They would. Penalty on the receiving team results in the option to redo the play. Penalty on the kicking team means no second chances. -

I accidentally snuck into an outdoor concert in Miami. Had never been to the venue and walked through the first entrance I saw and was looking around for where to pay and then was like "I'm in!". That's all I got. That's actually what happened when I "snuck into " Camp Randall. I was looking for a payphone and thought there might be one inside the Fieldhouse. I saw some people going in and out a side door so I went in. Walked around a bit and saw there was a tunnel that led into the stadium. Figured I'd stay to watch the game [sarcasm]Grandpa, tell us what a payphone is. Why didnt you just use your cellphone?[/sarcasm]

That might be a way to get the umpires union to sign off on an automated ball/strike, add extra umpires like in the playoffs for the regular season. -

I would have refused to leave if I was Rizzo. To me that's a reach on the "power" west actually holds. And this is petty and stupid but I would boycott games he umps in. Not me personally, but the team.

It probably goes to letting him land, but it still sucks that decided the game. The second half does give give me some hope going forward at least.

Mlb replay needs some accountability. They need to give us an explanation of their decision, preferably accompanying video of the look they used to make their decision or theat they thought made it too ambiguous to change a call. Even if they just posted it to like twitter much later.

Counsell will sit Sogard next game. His reward to HR hitters.(or is it punishment?) That rule doesn't apply to Sogard... Sogard just bought another 10 straight starts with that dinger. It just bought him 2 more years.

I believe "optimization" has your worst hitter or one of them third because they come up with 2 outs and nobody on the most in average.
