  1. I think that is ridiculous. You've raved about DM. Then you make these guarantees such as the one you made when you guaranteed that the Brewers would trade for Morneau. Well....sorry, but the Rockies have a say in the matter as well and they flat out said he wasn't available according to Melvin who was clearly frustrated with the lack of teams willing to deal. And didn't you say the Brewers would be TEN GAMES ahead of the Cardinals by the ASB, then by the 1st of September? So now he's worth 11 more wins than who we have currently and he's cost us the playoffs using your logic? Again, this is all moot if the team you're trying to trade with won't trade with you. Melvin has put together a team that is 1 game behind the Dodgers who have 2.5 times the payroll we do in the National League and are 3 games up on the Cardinals in the division. Not sure how that translates to a lack of job security. Trading Nelson, Arcia, Coulter and Taylor and then giving Price 8 years and close to 200 million would have been grounds to fire him IMO, a move you were adamantly advocating. I agree HiAndTight what a ridiculous suggestion that Melvin should be fired. He has put together a team who is competing for a division title and it's August. How in the world would that result in him being canned? PFX just wants Melvin canned because none of his guarantees are coming true ... I view it as standard operating procedure that DM will be blamed in this scenario and will be fired.
  2. More like 50-10. The previous claim of being undefeated has been forgotten, I see. Where did I say that? In playoff games I'm undefeated.
  3. You are banned from making predictions or having special feelings.. (Price a Brewer...10 game lead on STL.) Please stop Yes, but he is 150 - 2 when going to see the brewers live, so his special feelings are valid. More like 50-10.
  4. Lohse is still in the game. No it's not, fyi. You're right, he's the mother-lovin MVP tonight. What a performance! That's not what I said or implied.
  5. You are banned from making predictions or having special feelings.. (Price a Brewer...10 game lead on STL.) Please stop It's not over with.
  6. I have a special feeling we will win this game due to Lohse.
  7. Every year since 2007 he's been slow to call up relievers. Look at the first 2 months of the season for relief pitchers, then look when they were replaced. Quite shocking.
  8. DM might have just costed us the playoffs by not making a move at the deadline. If so, then fire him.
  9. I'm sorry, but the Brewers didn't handle thornburg we'll at all during this whole thing. They completely wasted a roster spot for an entire month keeping a pitcher that they knew really needed to go on the DL on the 25 man roster for all of May and he barely pitched in that month or at all. They took FOREVER to bring up Jeffress. DM is always SLOW to make the bullpen calls from the minors. He's historically bad in this area.
  10. If we miss the playoffs, you won't know one way or the other if it's because the Brewers didn't get someone else in a trade. And by the way, DM said that he made offers to other teams, including at least one "big" move (he even said the names of some teams), but nothing came to fruition. He didn't offer enough then. That's on him.
  11. So you don't think DM did enough at the trade deadline. I agree 100%. Mark my words if we miss the playoffs due to this DM should be fired. We are the favorites up until this point and we should stay the favorites in the NL.
  12. http://i.minus.com/ibqFBgVNUcZm4K.gif YOU CAN'T JUST SAY THINGS LIKE THAT! THIS IS BASEBALL!!! LOL! That GIF is hilarious...
  13. So an injured reliever and an A ball catcher with a good looking bat, but questionable defense, will net you 2 top SP prospects? In the off-season, yes. Thornburg is a very good pitching and in my opinion he's better than Nelson.
  14. Exactly. Have you noticed that many of these prospects we have traded for Sabathia, Greinke, Marcum were pretty overhyped by many here and about half didn't turn out to be what they expected them to be, or developed very late?
  15. You know if you combine coulters value and Thornburg's vale together you get 2 top SP prospects when added with Nelson, right? Which btw is exactly what the Brewers need.
  16. Trading price would net us 2 Nelsons in the off-season if we trade him to a big market club, because I can guarantee you with all the money in baseball, team who controls a player like Price can blow him away with a FA offer prior to FA. Players aren't going to reach FA like they used to. So many reasons to get price it's laughible. Umm, why wouldn't the Rays just hold on to Price and compete the rest of the season. Then trade him for what you think will be a better return in the offseason? they would look desperate, because they aren't contenders when you compare them to the 3 teams above them. They won't have the leverage the Brewers will have.
  17. The rays are 7 games back and are competing with 3 teams for the division who are all ahead of them. Just the fact that the Brewers have been mentioned with price and some players names have been thrown around tells me TB will trade Price. They are pretty serious about it. Very different rays than last off-season.
  18. The difference between Prince and Nelson is huge. That would be a huge upgrade getting a bonafied ace. Our offense is fine, though a half year rental 1B would be helpful. Looking into the playoffs and past this season having price will be huge. Guys Nelson alone is only half of what we need in the starting rotation. Lohse and Gallardo could both be leaving within th next 1.5 years basically very soon. Trading price would net us 2 Nelsons in the off-season if we trade him to a big market club, because I can guarantee you with all the money in baseball, team who controls a player like Price can blow him away with a FA offer prior to FA. Players aren't going to reach FA like they used to. That would be a very smart move on DM's part; especially with Hellweg not living up to expectations and blowing up in the majors. Who do we have left? No one solid, and we got to fix that and Price could be a BIG trade chip this off-season, and we'd have the leverage since teams know we are a WS contender with him, so the "have to" trade him part isn't there for other teams to use. So many reasons to get price it's laughible.
  19. Just had to quote this for future reference... I do hope you are wrong... I'm not sure we can afford to give up our future for 1 to 1.5 years of one guy. Ughhh. I'd give him up in a heart beat. I know about his talent, but we need a true ace and I'd extend him like is said months ago. I'd just keep Tyrone Taylor. He's all I care about. We'll need him once we move Braun to 1B.
  20. I hope it's the dodgers. They can afford to beat st ;louis offer due to their payroll.
  21. Is that the july 31st deadline...or the revocable waiver deadline? July 31st. It's being worked out right now likely. Pitching wins chapionships guys, not offense. Though, the Brewers do have a good offense. Pitching can improve.
