  1. Matheny is a huge douche but I think he is referring to the fact that Gomez stood in front Jay blocking his vision to the outfield so he couldn't see when Parra caught it. You can see him moving around on purpose to block Jay from seeing Parra. Which is in no way illegal.
  2. http://m.brewers.mlb.com/news/article/93184252/review-confirms-dp-cardinals-manager-mike-matheny-asks-for-interference So apparently Matheny challenged the play at the plate last night because he thought that Hector Gomez interfered with the runner at 3rd. "Their third baseman stood in front of our tagging runner and did jumping jacks," Matheny said after the game. "That's the first time I had ever seen that. I'm surprised the umpires didn't see that, but if they would have, it would have been some sort of interference." Watch the replay. Matheny is so full of crap. Gomez was 10 feet from the runner and didn't move an inch. There is no way he honestly believes this. The words one would use to describe him aren't even allowable on BF.

  4. Tony La Russa still has a job.
  5. Door County native Erik Cordier finally made his MLB debut. https://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-big-league-stew/after-10-years--erik-cordier-arrives-in-the-big-leagues-throwing-101-mph-heat-175352846.html I'd been following his career since I played against him in high school.
  6. The Brewers. No way should an organization let a player under contract play football at any level.
  7. Just saw the clip of the replay. How stupid that that was revealed. I don't know what's worse the fact the Matheny made an issue of it, the rule itself, or that Matheny talked with the umps after the review and wasn't tossed like he should have been. Just for morbid curiosity I would have like to seen them overturn the call just to see if Ron would actually do anything about it.
  8. That means bases loaded with no outs followed by a 3 pitch K (on 3 balls) and a 6-4-3 double play.
  9. The last 3 outs were pretty much Ron in a nutshell. 1. Stupid pinch hit decision combined with stupid bunt call. 2. Crappy hitter at the plate with better options on the bench. 3. Segura taking his same horrible approach at the plate (as he has for the last year and a half) that should have been addressed months ago.
  10. First pitch out by Segura. Nice to see that Yuni has been playing short in Milwaukee again this year.
  11. Freaking great. Fire Ron. Fire him now. What a joke of a manager. Just get rid of him.
  12. Maldonado!? Are you freaking kidding me Ron! Why would you bring him in the face Neshek, even if it is just to bunt.
  13. So I'm running 10.5.8 and from what I've found I can't update. Crap.
  14. I've been trying to install the Flash update on my Macbook for awhile now but it crashes every time I try. Anyone know what's going on or how to actually install the darn thing?
  15. Anyone watching the game think that Holiday hbp was intentional? According to gameday it looked pretty near the head. I hope it was intentional.
  16. No reason Broxton can't be trade this offseason either. He'll be in demand especially if he finishes strong. I wouldn't expect much in return but he could be used to sweeten a deal if Fiers or Nelson or another starter is involved.
  17. As for the "not sliding into a fielder blocking the base," I don't know what the "correct" thing to do is but you can be sure that if that was a Cardinal sliding he would have cleated the fielder and the fielder would have been beaned his next time up.
  18. There's a better chance of Counsell managing than being GM. He's only worked in the front office for what, not even two years yet?
  19. The Cardinals are human garbage. Holiday gets hit with a pitch and the next time up Miller throws one over McCutchen's head. Since the Crew has tanked anyway they might as well give Molina and Holiday a couple fastballs to the face.
  20. Me too. I was sick of people here telling me they'd never sit a vet to play Clark or Rogers in September. RR wants production, and he knows he not going to suddenly find it in the washed up has beens he was forced to use the first 5 months of the season. I might have good with Rogers over Clark, but I'll take either over Lark Roverbay. This is a very un-Ron-like move. He's more of a start the hot bat guy (Rogers who's 1-1 vs Clark who is 0-1).
  21. Interesting you should mention this because before the season even started, in the minor league coaching thread I asked if Erickson was being groomed to be the Brewers manager someday. I don't know much about his managing style or strengths and weaknesses but he's a former Brewer and from Wisconsin. That has to put him near the top of Mark and Doug's list of potential manager candidates.
  22. Being aggressive is fine. But after a while pitchers learn this and don't throw strikes early in the count. Then you need to make an adjustment, not swing even harder and more frequently.
  23. I thought it might be fun to look at some of the names that were brought for first base in 2014 and how they're doing this season. Corey Hart Out for the year but put up a sub .600 OPS beforehand. Logan Morrison Injured for a good chunk of the season, having his worst offensive season of his career even when you factor the move to Seattle with a 86 OPS+. Ike Davis Finally traded to Pittsburgh after lots of talk about it. Not putting up the season many think/hope/want, but at least above average with a 107 OPS+ which is close to career norms. Kendrys Morales Only slightly less of a disaster than Hart has been with a OPS around .600 between Minnesota and Seattle. Mike Morse Very productive. OPS north of .800. Justin Morneau If you don't know how he's doing this season, you're not a Brewer fan. Billy Butler The guy some posters were willing to give up a lot for - having the worst season of his career. His OPS is hovering around .700 because he has apparently forgotten how to walk and hit homeruns. Probably a good thing he's wearing Royal blue instead of navy. Now for what we're stuck with... Mark Reynolds The guy can hit the ball a long way and make a diving play every now and then. Not much more you can say about him. Pathetic batting average and on-base percentage and OPS+ at 90. Lyle Overbay He gets on base more than Mark, that's about all you can say. Also, did you know he played 26 innings of RF for the Yankees last year. Wow, were they desperate.
