  1. The haiku reference in today's IGT reminded me of the grilled cheese thread and I seem to come up empty when searching for it. Are old threads still out there somewhere?
  2. Can't they DH for any position? It's just common practice to DH for the pitcher. If I am recalling correctly we could have Suter hit and DH for somebody like Arcia.
  3. I looked up Grienke's hitting stats. He is actually hitting 4 for 14 with 2 doubles. Maybe he should take Goldie's spot in the order
  4. I don't remember the last thing I drank that wasn't coffee, water, or beer.
  5. https://nypost.com/2018/05/14/robinson-canos-crushing-injury-reminds-you-of-his-greatness/ Reading this article post PED announcement really makes me chuckle.
  6. I recall two 4 to nothing holes early in the season we overcame.
  7. I just have to say that as someone who took a foul line drive off of his bat once, it should give me karmic satisfaction, but after watching the replay, I can't wish anything like that one anyone.
  8. If I read it right, we are now tied for the most wins in the NL!
  9. I had to look it up because this was bugging me but my first guess was Gomez. He did come close once stealing 2nd and 3rd in one inning. I remember he had a walkoff little leaguer triple steal but that play IIRC had at least 2 errors.
  10. Uglier Second
  11. Who knew that both Aguilar and Thames would be sporting an OPS over 1000 at this point in the season.
  12. Got a link? Here's one: http://gatewayredbirds.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=62215 Need to go around page 20 to see the reactions to the Brewers' HRs. They actually weren't too bad. I think the game ended so quickly they didn't have time to stew about things. Definitely some angst about their bullpen (and manager). My favorite quote and I have to paraphrase was where one poster was accepting a homer coming from Yelich but not Braun.
  13. Maybe that's the point of the joke. Nobody would expect an April Fool's Joke on the day before.
  14. You got to give a Hand to the Brewers for their comeback.
  15. What about the cheese sandwich?
  16. Nah. You don't assign numbers to players, but to zones on the field. But how would you designate which player was in which zone for that play?
  17. As someone who used to score baseball games somewhat religiously, I shudder to think how that would work outside of an informal short hand code for each batter this switch occurs
  18. When the Brewers win a World Series thanks in part to Santana, Phillips, Hader and Houser they could do a 30 for 30 on how that failed Mets trade that would have been horrific turned into this tremendous trade which helped propel them to a championship. Not to derail the topic too much, but these alternate world exercises are interesting to me. On topic, with our seemingly longevity of our core MLB players, that gives the Brewers a relatively long period to evaluate and grow our prospects instead of forcing them to the majors.
  19. And none of it would have happened if the Mets didn't nix the original trade for Gomez. I actually reread the archived thread from the almost Gomez trade, and it's quite hilarious.
  20. Strictly looking at the data, he hits it to center (seemingly more than anybody) but gets out more frequently than the trend. So that would mean alot of flyouts to CF and grounders up the middle? For those that have seen Grisham play, do opposing teams shade up the middle in the infield?
  21. Given how teams pay extra at the deadline, would Stroman actually cost that much less at the deadline versus right now?
  22. With Episode 8 just a few days away, speculation is aplenty on a few things including Rey's parentage. Rey being a Skywalker/Kenobi seems to be the most popular guess but I don't think it's that simple. After rewatching the movies in chronological order over the last couple of months, and seeing all the parallels between Ep 4 and Ep 7, I think we are mislead again. My gut is telling me that Leia and Han aren't Ben Solo's birth parents. Thoughts?
