  1. I don't know what the Giants payroll looks like, but if you are the SF Giants how do you not go and get Prince? Your rotation is great, they just don't have any hitting. Adding Prince to that lineup would make them an instant favorite to win the NL Penant ... Especially since they won the World Series without him. Now you add that bat to the lineup. Look out. As far as the Brewers. I really have no clue what they will do. I am a little in favor with A-ram coming to play 1B. (Unless the Cubs go get Fielder, then I am sure A-Ram will want back into Chi to play 3rd.) .... But what is wrong with A-Ram coming to play 1B? Let Gamel, Green, McGehee all fight it out at 3rd. Or trade one of them. But I do not want Green / Gamel being a bench player. I think their value is either starting or being traded.
  2. Top items that need addressing: 1. Upgrade SS - Yuni better be gone - The issue with Yuni wasn't his hitting. He was ok for a SS. IMO, it's his lack of range. He has none. Take a look at this grounder up the middle in Game 6 of the NLCS: http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=19916607 .... 99% of Major League short stops make that play. Yuni is a 10 foot pole away from it. What was he doing? Going to cover 2nd to get the imaginary runner out? This play is a microcosm of my issue with him. 2-4. 3B / 1B / RF conundrum - We have Corey Hart, Mat Gamel, Taylor Green, and Casey McGehee - I don't know how this shakes out, but hopefully we get it right. I am all for one position going to Gamel / Green, but to think Melvin is going to insert two rookies into his lineup is semi-ludicrous. I sort of expect Melvin to leave Hart in right, let McGehee and Green battle in spring, and bring in a 1B to at a minimum platoon with Gamel. (This isn't what I want, just what I expect out of Melvin) 5. 7th and 8th inning setup guys. We are losing K-Rod, Saito, and Hawkins. Granted the later 2 could be resigned but I would only do 1 year deals. 6. Bench guys - Kotsay - Gone, Counsell - Gone, Wilson - Gone, JHJ - please come back ... So we need to find 3 new ones. Gomez & Kottaras will be back.
  3. We have a lot of threads for all the different moves the Brewers could make. So I figured lets just have everyone take a stab at what they do. So if you were GM what would your starting positional lineup be for opening day 2012: 1. Reyes - Granted if he gets a Worth type deal, cross him off my list. He is the type of bat we need ... give me Reyes and Morgan at the top of that lineup and those are 2 hard outs. I want people on base for our run producers and not HR guys who hit solo shots because we have no one on base. 2. Morgan - Gomez bats 7/8th when in, and Hart jumps to 2. 3. Braun - Pujols hits 3rd. Just because Braun is our best player doesn't mean he hits 4th. 4. Weeks 5. Green - 3rd Base (Jerry platoon) 6. Hart - RF - he doesn't like batting 5th and I am sure they would break up the lefty bats. 7. Gamel - 1B - I would try and talk a Derek Lee into an open compitition on a 1 yr deal. But I bet he still wants to be a starter. 8. Lucroy Green / Gamel can fight it out for 5th. Whoever is hotter gets it. I wish we could have the money for Prince, Reyes, Greinke, and yes Marcum too ... but lets be real, we are not the Yankees. So unfortunately I think we have to let the big fella leave. Just can't afford him. I will be sad to see him leave as he will always be one of my favorite Brewers.
  4. I am on board for Reyes if they money isn't crazy. If it is, Barmes would be my 2nd choice. I just hope I don't hear "Yuni B" has been re-upped by the Brewers. I understand he didn't have the "down" year everyone on this board thought he was going to have (And hit great in the playoffs) but he fits the mold of too many players we already have. (Not great D, low average, decent slugging) ... And his first pitch swingin! attitude I just don't think I could bear for another year.
  5. Was this supposed to be in blue? I want nothing of Loe today
  6. James p sullivan from monsters inc... the beast ... Threw it out
  7. I agree and this game isn't over. I have seen the brewers put em up in bunches before
  8. Way to start it ZG ... now let's go weeks .... Get something started
  9. Perfect http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif http://cdn3.staztic.com/screenshots/101-espn-210-1.jpg
  10. Number 20 in this book states "Mark Kotsay Should Not Start Center Field" ... Maybe we should get RR a copy http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif ... J/K - Had to take one last shot when I am in a good mood after a huge win today. http://www.the-money-cafe.com/images/Cover_101_Really_Important_Things_You_Already_Know_But_Keep_Forgetting.JPG
  11. We could try and go in the other direction as we already did 6 through 0. so lets take our 96 wins + 3 NLDS wins, + 2 NLCS wins, and count up 6 more. I am not sure what kind of posts we will get with 101 (today's win), 102 (tomorrow's win) and then 103 (Sunday's win http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif .... but I am sure those numbers have meaning somewhere ... We need 107 Wins this year to reach the ultimate goal. 107 sounds like a good number to me. I will start it (or just ignore it and continue counting down http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif http://members.home.nl/bertystam/adrie/screenshots/classic6.jpg
  12. In all honesty it would be hard to not pitch Wolf if there is a game 7. He would be on 3 days rest but after today's game and his very solid career numbers vs the cards, I dunno. I just cannot imagine tossing Marcum back out there, especially in a game 7. Greinke has game 5. I match Yo vs Carp once again for game 6. Then Wolf if needed for game 7.
  13. I went to a Randy Wolf game in April, he got rocked and I said I never want to attend another game of his again. He went on to have a solid ERA and be a major contributer to this team this year. And TOTALLY earned his contract with that win and just his play this year.
  14. lol - right? Gomez has done well this postseason ... Whoever is starting all I know is that Braun and Fielder better do better than their 1 for 6 from yesterday. So this is what we are going to go with? Ahg! Whichever. No more complaining from me. This is what we got, SO this is what we got! GO BREWERS! ... LETS PULL OUT A W!!!!!! COME ON BOYS!!!
  15. Awesome! Jobu, I good to you. I stick up for you. If you no help me now ... I say F* you Jobu! I do it myself!
  16. So weeks - 1, hart -2/5 and mcgehee -5/6? ... Just saying we have had like 4 different regular lineups this year. I couldn't even tell you who had the most AB's at each spot in the order

  19. Hart is in a huge slump right now ... and it takes him a while to get out of these. When he aint right, he aint right. He might not get a hit for the rest of the series. I think I would go: 1. Morgan - RF (Not that he is doing better then Hart but at this point I think you just play the platoon) 2. Jerry 3. Braun 4. Fielder 5. Weeks 6. Yuni 7. Gomez - CF 8. Lucroy
