  1. Is he though? He got picked off twice in one game last week.
  2. Overreacting much? Lineups can be fluid, especially when regulars are out. Sogard is extremely hot and has already paid dividends for CC and helped win ball games. Sometimes you ride that out. Baseball managing isn't always done by checking out the back of these guys baseball cards. Is Broxton not a hot hand? 1.000 OPS this month seems hot to me. His career OPS leading off is .919 and .899 when he hits 2nd so I think he's "comfortable" hitting in those spots.
  3. Batting Broxton 7th in the current lineup is inexcusable. Batting Sogard and his career sub .300 OBP leadoff is beyond inexcusable.
  4. My exact thinking when I saw the lineup. And Sogard has probably guaranteed himself 3 or 4 starts a week for the rest of the season.
  5. Never heard of this guy before and was pretty surprised how I could have missed a Brewer pitching prospect. Looked him up to see he's a 30 year old who's never made the majors. I understand so was Guerra and Espino's minor league numbers look decent but I'm guessing he's just another part of the revolving door bullpen this year.
  6. Our varsity team got screwed out of a regional first round bye by a vindictive opposing coach who voted our team way down out of spite best I can tell. Had he voted a legitimate vote we would have had the 1 seed but we dropped to 3 because of it.
  7. I don't think Wily would do well in relief because he would be gassed by the time he made it to the mound from the pen.
  8. Because the pitchers aren't that good. There's really nothing more to look into. Davies and Anderson have their moments but ultimately they're back of the rotation guys. I think we can stop waiting for Wily to break out or whatever because he is what he is and that's nothing special - walks guys and then grooves them down the middle. Nelson has the stuff to be above average but looks more like back of the rotation to middle on a good day. And Garza has been our ace so far, that says it all.
  9. How many starts is he getting?
  10. The hardware store I worked at just had you fill out a form to get "Do Not Duplicate" keys made and it was only to protect the store from liability. Shouldn't be a problem getting them made.
  11. Agree with this. I "volunteered" a few times in college. I've worked in a few different food service jobs and could not believe how unclean and mismanaged these stands were. Our stand manager gave us about 30 seconds of instructions and then ran down the long list of things they would dock our organization money for. Five of us put in 4 hours of work to make about $300. When you included the two hour winter orientation, which is basically just informing you how not to over serve people, it's really a waste of time. The only thing that made it worth it was walking out of the stadium with a few San Francisco Giants since you use the same entrance as the visiting team.
  12. Any buying Stearnes does I think will be buying tickets from Coloradp Springs to Milwaukee. Our MLB pitching is crap. Any improvements to have a chance in the playoffs will have to be major and cost players we shouldn't be giving up. Woodruff and Hader are going to be the major deadline acquisitions if we're still in contention come end of July.
  13. Ya, last year I would buy 3 or 4 bags every other week from Menards. It took until the 3rd time to realize I got a different brand each time even though I was getting it from the same pile. Different colors and different consistency. Some was more wood chips and others were more finely ground. This spring it all looks the same. It fades so quickly the different shades really doesn't make a difference.
  14. Hold it right there. You gave up the remote?? Nobody told you, NEVER concede control of the remote!!?! I didn't give it up. It was taken from me.
  15. I used to watch every game I was home for until I got married. Then I lost 99% of control of the TV. Then Fox Sports Go came around and I probably watch about half of the games on my phone or laptop. I usually wait until the 5th or 6th inning to see how they're doing before I decide to watch or not.
  16. I read these both as questions at first and was really confused.
  17. Because he exactly fits the profile of starter turns into RP. Walks don't hurt as much as a RP, you can throw even harder and fastball+slider is a viable combo. Peralta screams bullpen guy with every single skill he shows. I don't know about closer since he can't get out lefties, but he would be so much better in the pen than as a starter. Guys with 2 pitches just don't do well as starters. OPS by time through lineup .725, .754, .818. OPS at 75+ pitches is .871. He doesn't have the stamina or arsenal to be a starter. Walks don't hurt as much as a RP? Have you seen what happens when our bullpen walks guys?
  18. Whoever got brought up was almost certain to ride the bench until Braun came back so Sogard is as good as anyone else to do that.
  19. Never understood the Wily to the pen desire. He can't throw strikes. He'd go out and do the exact thing everyone is already complaining about.
  20. I thought someone said there's only 38 on the 40 right now.
  21. It will be Captain Kirk. Thames and Perez will get the majority of the time in left with Aguilar at 1B.
  22. The septuagenarian Miller Park ushers who act as the Gestapo when you're going back to your seat after using the bathroom but do nothing about the annoying, vulgar drunks sitting around you.
  23. Unfortunately I think it all hinges on Braun. If he's traded that opens up a spot and dominoes will fall into place. However, I think he's stuck here the rest of his career and his fragile body and above average bat will push one of those guys into a part time shared role and leave the rest in limbo.
  24. I would have thought so too, but this is the rule: http://m.mlb.com/glossary/rules/balk I guess Rock was correct. Maybe high school rules are different but I know I've seen batters hit the ball after a balk is called and the umpire bring him back to the plate.
  25. Holy crap. Infield in and the runner at 3rd isn't out at the plate by 20 feet!?
