  1. For as much as the Brewers are collapsing, the Athletics are doing their best to match it. On July 1 the Brewers were 51-34 with a 6.5 game lead and Oakland was 51-32 with a 3.5 game lead. Since, the Brewers are 24-37 and have fallen to 5 games back of first and 1.5 of a wild card. Oakland has gone 30-32 and fallen to 9 games out of first and barely clings on to a wild card spot.
  2. I would guess the initial suspension had a lot to do with what the NFL lawyers thought would be the maximum the NFL could get away with without a lawsuit from Rice or the NFLPA. Obviously, things changed after that video went public and then they knew they could pretty much do whatever they wanted to Rice.
  3. A 25 year old who got rocked at AA and pitcher with rather mediocre numbers in low A, other than having to pay Broxton next year it doesn't seem like a bad deal at all.
  4. Might as well just let the players call their own on plays at the plate.
  5. Sounds about right. Why should anything go the Brewers way.
  6. Safe or out I'm not even mad. Bought time something happens.
  7. Is it me or has this strike zone been horrible so far?
  8. MLB Network just showed John Lackey complain about not getting a pitch at the shoulders called a strike and get tossed. He's sure fitting in with the Cardinal Way. Matheny should have been tossed too but wasn't of course.
  9. Maybe we should start drafting players that will actually stay at their position instead of moving everyone to first or the outfield.
  10. I see a lot of people saying they have confidence Segura will "turn it around" or "bounce back." I fail to see any proof of that. Of his 13 full months of being in the majors he has OPS'd over .700 in only 4 of them. The last month of 2012 and the first 3 of 2013. This current month's OPS is over .700 but we have a ways to go.
  11. Just get a lead first and then worry about who will give it up.
  12. Last offseason I was very much against a total rebuild but seeing what happened this year and knowing the Cubs will probably be joining the Cards and Pirates at the top of the division soon - it's time. I'd like to see everyone expect Lucroy, Gennett, Davis, Fiers, Nelson, and Thornburg moved. Maybe even hold onto Segura for another season since you won't be playing for anything anyway. Doug has collected way too many free swinging, no discipline hitters to put a consistent team on the field. It's time to clean house, club house and front office.
  13. Can we add "clutch" to the list of banned words on the forum?
  14. I'm kind of looking forward to going on Sunday now as everyone just shows up to get their bobble head and leave.
  15. Just close up the dome. Send everyone home. Give every ticket holder a refund and forfeit the rest of the season. Stop wasting everyone's time.
  16. Step 1 complete. Step 2 complete. Step 3 complete. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!!
  17. The running on contact play that there so fond of What else are you supposed to do with the bases loaded?
  18. Garza was on a pitch count. I've got no problems with RR bp managment tonight. Aside from letting a gassed Jeffress pitch to 3 lefties he's actually managing like it's a must win instead of just throwing out pitchers because of their roles.
