  1. Oh come on, seriously? $100 million isn't enough so he's got to get $140 million somewhere else? In this economy?
  2. To me its always been about poor range and a terrible OBP. Despite batting .278 in the NLDS, his OBP was still just .316 He's shown alot of heart though, that is something that you cannot teach and is most welcome in the playoffs. I do not want him on the 2012 Brewers. Yuni B is better than McGehee though, I'll give him that I wonder what we would have had to give up for Furcal though. Let us hope thats not the difference in the NLCS
  3. All this melancholy from the media and Prince through the playoffs, , Prince with tears in his eyes, his teammates saying "yeah we realize this could be Prince's last games with us", etc --- I've just got zero sympathy for any of it. Prince has a 5 year $100 million offer on the table from the Brewers, and I wouldn't doubt they might even up the offer...if he loves it in Milwaukee so much, then just sign the contract! As Braun said once upon a time "there's not much you can't buy with $47 million".... I'm a working stiff, he gets no sympathy from me. He loves Milwaukee, his kids love Milwaukee, then sign the contract. Or just shut up and play baseball
  4. Can we all raise a toast to Peter Gammons and his Boston Red Sox now?!!!! Ahhhhhhhhh!!!!
  5. Not to be a downer on such a great night but I don't really get the whole Prince emotional thing about this being possibly his last game as a Brewer. Dude, you have a $100 million contract on the table!!!! If you love Milwaukee that much, just sign the contract. I'm a working stiff, Prince gets zero sympathy from me Or as Braun said once upon a time "there's not much you can't buy with $47 million"... (!)

  7. I'm sure this was already said but I think Gibson made a big mistake in taking out Montero. If the Catcher had stopped that pitch in the 10th, it would have been 1st & 3rd with Braun coming up instead of game over. Plus Blanco's at-bat was not impressive

  9. Ryan Braun, .500 batting average in the series
  10. Yuni looked real focused tonight and through the series. He still had some proto-typical awful Yuni at-bats, but he delievered in the clutch and played solid D
  11. currently tied with Reyes at .330 for the NL Batting title... 6 games left
  12. Please excuse my laziness for not looking this up myself, but how long of a contract do the Brewers have with Nashville? I'm moving to Nashville next year and looking forward to seeing some future Brewers in person...
  13. Its relatively scary that Roenicke will be starting both McGehee & Betancourt in the playoffs and batting them one right after each other, 6 & 7. If Lucroy doesn't find his swing that is going to be one seriously brutal bottom of the order...
  14. He's opened up a .336 to .331 lead in BA over Reyes now ... 9 games left. Let's go Great 8, grab that first batting title and first MVP!!!!
  15. 31 HR's and 103 RBI's now ... currently leading the NL in BA, OPS & SLG.... The Great # 8
  16. If we are looking a probability, with the goal of reaching the World Series, I think the highest probability of the Brewers reaching the WS are in Arizona upsetting the Phillies in a 5 game series and the Brewers beating Arizona in a 7 game series with Home-Field advantage
  17. We want home-field advantage and we want Arizona facing the Phillies. Us having home-field vs an injury riddled Braves team is highly preferable No disrespect intended, but this seems like a no-brainer
  18. Yuni Betancourt. Oh wait, I thought you meant the Brewers down 2 runs, bases loaded who would you least like to see batting for the Crew? I digress... So the question is: who is the "most clutch" batter we could face? Probably Pujols
  19. I not tremendously impressed with a guy who turns down $100 million over 5 years. I mean c'mon now. And I hope Fielder doesn't completely tank in the playoffs like he did in 2008 If it is true that the Brewers might go after Berkman in the off-season, I'm not entirely convinced that we'd be worse off. Berkman is certainly a defensive upgrade over Prince at 1B and a very very good hitter
  20. Unless Braun completely tanks the last 11 games (and being a streaky hitter, his 2 HR's last night indicate he might be about to go on a tear), I think he has the NL MVP Award sewn up. It'll be a slam dunk if he wins the batting title. But even without it, with 30 HR's, 30 SB's and a batting average over .320 (especially if he finishes over .330!) and a team in the playoffs, that is an MVP season right there.... edited the title)
  21. Mark Kotsay has a .660 OPS this year. Casey McGehee has a .649 OPS this year! I would much prefer Mat Gamel, even if his personally was twice as immature as it supposedly is... While Money may be correct about certain aspects of hitting that Gamel needs to improve upon, that doesn't take away from the fact that the Brewers chose to go with far worse options at the MLB level this season....
  22. I think it was a message that Mark A was once again about to snap under the pressure of a playoff race, fire his manager, and replace him with Don Money. Yep, pretty sure about that...
  23. I'm getting tired already of the T Plush phenomenon. Guess I'm too old school for all the shenanigans. But as long as they keep on winning it doesn't bother me too much.
  24. 45 starts is about 35 too many. And he should never start in CF unless in case of an emergency Other than that, this thread is dealing with too small of a sample size for me to think its worth talking about his stats I don't want Kotsay as a Brewer. I fear him in a clutch playoff situation, and I'm thrilled when I'm wrong about him!
  25. Can he play short? Only twice as well as Yuni B. Which still makes him an average MLB SS. But hey its an improvement!
