled to come here. Counsell I blame on Melvin. I knew the day he was signed Yost would overuse him. Melvin should have seen this coming. As for Dillon, I don't think Melvin ever had any idea that Yost would bat him in the 3 -hole in September. I'm seriously contemplating ways to kidnap Ned Yost and keep him away from this team. Anyone have any idea where he lives? ----- Continued from: viewtopic.php?p=238061#p238061 Original Lead: viewtopic.php?f=63&t=382
  21. I certainly hope it's merely a "public" vote of confidence. I'm glad the poster brought up those comments though. I've been trying to get others read on those comments myself. If you were an executive running a business and one of your lead managers was displaying that kind of self-doubt could you possibly sit back and let him continue in his current capacity if it were such a crucial point in time for your business? To me its a no-brainer, the guy needs to be replaced immediately. Cut him a check for whatever remains on his contract and wish him well.
  22. The level of anger I feel right now incites an opportunity for me to mention how intensely infuriated I was to throw in my Harvey's Wallbangers DVD for the 1st time recently and see how much commentary Yost provided. It absolutely ruined the entire program. What were the producers thinking? That DVD is useless to me now. How can I ever throw it in to re-live that team when the sight of the manager who ruined the current team is so abundant?
  23. The one bright spot in all of this is that I won't have to endure this next season. Either Yost will be gone or I'll be on the sidelines not watching until he is. The Brewers will not get a dime from me if that man is the manager next year.
