  1. Ya, the fact that it is New Era makes me think it's a minor league team and not local/high school/college.
  2. Would reducing the number of options go far enough to accomplish that? Reducing the number of options would keep guys in the minors longer.
  3. It also raises the price for every other FA agent pitcher and resigning our own guys.
  4. I found this hat a few months ago and I've been trying to identify the logo ever since. I've scoured the SportLogos.net website and haven't found it. I've contacted them a few times and never got a response. The style is very similar to the Cubs and my best guess is it's the former Midland Cubs but I can't find any images of this logo for them. I DM'd the now Midland RockHounds on Twitter about it and never got a response either. The hat is New Era, early 90's I'm guessing by the tag. Anyone have any clue who this is? 5. Slightly off topic but is anyone but the media pushing the collusion narrative?
  6. I don't remember which game it was but that happened and the announcer (Romo or Collinsworth i think) said WR's are taught when a ball is under thrown to run back to it to run into the DB to get a PI call and I remember thinking how stupid that rule is.
  7. Crap, was gonna watch Raw tonight. Do they have replays anywhere? I know a few years ago that had very condensed episodes available but I'd like to see the whole thing.
  8. That actually sounds like a story Uecker would tell. A lot of people seem to think Dillard should in the booth (TV or radio). I felt that way too until I started following him on Twitter and Facebook. I don't think he would be very good in a role where he's on the air all the time. I think he would be great as a pop-in reporter or whatever you call what Sofia does. Have him run around the ballpark and talk to people, maybe do some pre-taped skits, just be a goofball a few times a game. I think he would get old pretty fast if he was on the air 3 hours every night.
  9. Honestly, sports discussion has pretty much become political discussion. "Whatever supports my opinion is what I believe." All I heard this year was how the refs are working for the Patriots because the NFL wants them in the Super Bowl. Apparently forgetting Spygate, deflategate, the taping the Giants Super Bowl practices-gate, and everything else the NFL has done to try and stop New England. It's rather obnoxious.
  10. I did this with my fantasy football team this year. All the trades happened. However my QB's still sucked and I had to roll with Tyrod Taylor and Blake Bortles down the stretch and playoffs so it didn't help in the end.
  11. If it's true there are dominoes involved and it's a one time deal, I won't get my hopes up for anything to happen. We're the Brewers, we're destined for disappointment. We get it. You're ready to be disappointed. The Brewers always disappoint you. How many times are you going to post that? As often as I want.
  12. If it's true there are dominoes involved and it's a one time deal, I won't get my hopes up for anything to happen. We're the Brewers, we're destined for disappointment. Do you not trust Stearns knows what he's doing or something? Has nothing to do with Stearns and everything to do with the winds of fate. How often do we get our hopes up about something only to have them crushed as Brewer fans? This sounds like there's a lot of moving pieces with multiple teams and players all having to fall in the right place. I would not be surprised if by Friday the reports are all of this is off the table and nothing is happening.

  14. That’s what signing Ji-Man Choi was for. I think they would trade Thames, and possibly Aguilar, and bring up Choi to back up Abreu. Stearns would replenish the farm system from the Abreu trade by trading Aguilar and Thames. Trading Thames and Aguilar will not bring back anything close to what it would take to get Abreau.
  15. A trade for Abreu would probably include Aguilar as he no longer has any place on the team since both are RHB and the White Sox would probably take a cheap, young 1B back. Thames has more defensive versatility than Aguilar, not that much more though really, and would be a nice LHB off the bench.
  16. Clear payroll to sign Darvish and then Harper, Machado, or Kershaw next year. Or all of them.
  17. He seemed like kind of a diva in Japan. I believe he posed naked for a magazine, and not the the ESPN body issue kind of naked.
  18. I thought about this too. I think I'd rather have some pitchers personally. Torres solves the immediate 2B issue and allows flexibility with the others in the minors to move to a different position or trade.
  19. Go home guys, significant acquisition has been made. The Brewers didn't sign him.
  20. If the Yankees want to dump Ellsbury, I'll take the whole contract, Torres, and another lesser pitching prospect. The Yanks can have Broxton or Ray.
  21. Reed wanted to sign in the midwest because his wife is from Akron. Cleveland is really the only place close to Akron. Pittsburgh, Detroit, and Cincinnati aren't that far. Minneapolis is a 12 hour drive away. I never understand when a player says he wants to sign somewhere because it's close to home when it's no where close to home. If your house isn't a reasonable drive from your home ballpark what difference does it make if you're 500 or 1500 miles from home.
  22. I love Bob Uecker (who doesn't?), but I have been told by one person in the Wisconsin radio industry who said that it basically takes a special kind of personality to work with Uecker. Could explain why a lot of these guys aren't sticking around long term. My uncle worked in radio for a few years and got to visit with Uekcer in the booth in the early or mid-90's. Said he was not a pleasure to be around. Obviously only one person's experience.
  23. The Cubs are not any more vulnerable than they were last year. I really hope Stearns isn't making moves because of the Cubs and instead making moves that are best for the organization regardless of any other team.
  24. After initially reported it took a month to finalize a LOOGY signing. This major trade may take till the all star break.
  25. That offer doesn't seem unreasonable for any team, very well thought out for a 3 team trade. Is that your speculation? Seems light for the Orioles and very heavy towards the Brewers. I know it's only 1 year of Machado but he's a top 3 MLB player. However, the Orioles are idiots and have very little clue as to what they are doing.
