  1. Stop paying attention to the news. I did that awhile ago and my outlook has improved. There's nothing you can do about 99.9% of the crap that goes on in the world anyway.
  2. I'm actually going to miss Hill. After his disastrous start he was doing pretty well with a .890 OPS since the start of May.
  3. I don't side with Boras in very many instances but I do in this case. How many other teams have done this with one of their starters over the last 10 years? Has it happened one time? It's bush league by the Brewers. You pay Cappy 1 mil+ and your concerned about $24,000...yea yea it's about the extra bat not the money...the extra bat is hitting .238 at Colorado Springs, not very good for a hitters ballpark, should of brought up Manny Pina and pulled Wilkins off 40 man...plus they knew they were going to move Hill. They should of brought Wilkins in after trade and left Davies on roster. He can pinch run better than Wilkins anyway. It has absolutely nothing to do with money and everything to do with getting an extra bench player and getting Davies a regular start that he would miss on the big league team. And it has happened, often. While not common it's not usual for guys to be sent down around the all star break to keep getting playing time. The only thing I will give Boras credit for is speaking up for someone who is really a nobody among his clientele. Although he probably had some intern or low level assistant inform him of it happening.
  4. Maybe it was great planning on their part or maybe it's just luck. I don't know which one it is but I'll give them a draft or two more before I form an opinion.
  5. Many hated Braun before his scandal. The scandal just gave people a "real" reason to hate him instead of "he's really good at baseball and looks cocky."
  6. Lots of people want the team to lose.
  7. That's the kind of conspiracy thinking I like to see. I doubt there is any truth to it but what the hell else would Stearns be doing in Oklahoma City?
  8. Middlebrooks had a July 1 opt out. I'm sure they didn't want to risk losing him by waiting 4 more days.
  9. When I saw this I was ready to riot, but it makes sense with the schedule. Also, Wilkins is a 1B. Not sure how this has anything to do with the outfield.
  10. Rasmus was dealt because he didn't adhere to the Cardinal Way.
  11. Does Braun deserve to be in the All Star game? Probably. Is it in his and the team's best interest for him to be there? No. He just needs to do nothing for 4 days and continue raking in the second half so someone ponies up the goods for him.
  12. If true that a soldier took Zack instead of his girlfriend, what's the big deal other than everyone hates this guy? What's the difference if a soldier takes Zack, or his girlfriend, or his mom, or some hobo off the street. If people are going to make a big deal about Zack not being military then the same deal should be made about anyone else.
  13. If the home team is wearing their color then isn't the visiting team supposed to wear gray? I suppose the rules are relaxed for these special days but the Brewers wore gray for Mother's and Father's Day.
  14. Johnny Hellweg got released again. Some posters here loved his velocity and movement and didn't like that Milwaukee released him in the first place. But if you can't throw strikes nothing else matters.
  15. I appreciate Craig's willingness to go against conventional wisdom occasionally but he's falling into Grandpa Ken ho-hum territory with his dugout demeanor. I thought the addition of Pat Murphy might add a little fire to the coaching staff but that hasn't been the case. I don't know how there was no chirping from the dugout after Flores' horrible strike 3 yesterday, especially when it was an important out.
  16. My experience at Busch in 2011 was actually the opposite. We were in pretty good seats on the third base side. My wife and I had gotten up to get some food. Yes, we left during a break in the action. After we got our food, we stood in the aisle above our section, so as not to interrupt people in the middle of the inning. We were in front of a wall, not in front of anyone's view. The usher said, "You folks need to go to your seats...you can't be standing around here." I looked at my wife, shrugged, and we made people stand up in the middle of the inning. Their rules, I guess. Same thing at Miller Park behind the field level around home plate. A few years ago we were sitting in the last row and my back was getting a little sore so I got up and stood right behind my seat. The usher was right behind us and watched me do this. After about 15 seconds he told me I needed to sit down. Although I think most ushers are just old guys who need the power trip for their ego. They have no problem telling people to sit down or asking to see your tickets to make sure you're going to your section but will do nothing about drunks or generally annoying people unless forced to.
  17. It's probably pretty rare that a team doesn't have at least one player deserving. I'd have to go back and look at rosters but some pretty crappy players have made the team from Kansas City and Pittsburgh in the last 10 years or so.
  18. That's Brewers baseball for you guys. We're such a joke of a franchise. Can't even do something simple like looking at the lineup card right. I mean, Craig, you wrote the damn thing. At some point shouldn't you go, "Hmm, Braun's up. That doesn't seem right."
  19. Horrible strike 3 called on Flores may have cost us at least extra innings. Not even close.
  20. I'm not sure why anyone even cares what GM's say. 99% of it is lies or PR to cover having a crappy team.
  21. I was confused as to why Maldonado was pinch hitting today and then they said the other option was Broxton. That says pretty much all you need to know about him. When Martin Maldonado is better option at the plate than you, you really have no business being on a big league roster. I'm whatever about Middlebrooks. There's no way they should be taking time away from Carter or Hill so I guess Will is only coming up to pinch hit.
  22. The radar's pretty green. I would think they can get it in today but not till tonight.
  23. And yet Bud Norris turned a couple good starts into a trade to a contender. I understand he's a "veteran" and has "experience" but he pitched like crap for a few years but now he's worth it? I'll buy the innings and lack of track record but you can't tell me if you're the Dodgers you'd rather have Norris in your rotation than Guerra right now.
  24. I've seen this posted before and I find it hard to believe considering over half of the roster is turned over every year. Heck, tonight only Braun, Lucroy, and Garza played for the Brewers last year.
  25. Turn down a lifetime pension and health benefits and a $500,000 minimum salary? I got 3 kids, my hatred of the cards ain't worth that much. Maybe I'd take their money and sabotage them from the inside.
