  1. Interesting way to put it. I have seen more scalpers there than just about any other stadium I have been to. On the walk from where we parked (at the Arch) we passed people on every street corner. It was amazing how many people were reselling. IMHO the best view in the ballpark is anywhere you can see the Arch out left center field. We made the mistake of sitting down the RF line and couldn't see the great skyline. Also we were in the first row of the second level and it felt VERY far away from the field compared to Miller Park. For being a new park I was not impressed at all at the "amenities/character" of the ballpark.
  2. Sidestep.com is another good site that searches all airlines and has an e-mail you can subscribe to. Most individual airlines have similar "deal" e-mails they send out if you sign up.
  3. I believe there are a few with 25 rows (424 is one). For a few more $ terrace box is a nice alternative (may have to go down a few rows, instead of up a bunch) and there are less people walking in front of you or walking up and down the stairs than if you are in the terrace reserved. I have tickets in both reserved and box and have the box tix for just the reason of less "foot traffic".
  4. It shouldn't matter where you have it done, it is based on the "quality" of the original picture. With good quality pictures I have had a lot of luck with prints of all sizes on line (usually kodakgallery.com).
  5. Was not that excited with the zoo (maybe because it has been hyped so much). It was nice, but very spread out and very expensive. Wild Animal park was better from local reviews (just did not have time for both). Dodger Stadium might be the worst stadium I have been to, good luck.
  6. I think you would have a much better arguement from a safety perspective then from a competition perspective (although both seem valid). If they don't want to address the safety issue, then it might be time to find a new league.
  7. SportClips is better than most chains IMHO. And you get to watch SPORTS!
  8. Same story as reported locally by WISN 12 six weeks earlier. Includes other players accounts. http://www.wisn.com/video/19589231/index.html
  9. I have an extra Valvoline Instant 4-pack offer that I can not use (Buy 2- Get 2 Terrace Reserved). All of the dates are Wednesdays (7/29, 8/12, 8/26 & 9/9). If you are interested let me know and I will drop it in the mail. I just ask that you use this for personal use and not to resell.
  10. Our lender (Landmark Credit Union) is currently 5.375% for 30yr fixed. We "locked" in 6.25 2 years ago. I have seen it as low as 5.0% over the last few months. Closing costs/fees were $600-$1,000 as I recall. I think if it goes down again we will re-fi.
  11. I hope people coming to Milwaukee for a game have a much better time finding things to do than I have been able to for Cleveland and Detroit.
  12. Heading to Cleveland and Detroit next week and havn't settled on much to do yet other than the games and the Rock n' Roll Hall. Bobble will be a nice perk.
  13. Get an entertainment book (www.entertainment.com). I never go on vacation without (and have one for Milwaukee too.) They have them for most major cities. Even if you are only there a few days if you can use one or two coupons the book pays for itself. You can view a list of some of the coupons included on the website, not necesarily Disney, but "Orlando attractions", dining and transportation also. I already have mine for Cleveland and Detroit for next week!
  14. The music and the clock are great additions.
  15. Two tickets for Tuesdays game (5/26) vs the Cards. Sec 426 Row 18 on the AISLE. I paid $14/each, would take $15/pair OBO. I have other tickets so I can't use these. Must be picked up in downtown Milwaukee BEFORE 4pm or picked up at will call AFTER 6pm. Paypal payment.
  16. According to the Brewers website in the Ballpark A-Z Guide. "All parking lots close within one hour after the game or other event. All vehicles must be removed at this time. There is no overnight parking and violators may be ticketed and/or towed at owner's expense. " That being said I have never been kicked out.
  17. It will be interesting to see this in use. It is all in the execution, could be really cool or end up a disaster.
  18. The times I've looked at stub hub it has always been high relative to what I see on craigslist. But maybe the prices drop as the game gets near. BUt the advantage is the "Fan Guarentee" with Stubhub. You know you are getting REAL tickets and most have the print at home feature. Very handy.
  19. Was just ok the few times I had it last year. Definately in the milk area at Pick n Saves. Kept buying it just to support it and the charities. Maybe it is good as a mixer?
  20. I assume if I wanted to sit for the whole thing I would go to the Opera or Theater.
  21. I was at all 3 games this weekend. I couldn't belive the amount of times we had to stand to let people (who did have tickets in our row) in and out. Seems like maybe between innings is a good time to go get food or to the restroom. I felt like we were the only ones actually watching the game in our row. Sunday there was a weird thing... A cop had been standing at the top of the aisle in the next section (414/415), presumably keeping an eye on things. She came over to talk to a Brewers fan who was standing and cheering late in the game as the team was trying to rally and told him to sit down. From what I could see no one was offended by his standing and cheering and was a critical part of the game and he was rallying behind his team. That actually escallated into a shouting match (between the cop and fan) about what was appropriate. Very odd since he was not obnoxious and was cheering for the HOME team.
  22. That is some pretty amazing damage to his pants for him not to end up hurt.
  23. Second this one. I have never been there, but when my brother lived in NY he would go here for Packers etc. Not sure about the viewing experience, but that is the place Wisconsinites gather. Usinger Brats too, I think.
  24. There are lots of nice areas that are affordable too. I had the same thought about 'stallis having grown up in Wauwatosa, but my wife found a house she loved and we moved in almost 2 years ago not 2 miles from where I grew up. Never thought I would live there (probably some of the same reasons your finance has), but found a nice, affordable house on a quiet street close to State Fair, with easy access to I-94. I wouldn't rule it out. Also generally a short commute to Tosa and likely cheaper than the other suburbs you mentioned. West Allis seems to get nicer the further West you go (bigger #'s streets).
