  1. This isn't my personal argument, but I think the voters use this argument. MVP is most VALUABLE player, not best player. If player A is the best player in the league but he is on a last place team, he isn't as valuable as player B, who is the best player on the first place team. That's why I like the silver slugger awards best, because they aren't voted on and they are just based on a compilation of offensive stats per position. But, I haven't really had to much problem with the MVP voting in the past. It always comes down to a couple players and you can make arguments for any of them. Gold Glove on the other hand, just needs to go away.
  2. I was just kidding actually. But, personally, I think Doink and all his little clowns was more annoying.
  3. So, if I'm getting this straight, nobody has The Spirit Squad in their top five? Watching male cheerleaders getting beat up should be in the Olympics. It's pretty much what I picture heaven to be like.
  4. That brings up whole new questions then. Why would he be presenting Rodgers for the top 100 countdown? I've been watching it, and it's almost always the coach or a teammate doing the presenting. I think they just need to sign him and Nhamdi (sp?) and that team just becomes sick. Won't happen, but I can dream. Would be a great present right now, considering I just hit a deer on my way home from work tonight with my Mustang. Having a bad night. Come on Ted, make it happen.
  5. At the beginning of the year, the consensus was that the Brewers were going all in for this year. That included keeping Prince for the season and seeing what happens. Unless the Crew are out of it by the deadline, they can't trade Prince and still be all in. Unless of course they replace the production of Prince through the trade, but considering the numbers that Prince is putting up, it's hard to replace that.
  6. Back in the Monday night wars, I was always a WCW guy, and couldn't stand the WWE. So the NWO to me was bitter sweet because, yeah, it was great at the time till it got too big. It was fun to watch and really gave the WCW the shot in the arm that it needed. But, ultimately, Hall, Nash, and Hogan were about themselves and they sucked that company dry with those ridiculous contracts, until the company just couldn't make money anymore. So the NWO was the worst thing to ever happen to WCW in the long run. In the short run, it was great. But, if WCW would have never brought those two pieces of garbage (Hall and Nash), and instead worked on resigning the talent that they had, (Jericho, Benoit, Guerrero, Malenko, the Dudleys etc.) they would probably still be around today. They might have never been as big as they were for about six months, but they would be better off in the long run. So as a WCW fan, I vote for the NWO to be the WORST stable of all time, simple because it killed wrestling for me. I'll tune into TNA sometimes, but WWE is still a bunch of watered down crap.
  7. I don't think I would trade them for just Reyes since we'd basically be trading a rental for a rental, but Tulo, heck yeah. Isn't the guy signed till he's like 85?
  8. Being originally from the Fondy area, everyone who has any interest in youth baseball know Larry. He's a cool guy and deserves good things.
  9. I used all three of my emails and voted the max for Weeks, Braun (doesn't need it), Fielder (probably doesn't need anymore with the great news about Pujols), and Lucroy. Did my part, so hopefully this homestand can get some sellouts and get some votes for Rickie.
  10. Karma will get you every time. The only thing that would be more fitting, is if while he's standing at home for a year and a half watching a homerun, a bird drops a deuce on his head. Classy or not, I am very happy at this moment.
  11. Ah, then that makes sense. Swing and a miss by them then.
  12. I for one would love to have Heath Bell. But, I don't think we have enough to get him that we would be willing to part with. As for Mike Adams, we already had him once, why didn't we want him back then?
  13. Safecracking is always a good back-up plan, but I was thinking it sounded like more of a Mafia strongman. Congrats to the Axfords.
  14. When Morgan is in the lineup, I would love for him to leadoff, Weeks second and Hart 5th. I'll be pushing for this lineup till it happens, so probably forever.
  15. Great at bat by Weeks. I hope everyone else is looking. It is possible to not swing at balls. Who'd a thunk that?
  16. I would love just once, to switch Weeks and Morgan around. Try it Ron, you might like it!!!
  17. Hopefully Zack dominates and we win handily, cause I'm assuming Axford is Unavailable tonight.
  18. Speaking of Axford though, who gets the save chance if we need it?
  19. I never really thought Barry Bonds was an unkind person. He seems to appreciate his fans, and especially always seemed kind to the young fans. He detests the media (all media), and unlike other athletes he never hid his disdain for the media. He took steroids. Big deal, he was one of many that took steroids and lied about it. He lied to a grand jury. Big deal, that grand jury should be using there time do a lot of other things, then persecute baseball players to preserve some records that, in the grand scheme of things, or completely meaningless. I mean Babe Ruth never had an asterisk next to the home run record when he owned it, but like Daniel Tosh says, "how many homers would Ruth have hit with Jose throwing a 92 mph slider at his dome?". So, in my eyes, records are just numbers and really mean absolutely nothing. And spending taxpayer money to go after the "steroid problem" in baseball is worthless. Let him enjoy retirement, let him have peace and stop wasting my money on these stupid court cases. But, to get back to the thread, great thing that Barry Bonds did, and I'm glad that the Stow family is having at least a little bit of their burden removed from their shoulders. God bless those kids, God bless Barry, and I hope the good karma gets paid back to him somehow.
  20. He always had wicked stuff, even when he was here. He just couldn't seem to control it. Finally reigned everything in and had some good years. I never wanted us to give up on him. If anything I saw him as a potential closer.
  21. No problem TLB. But, at least it got you to open the link. It was a good article, on a terrible subject.
  22. What's Brian Shouse up to? If Jesse Orosco can pitch till he's 85, Shouse should be fine. He never needed velocity anyways.
  23. http://sports.yahoo.com/m...y-Carter-?urn=mlb-wp7277 I'm not very good with links, but this was on yahoo. Sucks to hear, and hope everything comes out in the end. Always liked this dude.
  24. It's hard to remain a fan. But, part of being a Brewer fan, is hoping for the best every year, but then admitting to yourself that they are just a bad team again. I guess I just get depressed easily. Come on Brewers!!!!
