  1. So what happened to that nasty 2 seamer that Diaz was throwing earlier this season? None of his pitches look special tonight.
  2. Exactly why I tell my high school kids to not bother with pick offs to 2B. Too many moving parts. You're more likely to throw it to CF then you are to get a guy out.
  3. I make a point to never listen/watch sports talk. While hitting up some rummage sales this morning I had TMJ on and they were going to do a segment about the Brewers. I was going to change the station to avoid the utter stupidity that was to come from the callers, but we just got to a sale so we got out of the car and didn't. When I get back in I hear the caller blathering about how bad the starting pitchers are (not saying their names correctly either) and that Garza is the worst and needs to go. The host agreed Garza is terrible and is holding the team back. Sure Garza has stuck before but he's been serviceable this year. The host also went on to say that the team should make a move for a starting pitcher but shouldn't give up much to get one. And then said Sonny Gray is the perfect guy they should go after, because apparently he'll cost peanuts. Turned it off as soon as I heard the Sonny Gray comment.
  4. Straight up for Peralta in a dual change-of-scenery trade. How about Feliz? Jeffress has had plenty of success here, Feliz plenty of success in Texas... I've seen conflicting reports that Feliz was DFAed or released, which is kind of bad journalism if he indeed hasn't been released yet, which I don't know why he would have been. Big difference between DFA and release . I'd imagine many "journalists" don't know what DFA means. As for Peralta, why exactly would anyone want to trade for him? He throws kind of hard but is nothing special for today's game and can't throw anything for a strike. His only "good" year wasn't even that good. Especially for Jeffress, a guy who was dominant for 2.5 years and has two plus pitches. I understand he's struggling but I wouldn't just give him to another team for their crap.
  5. They took 3 of 4? Feels like this is the only game they won in the series. This is such an emotionally draining team.
  6. Way too much unnecessary movement out of the wind up. You can do all that herky jerky crap if you can consistently throw strikes but he can't. Which leads to his release point being all over the place.
  7. First time I've seen Hader pitch before. Those mechanics, yeesh. It's like his body has no idea what it's doing.
  8. Neshek has been pretty dominant this year and other times in his career. Even though he's a free agent I don't think he can be had without a team's top 10 prospect. He's 36 and The Phillies are going nowhere, a top 20 prospect in our organization is pretty good. If Neshek was a Brewer I would be pretty disappointed in only a 10-20 prospect for a return.
  9. Brewers and Cubs seem pretty similar this year: decent offense and suspect pitching. I don't care if they're the defending whatever of anything, 2016 has come and gone. If Stearns can find a reliever or two that doesn't blow chunks, this is somehow Milwaukee's division to lose. Which they probably will and to the Cardinals.
  10. Neshek has been pretty dominant this year and other times in his career. Even though he's a free agent I don't think he can be had without a team's top 10 prospect.
  11. Giving up anything of substantial value for relief pitching would be stupid. It's not even like we need to get elite relievers to improve the bullpen. Anyone who can pitch an inning without giving up a run is an improvement at this point.
  12. Honestly, what do you expect? He's a Brewers announcer. Do you think he should call Sedar out for being a crappy 3B coach? These guys get to know each other very well over the years. This type of thing should come to no ones surprise. He doesn't have to say anything at all. This is probably my biggest gripe about BA. When he has nothing to say he starts saying crap to talk up players (Brewers or opponent) most of which usually isn't true. Like in the beginning of the game he was talking about Feliz being DFA'd and talked about how he's a good pitcher and he'll go somewhere else and help another team. Maybe, but not if you watched him pitch at all the last few months. He didn't need to say any of that. All he had to say was that Feliz struggled and the Brewers wanted to make a change, not talk up a crappy player who played crappy.
  13. BA please shut up about how good Sedar is at his job. He's not good at all.
  14. He looks like any dad in a comedy movie. So basically Paul Rudd. I don't get that at all. To me he just looks like a guy who's looking for things to be angry about.
  15. Mike Matheny is a guy who looks like he needs to be punched in the face.
  16. Fans don't vote for pitchers so that won't make a difference for Knebel. And Shaw was a Red Sox last year and made some noise to start the season so he has notoriety.
  17. Unless he implodes it's got to be Knebel. We've got some guys having good seasons in Shaw and Thames but they're playing at stacked positions. Maybe Anderson makes it if a lot of guys pitch on Sunday and aren't eligible.
  18. I guess since it's a doubleheader everyone's going to start a game but what is this need to start Franklin so often?
  19. Any Cardinals fan that complains about their ownership and management can eat it.
  20. Considering the offense has been the least of our issues this year, there's no reason to be concerned.
