  1. I will admit, I'm in agreement with RoCoBrewfan on this one. At the very least add a question mark to the end of "Outrighted".
  2. I was hoping to see a little better performace from Capuano. Hopefully we can at least get the win tonight.
  3. Lucroy is a year younger, plays a far more physically demanding position, and in less than 200 major league at bats has offensive numbers a little bit better than Gomez. Gomez has been in the majors for 4 years. He stunk in 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010. He has almost 1300 at bats in the majors to improve and adjust, and he never has. What exactly are people expecting from this guy? If we ever count on him as anything more than a defensive sub, we have issues.
  4. So, this is what a team still in contention looks like. Hmm.
  5. Melvin doesn't need help from any of us to make the case he is a bad GM any stronger, he's doing just fine by himself.
  6. If this is true, that Melvin thinks we are too close to being in contention this year to make deals, he needs to be shown the door and never allowed to have anything to do with the Brewers ever again. I hope this report is wrong, and that our GM really is not as big of an idiot as he appears right now.
  7. As much as I hate to see the Brewers lose, this is probably a good time for it. A win tonight may have convinced Melvin we are still "in it", and probably had a significant impact on his approach to the trade deadline. Maybe, just maybe, a night like tonight shows him just how far away we are from being "in it" and helps him put a deal or two together this week.
  8. Maybe we can trade Wolf to St. Louis for Jeff Suppan.
  9. In my suggestion above, I was thinking along the lines of Davis not being enough for Fielder, but Davis and Upton being too much for him. So if we sent along 2 players who could help the Rays out this year, maybe that would even things out a bit. (Bush stepping in to their rotation if they don't bring Hellickson up for whatever reason or if another pitcher gets hurt, and Edmonds filling in in center as well as being a decent lefty batter off the bunch) Bush's stats aren't as awful as a lot of people assume they are. This all assumes the Rays really decide to go for it this year as well.
  10. I wonder if the Brewers could pull off something like Fielder/Edmonds/Bush for Wade Davis and BJ Upton. It may be safe to say Upton has worn out his welcome in Tampa Bay.
  11. He should probably worry more about making sure he would deserve to get in, and if he does, being healthy enough to pitch in it before he gets too wrapped up in playing politics.
  12. Jose Ortiz, lol. Classic.
  13. Statements like this make it hard to take you seriously.
  14. Sending them home seems like an act of mercy at this point, least they don't have to sit and watch the team "play".
  15. If we end up only getting Sanchez for Hart, I will completely lose the little amount of faith I have in Melvin. Sanchez is nothing special. At all.
  16. I am waiting for the JS article that blames Manny Parra for Narveson's horrific outing tonight.
  17. Hart and Villaneuva for Bumgarner. I know that a lot of us don't think much of Corey Hart, but the Giants really do seem to like him, a lot.
  18. So yesterday he didn't need a DL stint, and now he does. Ok. Am I the only one with no faith in our medical staff?
  19. If I'm Doug Melvin, I hold out until they add Ryan Zimmerman.
  20. Now would be a good time for Braun to do something productive.
  21. Clearly Wolf is proving himself to be a viable pinch hitter.
  22. The more I see of him, the more I am starting to think there is a distinct possibilty he is trying to play through some sort of injury.
  23. Two things. First, sometime late next year, probably around August, the news that the Brewers released Randy Wolf will be greeted with the same celebratory atmosphere that the release of Suppan brought. Secondly, there HAS to be something wrong with Braun. He looks horrible and he hasn't gotten a big hit that I can remember for a long time despite having plenty of chances to do so.
