  1. I don't know if he was dogging it but I can't believe it wasn't even close at first.
  2. I hate the Cardinals so much. Every freaking player and person involved with that organization is dead to me. If they offered me a contract to play for them I would tell them to shove it. I don't care if they are a "model organization" for success. I hate them.
  3. They have had juicers in their recent history as well. They have one currently playing 3B. But that's different because, you know, he's a Cardinal and stuff.
  4. They're too busy patting themselves on the back for being the greatest fans in the world.
  5. Does this involve independent leagues too? I'm sure the time commitment isn't as much as affiliated minor leaguers but I'm sure they are still making less than minimum wage when figured on an hourly basis.
  6. I hate the Cardinals and I want to see Molina and Holiday plunked every time they are up. That is all.
  7. Just because one team makes a stupid deal it doesn't mean that trade sets the market for everyone else. If that were true Dave Stewart would have ruined it for everyone.
  8. Dembroski has yet to meet a prospect he didn't want to trade. In Detroit and in his first few months in Boston he's shown that he has no problem trading prospects. I see lots of posters saying that Boston will never go up so and so but with the new regime, being in contention, and the way some of their recent prospects have flopped I think everyone is in play.
  9. There are a ton that should be available: For 3B: The big one is Danny Valencia from the A's. After that there is Freese from the Pirates Then the Twins could move Nunez, the Marlins are still in it but they may still trade Pardo (being the Marlins and all), Beckham from the Braves perhaps. For 2B: The Twins should shop Dozier, Lawrie could be traded yet again, the Rockies could shop LeMaihu, the Padres could (and should) shop Solarte. Forgot about Valencia, he's better than Hill but not a 2B. Nunez, Prado, and especially Beckham are not better than Hill. I see no reason for the Twins to trade Dozier unless they get blown away and the White Sox, Rockies, and Padres are three of the most clueless organizations in baseball about what they should be doing. I'll give you Valencia as a better option than Hill at 3B but Danny's the top 2B available.
  10. There are a lot of clubs needing a 2B or 3B right now. What other 2B or 3B are currently available? I can't think of any off the top of my head. He'll bring back something of value.
  11. Not to continue to throw things on Ed but he has not changed in the however many years he's been here. Hey, maybe he's a great coach at whatever else it is he does but 3rd base is not where he belongs. Why was he moved from 1B to 3B again? Ron did that for some reason. Probably because he's an idiot.
  12. Not to continue to throw things on Ed but he has not changed in the however many years he's been here. Hey, maybe he's a great coach at whatever else it is he does but 3rd base is not where he belongs.
  13. Well that's Brewer baseball for you. Snatching defeat from the jaws of game tying for years.
  14. I said it last time Urias faced us. For one of the top pitching prospects in baseball his stuff isn't that impressive. Yes, he's getting outs but a low 90's fastball and a curve that's a strike 50% of the time isn't what you think of when you think young, dominating pitcher. Changeup looks good though.
  15. Exactly the reasons I don't enjoy going to Brewer games anymore. I miss the days where there would be 20 people in an entire section and you would all sit no where near each other.
  16. I thought those types of people only existed on TV. I can honestly say I've never split a bill with anyone ever. Even in situations where we get one check we still pay only for what we ordered.
  17. Ya, this isn't luck in terms of stats but luck in terms of bad things beyond your control. If Ben Sheets doesn't turn into glass by the end of his career the Brewers possibly ride him and CC to at least an NLCS, if Mat Gamel doesn't have back to back freak knee injuries the Brewers aren't constantly looking for a 3B or 1B (same with Corey Hart), top prospect Angel Salome has anxiety and retires, Ryan Braun has Hall of Fame talent and puts up Hall of Fame numbers but a random thumb injury makes him more human, Weeks and Jenkins are great players but constantly get hurt by playing hard or through no fault of their own. Obviously having depth makes those things hurt less but you can't deny that Milwaukee hasn't had the greatest luck.
  18. It's probably because this is a pointless season that he stayed in. Nelson is the de facto ace going into next year. Why not see if the guy can get out the best hitters in baseball when he needs to.
  19. I do not think I could care less about the Olympics. Especially sports where the winner is determined by judges. My wife has made me watch the diving and gymnastic trials the last two nights and all I see are people doing the same flips and twirls as everybody else but someone apparently does it better and every single person there knows who it is. I can appreciate the athleticism, agility, and hard work from these athletes but I just don't care. Also, the massive amounts of makeup that all the female gymnasts are wearing is ridiculous. They all look like Barbie dolls who've had facelifts.
  20. At the A ball level does winning really have that big of an effect on attendance? I would guess the biggest draw is who the parent team is. I don't think the T-Rats have won a whole lot since they became a Brewer affiliate but attendance has been great. I would guess the Yankees and Red Sox would be the biggest draw in Florida followed by the Marlins and Rays and then everyone else is pretty much equal.
  21. I don't know how you can call a guy low character based off of one issue and one that quite possibly had something to do with his medication. The whole thing stinks for the Brewers though and pretty much sums up the overall luck this franchise has had.
  22. You answered your own question. You say he's not going to be a sub 3 ERA guy and that's exactly what he's been the last 6 weeks. His numbers will come back to reality eventually. The good news (and I thought I was clear about this) is that reality is still really good. I agree with you but we really have no idea what Zach's "reality" is. He hasn't even pitched the equivalent of a full season yet.
  23. That's pretty much what happened. The question is why the Brewers just flat out released him instead of putting him on the restricted list or suspended him since he just abandoned his team and the organization.
