  1. I think one was Cutter Dykstra - who turned into Nyjer Morgan. Not 100% sure, but I think this was the case. not sure who the other pick was.Well if that is the case, I guess I would tangentially call the Linebrink (Morgan) for Thatcher/Inman/Garrison as a net win.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif1. The Brewers lost Cordero and Linebrink after the 2007 season and received selections 35 (Evan Frederickson) and 54 (Cutter Dykstra) for losing Linebrink. 2. Cordero netted us selections 32 (Jacob Odorizzi) and 53 (Seth Lintz) ... So all in all losing Cordero and Linebrink netted us Nyjer Morgan and the first installment on the Greinke trade. (No clue where Frederickson or Lintz are as I don't see them on the power 50 and I don't follow minor league ball a whole lot outside of top prospects.) Also in the 2008 draft we took a risk on drafting Brett Lawrie, the highest a Canadian player has ever been selected. Which in part you could say Doug took the gamble on as we held picks 32, 35, 53 and 54 (the first 3 of those picks were spent on pitching) ... if we didn't have those extra compensatory selections, Doug may not have taken a gamble on a positional player. So in effect losing Cordero and Linebrink may have helped us get Marcum. For those who are wondering losing CC and Shouse netted us: 1. Sabathia - Kentrail Davis (#16 on the Power 50) and Max Walla (#30 on the P50) 2. Brian Shouse - Kyle Heckathorn (#6 on the P50)
  2. Just turned on Fox channel 6 in Milwaukee and Tom Pippens just said the Diamondbacks are losing to the "Red hot" Rockies. Psssst, Tom, the Rockies are 3-7 in their last 10
  3. Wow ... what a play by Furcal. He didn't get the out, but that was a great play. Nicely done Corey.
  4. I find it amusing that when our magic number is 16, number 16 goes and hits for the cycle
  5. It's Oktoberfest down in Cincy when the crew is in town. http://www.oktoberfestzinzinnati.com/ I will be at the Saturday game ... definitely going to the Hofbrahaus. The Brewers should have the racing sausages attend the "running of the weiners" on Friday the 16th at noon. We have not got tickets yet but there are still some available on reds.com. Any advice for those who have been there. (Definitely looking for good seats)
  6. The 16 oz ... tastes so good http://www.glibeer.com/images/products/84/old_milwaukee_light_16oz__large.jpg

  9. Cards lose .... Lts go Ax!!! Get that magic # to 16!!!!
  10. We have made outs on 3-1 and 3-0 pitches with pitchers having complete trouble finding the zone. Nice guys. Let's go Yuni
  11. *Small Sample Alert* But in the past 30 days here are some lines AB / AVG / OBP / SLG JHJ - 71 / .324 / .377 / .394 Yuni - 108 / .231 / .243 /.361 Casey - 93 / .258 / .333 / .516 Wilson - 21 / .143 / .217 / .143 Green - 1 / 1.000 / 1.000 / 1.000 - http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I don't see why Yuni has entered Braun / Fielder territory where he is an automatic start - without question. One would think JHJ and even Green would be able to find a few more starts why Weeks is out. What is wrong with JHJ at SS and Green at 2B? Why not just give it a try?
  12. Sorry if this was posted somewhere else and I just missed it. But when are the Brewers going to bring up their "first baseman of the future"? One would think that a guy who could be competing for every day playing time next March would be worthy enough of a September call up. He is on the 40 man, IMO would provide value (not saying Roenecke would use him) but what's the deal Doug?
  13. They said that he is Braun's neighbor in Cali. Well that explains it - thanks
  14. And Reggie Miller is at the Brewers game with a brewers shirt on? Didn't know he liked Milwaukee
  15. So we don't get an out on Molina then we miss a golden double play opportunity ... Nice D fellas ... And now a grand slam for the pitcher
  16. I wish I'd known...we sat two rows behind your group. You had a Greinke jersey on? I did not take a photo of the junior announcer appearance, but I think I might have a photo of your kids. I'll send you a PM about it. Anyway, she did a fine job, and the S.O. and I did applaud her upon her return (though I don't think any of you noticed). That row 6 of 217 is usually where the junior announcer party is seated, so we often see the announcer "up close." Oh, boy, I had a baaaad feeling about the top of the 9th. . Thanks for the cheers. Ya a lot of people were congratulating her when we got back. Thanks for doing that, she was really excited. And yep that was me I'm the greinke jersey. We got lots of photos of her and I even video taped her doing it.
  17. Very clear on TBS. Had to be an exciting time. Ya it was great and kameron Loe threw her a ball. Thanks for the reply
  18. My daughter was the junior announcer anyone able to hear her on TBS, FSN, or 620 WTMJ?
  19. This is great news!! Welcome to the club Taylor!!
  20. The ranking (high to low), money they spend, and my comments about where they are currently ranked for making playoffs. Per usual - spending money doesn't guarantee you to win a World Series but it greatly increases your probability on making the playoffs. As 8 of the top 15 teams are either in the playoffs (6 teams) or very close (2 teams are two games back). Where as the bottom 15 teams in terms of spending, 5 are in last place in their division.
