  1. Joantgel Segovia 7/6/14 from Mr. Southpaw "The kid is 17 years old playing for the Brewers DR league team. Small sample size.... Games......22 AB............91 Average....385 Walks........8 SO............9 OPP..........447 SLG..........440 He takes a walk at a decent rate at the age of 17! I hope his hitting is what it looks like." He went 5 for 5 last night (7/7/14). He might not be able to hit a curve, but he is 17 years old and batting .400 with almost 100 at bats. My new "most intriguing prospect".
  2. Having a healthy Henderson is better than trade prospects for a "rent an arm".

  4. Same story...... He pitched 1.1 innings yesterday (7/6). 0 runs 0 hits 3 strike outs
  5. Another Gamel?
  6. I will take a crack at making a list. 1. Coulter........I too, am a big fan 2. Arcia...........I think he will be in Milwaukee in 2017, maybe starting! 3. Haniger.......Seen him play at AA, seems to be very steady. 4. Taylor..........Could be our best prospect, like Arcia, could be starting in MLB in 2017. 5. Cravy..........Performance first. Almost two years of 2.00 ERA. Nice three pitch stuff. 6. Denson........Hitting with power at 19 years old. 7. Wagner........Very consistent starter at A+ 8. Lopez..........Showing us the money. 9. Jungman......Servicable starter. Maybe a 5th starter at some point. 10 T Williams....Have not seen him pitch, but his stats are there. Thornberg anybody? 11 D Williams....Starting to show us the money. Only 19 years old. 12 Segovia.......17 year old hitting almost hitting .400 and he takes walks too. 13 Lara............16 years old. 3.2 million. Somebody knows something. Show me the money! 14 Delmonico....Needs to step it up 15 Zarraga.......Switch hitting catcher hitting about .350 in AA/AAA. Can he play 1B or RF? 16 Harrison.......Show me the money. 17 Medeiros......Young pitchers take so long, but again show me the money. 18 Reed...........I have always like him. He needs to make the next step. 19 Matos..........Helena 3B with a little power. 20 B Diaz.........Helena CF with power, 19 years old next ten 21 Goforth........Next reliever after Jeffress 22 Demuth.......In Appleton. 23 Newhaus......Very young. Show me the money. 24 Gagnon........Nice AA year. 25 Bradley........Got himself to AA, can he make the next step? 26 Roache.........Power means nothing if you don't hit the ball. Please, SMTM. 27 McFarland.....Nice A year in Appleton. 28 H Johnson.... Nice year at A+. 29 Raterree.......Lots of power. 30 Rivera..........Utility guy in the Counsell frame. 7. Henderson pitched at Arizona last night. Help is on the way.
  8. Henderson pitched in Arizona yesterday. 1.1 innings one hit no runs. Hope he has no swelling on the Fourth of July.
  9. Is it time to do another Top 20? The Rookie Leagues have started and everyone is playing.
  10. If it takes much more than Haniger and Jungmann to get Morneau I would not do the trade.
  11. I would still like to see him break a nail and go on the 90 day DL.
  12. How about... Morris........... Take the place of Morneau Jungmann..... Six years as a number 4 or 5 One of.......... Pena, Moye, Suter, Magnifico, H Johnson, or Ross for Morneau........ One and a half years at an affordable price
  13. Would something like this work? Estrada One year of Arby left, not bad starter for the price Morris Take the place of Morneau Jungmann Six years as a number 4 or 5 for JDLR We take the $11 mill contract and get a slight upgrade at number 5 Morneau One and a half years at an affordable price
  14. JDLR was a Brewer back in the day, he now makes $11 mill a year. Anybody have an idea what it would take to get one or both?
  15. It is time for Wang to trip over his shoelace and break something like his left index finger, so he goes on the DL for the rest of the year.
  16. What would it take to get both JDLR and Morneau from the Rockies. I don;;t think JDLR will give the Rockies a compensation pick....or will he? Morneau has a friendly two year contract. If we start with Estrada, Morris and a decent AAA pitcher, what would we need to add or would that be enough?
  17. HiAndTight said: One guy I'm still holding out some hope for is Richardson. He has all the tools. I think his time off hurt him, but I'm hoping he has a real big second half and can still turn into a everyday regular. Very discouraging year from him. I keep hearing that the power will come with maturity but he is 26 in a month and a slugging under 300 just isn't acceptable. He is a plus plus centerfield with good power. He runs like a deer in the outfield. I will give him a pass until he doesn't hit for two years. He is an amazing athlete. Think of him as a Carlos Gomez lite and need a little time to develop. As of now he is not taking the place of someone at a lower level, although TT needs to be AA next year.
  18. With a number of contracts expiring, what do we get for these players as far as draft compensation? 2015 Rickie Weeks Nothing Francisco Rodriguez Nothing or Maybe Mark Reynolds Nothing Lyle Overbay Nothing Tom Gorzelanny Nothing Zach Duke Nothing 2016 Yovani Gallardo End of 1st Round Compensation Pick Aramis Ramirez Nothing Marco Estrada ??? Kyle Lohse End of 1st Round Compensation Pick 2017 Carlos Gomez End of 1st Round Compensation Pick 2018 Jonathan Lucroy End of 1st Round Compensation Pick
  19. I saw Cravy pitch last weekend and he made the Dodger AA's at Chattanooga look confused. His fastball was as high as 93 and had two breaking balls (slider and curve) with a really nice high overhand delivery. He seems to pitch much more than throw. With no injuries, I see no reason why he cannot be a solid MLB number 3-4.
  20. I just don't see Melvin doing a big trade at mid season. It sounds good, but if it doesn't work..... I watched Nick Rameriz last week and came away impressed with his power and defense. If Morris does not work out, I think he can step in and be ok. I know Overbay "has been there", but calling up Morris and moving up Rameriz should be considered. I just don't see what a whole year in AAA/AA does for either of them. I do thin Nelson and Fiers can both give us what Estrada can give us. If we could get the 1b/3b of the future, I would go for it.
  21. Not broke, don't fix. Estrada will not be traded unless we dive. If they are ten games up midway, add a piece with a low level prospect trade like the KRod for Delmonico trade last year.
  22. I went to the game last night and was quite impressed with a few exceptions. D'Vo can play defense, a deer in the outfield. When he hits the ball he hits it hard. He reminds me of a poor mans Mike Cameron. Ramirez can play defense, a big cat who picks everything at 1B. He can also hit the ball hard. Between Hunter Morris and Nick we will have a MLB first baseman. Rogers can not play 3B. He backs up consistently and does not attack balls. He is worse than Ryan Braun at 3B. I would move him off 3B immediately and move up Nick Delmonico from A+. Cravy can really pitch. Nice overhand delivery with a nice breaking ball. Chattanooga is really bad at striking out or Tyler is really good at striking out batters. Nick Shaw is tiny.
  23. Keep Wang and let the others develop. Suter could be a Marco Estrada type left. Just because he doesn't throw 90+ doesn't mean he can't pitch. Throwers throw and pitchers pitch.
  24. What about a trade with the D Backs for Cliff Pennington? He has a reasonable contract and it looks like Arizona may be out of it early. Switch hitter that can play three infield position. Good fielder and hits about .250. Sounds like Craig Counsell. He makes about 2.5 mill this year. What would it take to get him at the end of June/early July?
