  1. With not having to compensate Miami, he is worth an offer of two years at around $4 per year. A goo utility player that can start at 2b until KH is ready.
  2. Braves might want Santana to fill in RF for Markakis. Maybe we could get a one of there young pitchers?
  3. They beat Florida!
  4. That is true, maybe it is just reporters trying to make something out of nothing. I do now Coach Bud loved Korver in ATL. Gotta clear some salary to keep even 2 of Middleton, Bledsoe, Brogdon, and Lopez together, let alone all 4 of them. Arguably the second-best starting 5 in the NBA right now. Smith and Korver are only guaranteed about $7.3m next season. It would be a pipe dream to get rid of Snell and Dellavedova for that. All the wasteful spending several years ago has made guys like Smith and Korver much more valuable in trades because so many teams are looking to clear salary. Also, Snell is a dime-a-dozen type of 3-and-d guy right now. His defense is extremely overrated because he's only good as a 1-on-1 defender against guys who don't have a huge quickness advantage. He's not versatile enough to guard quick guards or small-ball 4's, and he's not a smart, alert team defender. He's also not good at actively seeking 3-point opportunities and getting into open passing lanes to help out guys like Giannis when they're doubled. He just passively stands behind the arc and hits over 40% of his 3's precisely because he gets the easy, open ones, and only those. And other than his solid 1-on-1 man defense and good shooting on easy 3's, he's an absolutely terrible basketball player. One of the worst ball-handlers and rebounders at sf I've seen in my entire life. Even at his age, Korver creates extra 3-point opportunities above and beyond the ones any scrub with a decent jumper would get in this offense. He's also a much more astute team defender than Snell, and that's more important than 1-on-1 defense in this day and age. Well said. We will see what happens.

  6. Ask yourself this question... Why does Arizona want to trade him at this point? The answer may be more than just salary relief.
  7. Bucks Trade Rumor Coach Bud like Kyle Kover-probably the best pure shooter outside Golden State, he has other flaws. Kover $7.5/2 years JR Smith 14.5/2 years for Delly $9.5/2 years Snell 10.5/3 years S Brown 1.5 or Wilson 2.5 It would get rid of 3 years of Snell for 2 years of Smith and give Coach Bud another shooting assassin. Maybe add a 2nd rounder? Would Cleveland do this. Smith has been a team problem this year and the change would do Cleveland and him some good.
  8. At the end of the day, no one really know what packages are being offered, and how the Marlins value each of them. Judging by who the Marlins chose in the Yelich deal, though, I would imagine that they are going to focus more on tools and upside than prospects that are MLB ready. But just because a team offers a theoretical package of multiple guys on some arbitrary Top 100 list doesn't mean that the Marlins don't put a higher value on a different package. I guess my point was teams don't offer theoretical packages, they offer packages. I trust that DS will not go overboard in trading away the farm.
  9. Who said Houston would give that much? It is just a way to drive up the cost. If Houston wants to give up that much, let them.
  10. Players added to the 40-man tend prior to Rule 5 tend to make it through their first full year on the 40-man without being removed. Looking back, Brock Kjeldgaard was DFA'd on July 27th, eight months after being added to the 40-man, one of the few examples like that I could find since the start of the Melvin/Stearns era. That is good news. Hopefully he gets is shot this coming year. It just looks like with Braun in the outfield that their is no place for Santana and he does not make a very good 4th outfielder. Taylor fits that bill better than him and to an extent Broxton (although I really love Broxton's defense).
  11. I like special, special kids with pure power bats. I'm very excited to see Hiura's performance next season. Every time I have seen him play, he just hits the ball hard. His outs make you feel good. His bat most reminds me of a young Ryan Braun.
  12. I felt the same. If he hasn't gotten a shot yet I don't see how he'll ever get one with Milwaukee. I'd love to keep him around but I don't know why he would re-sign here again. I agree. He could go elsewhere and get a shot at the big leagues that Milwaukee does not seen to want do. Heck, Mike Zagurski got a shot last year and we saw what he has.
