  1. Technically, it's just the first at-bat, so Weeks should have around 550, and Gomez should have around 450 or so, if he stays the starter. Just saying.
  2. Wow, so does Braun hit one out of the state next? Lots of pressure on him now...love it!
  3. beautiful, he's on my fantasy team. I'm expecting good things this year.
  4. It sounds like resolution isn't the problem but the delay on your tv. My friend had this happen with rock band where the timing was slightly off. I will ask him what he adjusted.Alright, anything you could find out would be cool. I can't think of anything else to try and I'm not going to buy the new one if it's the same.
  5. Question for anyone who has played MLB 10 the show. I have two different TVs that I have played it on. One is a 1080i, and one is a 1080p. There seems to be a problem with playing it on the 1080p as far as timing goes for hitting and pitching. I have to swing incredibly early (like literally a split second after it leaves the pitchers hand), or I am always very late on the ball. Basically I'll hit the button, and the batter will kind of have a pause and chop at the ball. Pretty much have to flip a coin whether or not it's going to be a ball or strike, because it's impossible to react to the ball. And for pitching it is the same thing. I have to hit the button when the cursor is at the top of the arc for it to even come close to being an accurate pitch. If I hit it when it's close to the accuracy marker on the meter it'll release way too late and usually go in the dirt, or way outside or inside. On the 1080i, on the other hand, it would work perfect. I've tried everything I can think of. I've adjusted the pitch speed slider, the contact, the timing, solid hits (this bugs me though, cause I hate adjusting sliders, makes me feel like a cheater), but none of those works. Also, adjusted the display on the PS3 to display in 720p like the game suggests, and 1080i but neither one makes a difference. Anybody else have any similar problems, and if so, any idea if MLB 11 has any of the same problems? Probably not going to spend the cash on the game if I have the same problem, and I really really really don't want to play the 2K game instead. I mean seriously, It's not even comparable.
  6. Mike Fiers is my favorite prospect in the entire organization, so I loved the first comment. But I agree that he probably isn't ready yet. Would assume that Rogers gets the starts if he is healthy enough, otherwise I think Rivas is the next in line.
  7. Reading a really cool book called The Hunting Shack. It's an old book, set in northern Wisconsin woods, near Hurley. It was the authors first book, and he's from Wisconsin and still lives here. Really good so far. It's a murder/thriller but not a mystery, because they don't hide who the killer is. If you like thrillers, check it out.
  8. Just got done with Mass Effect 2, and I'm almost done with New Vegas. Love em both. Dragon Age 2 demo was cool as hell too. But, the game i'm looking forward to most is Uncharted 3. If it's anything like the first two it's gonna rival god of war for the best trilogy ever.
  9. Was a fun game today. Don't worry about Yo too much, he threw 2 curveballs, and the rest fastballs. Struck out Pena and Soriano on nothing but fastballs. Looked like everything was low in the zone. Looked pretty good. Velocity was 91-92, but just looked like he was working on controlling the fastball today. Silva on the other hand, threw the kitchen sink at the Brewers and they kept throwing it back at his head. Couldn't see the Cubs dugout from where I was, but I heard a lot of non family friendly language, so you definitely knew something was going on. And, my favorite prospect, Mike Fiers was on fire again. Dude just pounds the strikezone. Became my favorite prospect after I saw him last spring training, and I really like watching him throw.
  10. When i read this thread, I thought it was an old thread. I thought Sheffield retired like two or three years ago. I know that baseball forgot about him a long time before that.
  11. Great article Too Live. I hadn't read that before now, even though I knew the basic story. It really is no wonder that, with his family, Rickie is so grounded and has always seemed mature beyond his years. I wish the Crew could have signed his brother when they drafted him, but I wish him the best with Oakland. If he has any of Rickie in him, I'm sure he'll be successful no matter what. Really excited about this signing.
  12. Dude, I totally understand your selfishness. I was afraid my Weeks jersey was going to go on the pile with my Sheets, Sexson, Turnbow, and soon Fielder jerseys. I can finally wear the same jersey for more than two seasons.
  13. For disappointing I'm going with McGehee. I agree with warning track, when he says that Casey was playing out of his mind last year. I think he'll be solid/average, but I don't have confidence that he'll put up the same numbers as he did in 2010. For breakout, I'm going with Marcum. I think that getting out of that division and moving to the national league is going to be huge for him. My prediction is that out of our three number 1/2 starters, Marcum finishes highest in Cy Young voting barring injuries.
  14. I think you're right Yoshii. I don't think their pitching staff is much at all, but lineup wise they should be able to put up some runs.
  15. 1 yr/ 8 mil apparently. heard it on the radio this morning. I think it's an all right deal for a team like the Orioles or any team that needs a DH. Dude can still hit and provide pop.
  16. Brewers-Josh Hamilton Bucks-Dirk Packers-Ed Reed (best overall defensive player in the game)
  17. I'm not sure the exact wordage, but the game where Rickie and Prince both hit there first homeruns and after Prince hit his, Sutton said "the first home run for the Prince who will one day be king, and all this will be his." something like that. For some reason, I always liked that one.
  18. Actually looking at it closer, he's listed on there recent transactions as the Brewers signing him to a minor league deal, but on his player profile, he's listed as a brewer, but in the news and notes it says the rays signed him. http://sports.yahoo.com/m...oD1cE6KVDt2CqIhX7R.FCLcF Anyone? I guess I don't really care either way.
  19. Don't know if this has been discussed somewhere, but yahoo shows that the brewers signed Olmedo to a minor league deal. He's a shortstop and he's a switch hitter. Anyone know anything else about him? Stats wise, he seems pretty terrible.
  20. If he's not a lock, then the voters need to get their privileges revoked. Not just because of his on the field performance, but because of the person he is. Any exclusive club should be honored to have a person like Hoffman representing them. It doesn't happen very often that a player plays as long as he did, and I can't remember ever hearing one bad thing said about him from anyone that has played with him or met him.
  21. As soon as I found out this was an ESPeoN poll, I could have told you the top five teams. What I was wondering, was how far back RECENT misery goes. Teams like the Pirates and Royals scored better in the recent categories, even though they have been terrible since most of their fans can remember.
  22. I can relate to that Danzig6767. I don't know if it was the same game (Astros?) but that happened to me too. But i remember one other game that first year, that the Crew was up by three in the bottom of the 8th and had first and third with one out. Hoffman was warming up and I wanna say Kendall was up, but i'm not sure. but anyway, whoever it was, hit into a 4-6-3 and the entire section we were in almost erupted with applause, cause we wanted Hell's Bells.
  23. Perry definitely doctored the ball (as did most likely Don Sutton and several others), but I don't think that's the same as utilizing a substance that increases your strength and muscle mass and improves your bat speed. In my opinion, none of the guys who have admitted and/or tested positive for steroids should even be on the ballot. How can they be when Pete Rose is not?Isn't cheating, cheating, regardless of degree? Doctoring the ball was blatantly illegal, and these guys did it. How is that *more* illegal than using a banned substance? (Something McGwire has never been found GUILTY of?)I disagree. Not all cheating is the same. Doctoring the ball wasn't illegal, it was against the rules. Using steroids is both against the rules and illegal.
  24. Got to agree with this one. Most of the gold glove winners do deserve it, but then again, Jeter won ANOTHER one last year (I think he has like 6,000 now), which takes away almost all credibility of the award.
  25. Good story my man. My favorite memories as a kid were always going to Third World County Stadium with my dad and grandpa, and later with just my dad when Grandpa couldn't make it anymore. They only let me vote once dude, but hope I help ya. ps: looks like you're in first now by 2 percent, good luck.
