  1. Let's hope the rain holds off. It should be awesome seeing Bushy pitch in Appleton, and I'd really like to get Lawrie and Cain autos.
  2. Does Moli spend much time signing at Snappers games? The last game I attended I saw 1 or 2 folks get his autograph, but I wasn't sure if that was an anomaly. I'd like to get a ball signed and give it to the young man I mentor. Is it out of line to ask for a sweet spot or inscription?
  3. R: 42 H: 96 TB: 145 2B: 25 HR: 6 RBI: 33 BB: 18 SO: 45 SB: 5 AVG: .316 OBP: .355 SLG: .477 OPS: .832 I'd say these numbers are more than solid for a guy playing on a good team. They are spectacular for a guy playing on Pittsburgh. I'd love to see him batting #2 for the Crew this year and next. edit: format
  4. I'm not sure how much this changes the Sox needs, but they just came to terms with Cuban phenom Jose Iglesias. Cuban signing Official word is expected later this month, but the Red Sox [team stats] and Cuban shortstop Jose Iglesias have agreed to terms on an $8 million-plus deal, according to a source familiar with the talks. The 19-year-old defector is considered to be a defensively gifted player with major league caliber glove skills. His offensive potential appears to be a question mark. He has been heavily scouted since defecting in Canada a year ago. The Red Sox have been scouting him for months, and have been working him out at their complex in the Dominican Republic. The scouting report on the 5-foot-10, 180-pound Iglesias, according to Baseball Prospectus, is "flashy glovework" with "fringe-average speed." Iglesias "makes the most of his ability, with instincts that enhance his tools and excellent makeup," the report said. http://www.bostonherald.com/sports/baseball/red_sox/view.bg?articleid=1184016
  5. The author uses the full name the first time the individual is mentioned and "Mr." each time after. Thanks for sharing the article.
  6. I have an extra Frisco Roughriders Nix. PM me if you're interested.
  7. Congrats to Badger. Send me a PM to claim your bobble.
  8. I'll up the ante for the July prediction thread. The winner this month will receive a pair of tickets for an August or September game. 1 vs NYM (1-0) 4 @ CHC (2-2) 3 vs STL (2-1) 3 vs LAD (1-2) 4 @ CIN (2-2) 3 @ PIT (3-0) 3 vs ATL (2-1) 4 vs WSH (3-1) 1 @ SD (0-1) 14 games at Miller Park 12 games on the road Tiebreaker: Prince & Braun total HRs + Hoffman saves. It looks like a brutal schedule. My extremely optimistic prediction is 16-10.
  9. Any songs by U2 (take off your sunglasses you pretentious @&%!) and The Eagles (Desperado in particular).
  10. Its great to see so much support for the T-Rats. From Timber Rattlers Webpage GRAND CHUTE, WI - The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers are in uncharted territory. The Midwest League affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers have broken the 100,000 mark in attendance in the first half for the first time in the fifteen year history of the franchise. The benchmark was surpassed on Friday night when 3,602 were on hand to push the Timber Rattler attendance to 102,999. The previous first half record for the franchise was set in 1998 when 92,563 fans attended games at then four-year old Fox Cities Stadium. "The Timber Rattlers want to thank all of our fans for making this possible," said Timber Rattlers president Rob Zerjav. "It has been a terrific first half and the crowds have been great. Our staff is already hard at work to make the second half of the season even better." Wisconsin ended their first half schedule on Saturday night in front of 4,363 fans at Time Warner Cable Field to give the team a first half attendance of 107,362 in 33 openings for an average of 3,253 per game. The single season attendance record for Appleton baseball was set in 1996, when 233,797 fans attended Timber Rattler home games. Wisconsin hits the road for an eight-game road trip that begins on Sunday. The team returns home to begin an assault on the single season record on Thursday, June 25. Fans have several options for purchasing tickets to the remaining 35 games of the 2009 regular season. They may go to the Timber Rattlers tickets box office at Time Warner Cable Field, call either 800-WI-TIMBER or (920) 733-4152, or on-line at www.timberrattlers.com. http://wisconsin.timberrattlers.milb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20090613&content_id=5315644&vkey=news_t572&fext=.jsp&sid=t572
  11. Agreed. When he is on he is one of the best. He also deserves a sedative and shock collar.
  12. I prefer the term "stopper." Any pitcher that can come in during a losing streak and shut the opponent down is an ace or stopper IMO.

  14. Koko the monkey.
  15. I think 70 degrees is the magic number for opening the roof.
  16. I had a cat Siamese cat with blue eyes named Moli when I was a kid too. My mom and sister had quite the crush on Molitor.
  17. Yes. As we know ballplayers only cheat on their girlfriends and wives on days that end in "y."
  18. I'd love the tickets. Please enter me in the drawing. I haven't been able to attend games and be a Brewer crazy this year because I lost my job. Your continued generosity is much appreciated, Pedro.
  19. Please enter me in the drawing. Thanks again, Pedro.
  20. I think the point is that no one actually sits in the seats for promo games. I think the Eucker seats are a great idea, but I would charge a premium (say $5 per seat on bobblehead games) and donate the money to charity or public parks. Its a win-win-win. The collector/ebayer gets an extra bobble, the charity/parks get some extra money, the Brewers get some PR.
  21. ABs would matter for the sample size. A batting average of .300 is more impressive with 200 ABs than a batting average of .300 with 100 ABs. When comparing the players I didn't include walks which would make ABs a wash. May we move on to picking on people who didn't select Albert as the starting 1B now? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  22. I was thinking the same thing when I was picking my all stars. I'd like to see him play in one more time.