  13. Looked pretty good against Xavier. Free throw shooting still is a concern.
  14. So he is a utility outfielder with a more than little power and pretty good on base ability. Sounds like a better option than Santana since he can play all three outfield positions. I wonder if he can adapt to being a one at bat pinch hitter? I have never seen him make a big throw, does anyone know what his arm strength is like?
  15. I don't get the lack of love for Tyrone Taylor, a high draft choice who has performed better at every level and now is showing power at 24 years old. Pretty much the same numbers as Corey Ray at the same age. Not saying they are the same, with most on this board liking Ray better, although I consider Tyrone's consistency a plus over Ray. I just don't understand why more people don't see him more valuable than a number 25-35 prospect ranking. Being that the Brewers put him on the 40 man roster tells me they think he is MLB ready and either will spend some time in Milwaukee in 2019 or he will be used in a trade asset, much like they view Ray. Again I am not saying I don't like Ray or his value, especially him being a left handed hitter, I just don't see why Taylor is ignored.

  17. MKE=MIA GM Discussion DS- So what do you want for that catcher with only two years left on his contract? MIA GM- Any trade will start with that 2B prospect. DS- No can do, and don't ask for Burnes either both are off the table. MIA GM- What about Peralta and Woodruff along with three other A+ or below guys? DS- Sorry, you can have one of those pitchers, but not both. The three prospects we can work out. MIA GM- Your killing me. Ill take Woodruff, Nottingham and Gatewood with those three prospects. DS- I'm ok with that, but you need to also give me Adam Conley. Six for two is a pretty sweet deal. Tick tock. MIA GM- Can't do Conley. What about Woodruff, Nottingham and Gatewood with two prospects? DS- Woodruff, Nottingham and Gatewood with one prospects or add in Conley and get the three prospects. MIA GM- Woodruff, Nottingham and Gatewood with two prospects. DS- I gave you two great offers, just pick one. MIA GM- Woodruff, Nottingham and Gatewood and Caden Lemons. DS- Done
  18. I think there are more with you than you suspect. Hiura only goes if Realmuto is signing an extension if it were up to me. And since I think that's very unlikely, I'm betting on Keston getting the call to Milwaukee for a long enjoyable run starting in June. I'm with you! Keep him! +1. KH is off the table..
  19. Peralta, Nottingham, Gatewood, and a low level pitcher with high upside. They get 1.a MLB ready arm 2.a catcher to replace JT 3.a power hitting almost ready 3b/1b 4. a flyer If that is not enough, move on
  20. I look at it as two scenarios... 1. Lose Moose, keep Thames 2. Keep Moose, trade Thames either way you will get little or nothing back from either scenario.
  21. I think Naylor would be the prize of that SD trade.
  22. My bet would be Hader becomes a Loogy if needed.
  23. You can see why Gio is liked as the Game 1 starter.
  24. When you watch him live, you just say "wow, he is so much better than anyone else the Shuckers have". And they had a lot of good hitters at AA this year! I think he could start the 2019 year in MKE, but probably at AAA for at least a couple of months. I think who they keep at 2b over the winter will forecast the speed of the rise of KH to MKE.
  25. Maybe eight man rotation? 1.Chacin 2.Kikuchi (5/???) 3.Miley (2/12)/Burnes 4.Gio (1/6)/Woodruff 5.Nelson/Peralta Pen (6 off these stay) Jennings Cedeno Lyles Barnes T.Williams Guerra Jeffress Hader Knebel Trade Anderson and Davies (and Albers if you can get anything for him) for A+ or AA pitching prospects Let Soria go (cost cut). Z. Brown, Derby, Hauser Diplon, Supak, Ponce at AAA If Miley and Gio sign for that little, I will start my own Eat Crow Thread. Neither will get $10 mill a year, maybe $8 mill a year. Maybe we get a home team discount! Any more than I would go elsewhere or use internal options.
