  1. Got it. Thanks. Yeah it does seem like there is no point in wasting Lyles' service time and putting wear on his arm
  2. Jordan Lyles says what upIs Lyles really considered that big of a prospect? 3.49 ERA and 1.293 WHIP in his minor league career as compared to Sheets' 2.88 career minor league ERA. Sheets had a 2.40 ERA at the age of 21 in the minors. Of course Lyles is only 20 years old right now and pitching in MLB so I guess I can see the point that he's been rushed but I don't see him as a Sheets type talent
  3. yeah, but again, the Astros & Umpires cheated in that series. Please try to keep up
  4. I'm actually entertaining the thought that Roenicke is a genius and it was wise to rest Hairston for the Cardinals series btw - how awful of a day is it for a pitcher when you walk Craig Counsell?
  5. This Astros team reminds me of the Brewers in the early days of the Ned Yost era. ('cept there is no Ben Sheets type talent to unnecessarily bring up too early and then proceed to wear out his arm in meaningless games)
  6. I was going to write "way to go, you've jinxed it, now we'll only score 10 runs during Greinke's no-hitter"
  7. Thank you Carlos (granted Prince wouldn't have had it either). The Astros showing how bad teams find ways to help the other team score runs (wild pitch, bad run-down, poor defense)
  8. Well obviously the Astros & Umpires cheated. Have you never paid attention to Tony LaRussa?. C'mon now!
  9. Especially when Coshun is subbing for Anderson
  10. Well, I almost agree, I think the dude from Toronto that fixed Jose' Bautista might have him by a tad http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gifGood point! But at least Bautista had a .330 plus OBP in 2006 & 2007. Betancourt has been one of the worst hitters in MLB prior to "Sveum Magic" taking hold
  11. Looks like they'll get the game in at some point. http://www.weather.com/we...ourbyhour/graph/USFL0316
  12. Looking at Betancourt's career stats I know the chances of him keeping this up are very remote, but if somehow he does keep hitting this well then Dale Sveum is the greatest hitting coach of all-time
  13. I don't see why poor Johnny Estrada needs to be brought into this and insulted. I prefer the term "Grandma Slow"
  14. Brad Mills should be fired for pitching to Prince with Kotsay protecting him. Wow. Amazing
  15. Honestly Lucroy should be batting 5th and Greinke should be batting 6th in this lineup
  16. Hairston has a .335 OBP this season and a .714 OPS. Kotsay has a .297 OBP and a .614 OPS, which is unbelievably bad for a corner outfielder. Counsell's OBP this year is .244 (!). Lopez has a .555 OPS and a .254 OBP This is an unbelievably horrible lineup Roenicke has put together today. Our pitcher, Zack Greinke has a better OPS than our RF, 2B & 3B and a better OBP than our RF, 2B, 3B & SS!!!!
  17. Not sure who Jerry Hariston is, but Jerry Hairston, the guy we traded for, is a better hitter than Lopez, Kotsay & Counsell
  18. Sure wish we had traded for a player like Jerry Hairston Jr at the deadline so at least one of Felipe Lopez, Mark Kotsay or Craig Counsell wouldn't be starting on a day like today!
  19. I don't want to find out the difference between "very bad" and "average" in the 9th inning of a playoff game! That is the very possible reality that scares the heck outta me
  20. George of the Roses! He was unhittable when he was on. Nedly had an unltra short leash with him.
  21. Matt Kemp seems like the logical choice right now for NL MVP with Ryan Braun 2nd. They are 1 and 2 in WAR right now.
  22. I was going to reply and say that Escobar seems to have turned the corner and is playing well, but a quick look at his stats show he's got an OBP of .287 and a .619 OPS ... because Escobar has been dazzling in the field and because Yuni B's OBP is .276 I'd still say, though, that Escobar is a better SS than Betancourt (but that ain't sayin much)... It does look like, so far at least, the Brewers did far better on that trade
  23. Welcome, to the Reds fan. A little surprised that you are convinced that the Reds are out of it with this much time left in the season. Granted they are 7.5 games out, but considering the talent level of the Reds it certainly isn't out of the realm of possibilities for them to make a run.
