Here is a thought: Take a number say $100 million and set it as the bar. If you are 10 million over that number, you forfeit your first round pick. If you are 20 over, you forfeit your first and second round pick, 30 over, first 3 rounds, etc. That would let them "buy" whoever they want, but the small market teams would be able to draft their team.

Lets go Crew!! We need a big win today. And let's go Atlanta and San Diego!! Glad to see Weeks in the lineup ... I like the lineup. (Wish they would try JHJ over Yuni. Even if Weeks couldn't go the whole game, then switch JHJ to 2B and insert Yuni)

They have lost 4 of 12. Those 3 pitchers only account for 3 of those games. and against 1 of those great pitchers,(today) they had plenty of opportunities. In 3 innings of relief pitching they failed to score with a guy on 2nd and only 1 out twice.

My frustration with Ron is: He says "we don't need a lefty reliever because k-rod and ax wouldn't be pulled in favor of a loogy so why have one?" However he completely contradicts that when he doesn't start plush, green, or jhj because of the lefty/righty matchup. If it is true that a good pitcher will get a hitter out regardless of what side of the plate he is on; then it should work on the flip side and a good hitter shouldn't be "benched" in favor of a split. Additionally he contradicts himself even further by always playing the split (except in some spots like today's game) when Braun doubles, IBB walk to prince and then lets mcgehee and yuni both bat vs a RHP, with plush and green watching from the dugout. I just don't get it. When will he just play our best players? Remember Sept 15, 2008. Yost blew 4 games to the phills and was canned. If Ron goes 4-9 with a final 4 game sweep (AGAIN!!!) at the hands of the phills, does he deserve the same fate?

Pitching definitely costs a lot ... the Red Sox traded Hanley Ramirez for Josh Beckett. Would the Sox like to have Hanley in their lineup for the last 5 years. I'm sure they would. But you have to give to get. (Especially when you are the Brewers and you are horrible at drafting pitching)
