  1. LaRussa is considering starting Gerald Laird in CF tonight, because he doesn't want to get out-managed...
  2. Is Braun - Kotsay - Hart the worst defensive outfield in MLB playoff history? Seriously I can't think of any that was worse OK, back to praying for rain
  3. With Kotsay scheduled to start, I'm praying for rain, rain and lots of rain. Hopefully this game doesn't ever get played tonight and that gives Ron an extra night to think about what a horrible decision it is to start Kotsay in a playoff game, where defense is so important And I am dead serious about that. I'm hoping for rain
  4. I've defended and supported Roenicke all year. At this point, I got nothin'
  5. Unbelievable. Seriously one of the worst moves I can imagine, starting Mark Kotsay in Center-Field in a playoff game! Wow
  6. Theo will be going after Prince Fielder hardcore
  7. That would be unbelievable, wouldn't it?! Especially with the way Kotsay has looked at the plate in the postseason.
  8. If that was indeed the case, it would be ridiculous. The hand wringing is more about having only 1 starting pitcher out of 4 who has pitched well in the post-season so far. I have faith in Greinke getting it together. I never know what to think about Wolf. I think Marcum is pretty much done for the year. In the words of my 8 year old: "that ain't good..."
  9. I'd much prefer Gomez over Morgan in just about any playoff game. Morgan has hurt us defensively Overall I like Roenicke. Would like to see him have 2 relief pitchers available/warming up at a time and I'm still convinced that Loe should never ever face a lefty except perhaps in Spring Training when he's pitching in scrimmages vs Brewers hitters
  10. Yep, thats it. Hit his forearm. I doubt there's any way to know if it will be a problem until they check it tomorrow and see where he's at... He went directly to the clubhouse, there was at least some minor concern about it
  11. He should complain about the Cardinals manager letting Ryan Theriot hit late in the game. Theriot was brutal today...
  12. I just think it is hilarious that Tony L once again used the word "classy" to criticize a Brewer Last night when Carpenters jersey was ripped in the celebration I thought maybe Tony's head was going to explode. Also, Furcal actually untucked his jersey in the postgame interview... wow (and he wasn't even fined by the Cardinals brass for such a move...) Hold on, Brewers fans, its gonna be a wild ride!
  13. Yuni did make some sure handed and critical defensive plays yesterday, no doubt about it.
  14. Well now, saying I have no sympathy is a long way from hate. Mostly I'm real tired of the melodrama of Prince potentially leaving as being a big part of the backstory of the playoffs. Alot of that is driven by the media and not Prince himself, I understand that. As far as what Teatoe wrote: Choose college or high school sports over MLB? I think not. I love MLB baseball. We, the fans, are what drives MLB, it is our money spent. The advertising dollars generated are because we, the fans, are watching the games on TV. We have a right as fans to complain and boo as we see fit Having said that, I do love Brewerfan.net and I see that not many here can relate to what I'm writing on this topic, so I will chill out And yes, I'm thrilled that we are in the NLCS, absolutely... I promise, nothing but positive posts from me for the next 24 hours... Go Brewers!
  15. If we win the World Series and Prince has a large part in that, then OK, I won't boo him even if he signs with the Cubs... what if he goes 1 for the NLCS and signs with the Cubs though? What if he goes 0 for the World Series, we still win, and he signs with the Cubs or Cardinals? Where do you draw the line? I'm quite sure that Prince won't care if I boo him... though part of me thinks he'll be a little surprised to get booed at Miller Park
  16. I can understand all of that. I guess thats why I am a much bigger fan of players like Braun, Gallardo, Weeks, & Hart than I am of Prince. Players that resigned beyond free agency... I suppose part of what I am trying to convey here (and apparently not doing a very good job of conveying) is that I don't buy that the tears are simply about the win and the teammates etc. I think he's genuinely sad about potentially leaving... so I'm saying: Don't leave, then! He's getting no sympathy on that from me... Perhaps I just need to wrap my mind around the Monopoly Money concept of modern MLB in ways that others here have and I apparently haven't... The grass ain't always greener on the other side, in life, and I'm sure in baseball
  17. OK, well, I was genuinely interested in whether anyone else felt the same way. And it would seem at least initially that no one else does! It can be left alone, sure...If the mods want to delete the thread I have no problem with that.
  18. Not at all. It is that I have no sympathy for him when he talks about how much he loves Milwaukee and then gets wistful. And I'm genuinely wondering if anyone else feels the same way I'm very tired of this subject being a big part of the "backstory" being presented to the fans as part of the playoffs, and I wonder if anyone else feels the same way. Its not like he's being forced out of town. He has an extremely huge offer on the table. Somebody should ask Robin Yount what he thinks about baseball players who turn down $100 million contracts. That is an insanely huge amount of money
  19. I bet there will be plenty of Brewers fans booing Prince if he signs with the Cubs
  20. I predict LaRussa will start complaining about the lights in Miller Park within hours And the benches will clear at least once, but there'll be no punches thrown And at least once in my home we will boo Mark Kotsay for stepping to the plate (or would that be booing Ron Roenicke for sending him there?)
  21. hmmmm, something nice about the Cardinals: Bob Gibson was one of the greatest pitchers of all-time
  22. I respect your opinion, you are one of the many great posters here, but I just don't see it simply as that. I'll think about your point of view here though...
  23. $100 million would set anyone's family up for 10 generations, as well. The point is, if you love it here so much, then sign here. Otherwise just shut up, play baseball and be just another money-bags athlete, but don't play up the sympathy card as you get all misty eyed about this being possibly your last game in Milwaukee I'm saying it is all very sickly distorted and distateful and makes me like Prince a helluva lot less, unless he does end up signing here. You do realize that Braun left a $100 million on the table or so, right? And that he's set up for life? And Berkman likely left money on the table by re-upping with St Louis for next year? Its not like it doesn't happen Prince had better step it up bigtime in the NLCS I'll be one of the ones booing him every time he steps on the field in Miller Park if he signs with the Cubs
